  1. I am trying to create a Prarie Fire DLC based Bright Light MP mission to rescue some shot down and captured CIA pilots. When the players find them they are both wounded but one is incapacitated. I need a player to be able to pick up and carry the incapacitated AI and load them into a helicopter. I do not want to use ACE and AIS (A3) seems to be outdated. Any other information I have been able to look up and find is a minimum of two years old. Can anyone tell me if there is a module, script or whatever that has been developed to allow me to pull this off in MP? Forgive me for the question but I am just now returning from quite a long hiatus in mission making and trying to get back into the groove.

    Countdown trigger not working?

    Hmmm, I could have sworn I had this work in the past. Well, I am getting up in years, maybe my memory is faulty. Thank all of you for the help. I appreciate it.
  3. Is anyone else having an issue with the countdown timer not working for triggers? I set a countdown on a trigger and rather than counting down it initiates the trigger immediately upon the conditions being met. Can anyone else confirm this?
  4. I'm hoping someone can help me with this. It's been a long time since I have worked on some missions in ARMA 3 and have never been that great with scripting. I couldn't find what I was looking for through searching the forums so... I am creating a mission where the players must repel an attack on their FOB (Vietnam era, so not a lot of night vision.). I want to create a regular interval of illumination flares to be spawned above the FOB as if a nearby FSB is supporting the base with illumination during the fight. I'm not quite sure how to go about doing this however.

    Countdown trigger not working?

    Sorry, I had some issues for the past few days and hadn't had time to hop on here. I also should have been a little more specific, my apologies. The issue is with using the radio signals as the trigger, i.e. "Radio Alpha, Radio Bravo" etc. When I try to use the radio triggers in conjunction with a countdown it does not work properly. Rather than counting down from the seconds I set (Which I set the same number in min, mid and max values) when the "Radio Alpha" trigger is activated it simply initiates the trigger rather than delaying it for the countdown specified time. IN my mission, the player will select "Radio Alpha" from his action menu. 10 seconds later a car bomb is supposed to explode. Unfortunately, when the action is selected from the action menu the car explodes immediately rather than counting down the 10 seconds. I have confirmed this seems to be only occurring with the Radio activation options.

    Problems logging into MP server

    I've done several searches and can't seem to find any information that is helpful to the specific issue I am having. I am on a satellite internet connection and play multiplayer by having friends host games on their systems. I have never had a problem logging into their systems until not long after APEX was released. Now when I try to log into one of my friends servers from the server browser it takes me to the password entry. I punch in the password and it starts to connect, showing the Tanoa map and the yellowish chain links in the lower right that I always get showing a slow connection and the Group Channel indicator in the lower left. It sits there for a moment and then drops me back out to the server browser. On rare occasion, if I continue to try many times it will finally maintain the connection. Again, that is a rarity. I normally give up after about 20 attempts or so. Again, I never had this issue before until just recently. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  8. I am by far not a scripting guru. If someone would be so kind to help me create a script I need for a mission. I simply want to be able to have opfor squads try to track and chase down a bluefor squad on foot. I have tried a couple of scripts I found here but I think that they were written for OA. Unfortunately they are generating errors and/or not working properly. Can one of you guys who are much better at this write a simple script that I can use to make that happen? It is a situation kind of like the movie "Tears of the Sun" where a larger unit is tracking and pursuing the smaller unit all across the map. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    The Unsung Vietnam Mod 3.0 WIP THREAD

    I have a question and hoping there is an easy answer. We love playing our Vietnam missions with Unsung now, thank you again so much for providing it. However, when we do other missions I love using some of the assets y'all have created such as the patrol boats and such for third world country assets in my mercenary missions. The problem I am running into is that when we are doing a European based mission I have some of the opfor speaking Vietnamese. Is there a way to silence them easily? It's comical at times but it does suspend immersion into a mission based outside of an Asian country. I know I could disable Unsung but as I said, there are a lot of great assets I would lose access to with that solution. Any help would be appreciated.

    Trouble with group trigger

    I am glad to hear that because it is still not working in the stable release at this point and I utilize "Any Group Member" triggers a lot in my missions. Currently it only works for the group leader no matter what setting you put into the trigger. It looks like it sets it up correctly but it just doesn't work correctly in use. Trust me, it has had me pulling out my hair trying to work around it as well.

    Trouble with group trigger

    Still trying to learn the new editor and I find myself encountering something strange, perhaps a bug, glitch or something someone can share some light on for me. I am trying to set up a mission where when any members of a unit cross a given trigger, a bomb explodes. I set the group leader to be the owner of the trigger and then selected "Any group member" from the activation drop down menu but it still only activates when the group leader crosses the trigger boundary. Anybody able to tell me if I am doing anything wrong here?

    I think it's awesome that y'all are adding the ACH-47! So looking forward to Charlie. I have a question, I thought I saw mention of a tunnel network on one of the maps? Is there a tunnel system already on one or both of the maps or is that something that was in the works that I might have taken out of context? If there is a tunnel complex on the maps could someone tell me where they are?

    Thank you so much kind sir. Oh, and just so you know, the guys I play ARMA with love your creations. We have made extensive use of your add-ons since we started playing ARMA together several years ago. Keep up the good work and thank you so much for your contributions, making a great game even greater. I envy you guys with the knowledge to make this stuff. I have so many ideas but not the know-how.     I have been looking, and perhaps I overlooked it somewhere but am loosing a lot of time on creating this mission so...Is there an init line command or short script that I can have the P-12 and P-18 radars deploy their masts without player interaction from the action menu?

    The Unsung Vietnam Mod 3.0 WIP THREAD

    Here is a screen shot of the error I am getting with the corsair. I have had several of my group confirm they are getting it as well. This is with nothing but Unsung loaded. On the support module issue. If you put down a player unit on the map, then place a stock mk6 mortar with crew on the map. From the modules, under supports place a support requester and a support provider artillery (not the virtual one). Now sync the support requester to the player, sync the support requester to the support provider and then sync the support provider to the mortar. Now play the scenario and you should be notified that support are available. You can either look at the area you want to call the strike on or you can look at the map, placing the cursor where you want the strike to hit. Then you press 0 for radio, 8 for support, 1 for artillery it should be, then 1 for mk6 mortar then finally you select the number of rounds you want fired. Somewhere in there you choose the type of rounds as well. Anyway, the mortar will then fire the rounds at the designated coordinates. When I try to set this up with any of the artillery assets in Unsung, they go through the motions but they never fire any rounds. Currently I am working around by using the futuristic mk6 hidden in the jungle somewhere. On the other issues I am glad to see they have either already been addressed or are in the works. We are looking forward to the traps and knives and all of the other goodies in the works. Keep up the good work and know that your work and effort is greatly appreciated. If I knew more about creating these things I would volunteer to lend a hand. Unfortunately I have no skills in that realm. I know just enough to put together a workable mission here and there for our small group to enjoy. Testing and feedback I can do though. :D

    My apologies if this is the wrong place to post this but it seems like a logical place. First I would like to say that the Unsung Vietnam team has really knocked it out of the park with Bravo. Y'all have made my small group of ARMA fanatics very happy. Thank you for all of the hard work and dedication y'all have put into this project. Please don't take the things I am about top report as me hacking on y'all. I just want to make some issues known if they have not yet been reported or are already known because me and my group of players really enjoy the Vietnam setting. That being said, here are some issues we have found so far: When placed on the map the Corsairs generate an error. I can not read all of it before it disappears but it seems to have something to do with removing an action. The foot bridge on the Da Krong map that is near the village of Nui Pek creates a solid wall on the river below it. Try running under that bridge on a boat at speed and you blow up. At slow speed you are just stopped. The Thompson (both), MAT-49 (both) and the Swedish K all appear to be about 1/3 too small. The mortar range bands in the Artillery Computer are too narrow, hindering ability to fire at many targets. It seems that all of the artillery assets do not respond well with the support modules. They simply will not fire but go through the motions without firing any rounds but will declare "Rounds complete". Finally, the knives and the trap kit...Do these have a use and if so how are they used. If they are just place markers for future capabilities then we are waiting in anticipation. Again, please don't take this as complaints, we want to see Unsung be the best it can be and are looking forward to Charlie. Great job!

    Mobile Trigger?

    Is there a way to create a trigger that is bound to a unit and thus mobile? What I am trying to do is create a mission where the players have to tail a boat back to the rebel safe house. I want to make a trigger that travels with the boat so that if the players get too close it will change the behavior and maybe even the path the ship takes. Does anyone have an idea on how I might go about this?

    Isolda Fleet - Civilian Ships

    I realize this is a severe necropost and I apologize but I am trying to find out if there is any way someone could please port this over to ARMA 3? I have been playing ARMA off and on since OFP. Recently I became active again with ARMA 3 and remembered how much I enjoyed using these ships in my missions for ARMA 2. GNAT, will you please port this over to ARMA 3 and if you do not want to do it can I get your permission to find someone who can do it for me so I can use these great ships again?

    Sugar Lake [67 sq km river delta terrain]

    Hey Major, Awesome map sir. My group played the Operation Cottonmouth mission last night and loved it. We never could get it to finish for us though. I think we had some of the opfor in the reeds that we were missing or something though. It was a blast hunting the opfor from the bench of the little bird. Loads of fun. Thank you for making this map. The group I play in has been together for a while, since OFP:R. When we were all in the air moving toward the 1st objective it was almost simultaneous that every one said we needed ships! I have no knowledge or ability on porting over ARMA 2 mods but there is the Isolda Fleet add on that maybe someone could port over. It would compliment this great map wonderfully!
