AnimalMother92 10 Posted August 14, 2010 One little idea for the (HEAVY) operators: could you maybe add the goggles from the BIS Delta guys to some of the models for more variety?
mcnools 62 Posted August 14, 2010 One little idea for the (HEAVY) operators: could you maybe add the goggles from the BIS Delta guys to some of the models for more variety? Yeah, maybe, atleast those who haven't got goggles on their helmets already. :)
bugkill 7 Posted August 14, 2010 Yeah, maybe, atleast those who haven't got goggles on their helmets already. :) How about giving a couple of them the half head helmet and one protec helmet with all the bells and whistles? It would add to the variety in the heavy units because they look pretty similar right now. Just my .02 cents and awesome work with this addon, bro.
Fox '09 14 Posted August 14, 2010 that requires mlods.. or head gear. that works too, i suppose.

No need for mlods :D
mcnools 62 Posted August 14, 2010 (edited) If he just used the helmetless Drake model it should work np (i think). bugkill 7 Posted August 14, 2010 True, that would work, but I'm not modeller, so I couldn't create new helmets anyway. :) How about getting permission to use a couple of models from Ard's TF 86 Seals addon? He has those helmets in his addon and he just might let you use them in your addon to give a bit of variety for the heavy units. Worth a try to ask.
road runner 4344 Posted August 14, 2010 is that the IBH types? has he got the half board Protecs in the TF86 mod? This is a fabby add on as it is mate, got a real feel of SF types ....
pre-Vet 10 Posted August 14, 2010 dont see SF use the protec a lot, mostly maritime boarding teams. mich2001 pretty much has the comfort of a protec and still class III protection (if I remember right) protec dont give any balistic protection so woulndt really fit in the heavy sceme IMO. really like the helmets they use now. could try to give it a nice camo kinda thing liek this: http://media.photobucket.com/image/mich%202001%20helmet/TheWitchKing/DSC00587.jpg USA flag would be cool to ;) dont wanna be whining about helmets but cant think of any other things you might improve, its just good! about the dust goggles, would be nice to give em to a unit with a facewrap or shamagh :) mostly used combined like that in RL. good to see a combat medic vers.2 btw, the great variaty there is ATM gives the option not to see the same guy twice in a team making it more realistic :)

McNools will know what to use and I think he can square it away. I'm only talking about at least 3 or 4 of the heavy operators to have a different helmet from the MICH. mcnools 62 Posted August 15, 2010 (edited) I'm looking into it. :) Does anyone know if there's any way to override the players choice of glasses by the way? (the helmets work like glasses). Otherwise, the player won't have a helmet unless he chooses it from the profile-screen, which is not how it should be. (I've asked for permission to use the helmets, but I haven't got an answer yet, since I just asked, but IF I get permission I need to know this), Edited August 15, 2010 by McNools

bugkill 7 Posted August 15, 2010 I know this is Arma, but since McNools got his Tier 1 idea from Medal Of Honor, I figured I post a link to some vids of the SP. It looks very good and I can't wait to get it. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-stealth-medal-of/702887#comments_top http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-sniper-medal-of/702889 http://www.gametrailers.com/video/linkin-park-medal-of/702441 http://www.gametrailers.com/episode/gametrailers-tv/100?ch=1&sd=1_hd

mcnools 62 Posted August 16, 2010 Sorry mate, I'm not adding him, since that would require new models for the beard etc. But there are already similar units.
Ville89 10 Posted August 16, 2010 Great looking units I must say... I hope my copy of OA arrives soon, I cant wait to get my hands on these! (yea yea yea, damn perv-boys!).
AnimalMother92 10 Posted August 16, 2010 Have you thought about retexturing some of the Heavies' helmets with IR flags? (not the same helmet model I know, but you get the idea.) Ideal spot?
mcnools 62 Posted August 16, 2010 (edited) ah, no, sorry, I haven't. I still like to keep them a bit generic, so that's why I don't have any flags on them. I'm thinking about just making them americans (with some flags on some units) instead though, since that's basicly what they are, but that might piss people off who have used them as generic soldiers for other countries. What do others feel about this? By the way guys, if there's another release, there will be ACU-versions of the Heavies, possible multicam aswell, we'll see. Edited August 16, 2010 by McNools
therev709 10 Posted August 16, 2010 Leave them flagless IMO. Not only can people use these to represent foreign troops, even if they were American they might have to go into a fight without anything that would tell the foreign country they're American troops in the event they are captured ;) Looking forward to the ACU/Multicam heavies too :D
bugkill 7 Posted August 16, 2010 Definitely leave them flagless and leave it up to players to add them themselves. I would go with adding multicam and tan camo, but not ACU. I already like the mix you have so far, but I would like to see your tan and od green tops replace those dcu tops and maybe add some merril boots. Just be sure to make the camo a bit more faded and worn.

Actually, I've already made the ACU-textures (using BIS's ACU-textures) so they'll be in the next version. :)
