[OA] AH64 - Real Gunner View?

Recommended Posts

Impressive..... one of the best guncam Videos so far...

Black-Hot mode looks impressive at dailight...

Flir doesn't look that good in OA, no?

What are those dotted rectangles about?

I would be a little surprised if OA FLIR looked better than reality. ;)

Looks like M-TADS vs TADS, more defined and detailed as well as better heat detection, clearer image than compared to block II's equipment. And yes it is possible to compass, fire mode all kinds of information displayed.

Also don't forget OA operates by texture and no heat texture is going to fit the same scenerio so they went neutral I guess, personally I'm curious to crack open the pbo's after seeing the top of that structure.

Franze's apache had it way back in the olden OFP days but the limit was zooming in zoomed past these..but much has changed back then and the fact that you can switch between firemodes AND zoom AND keep the information probably means yes.

Largest box is represents the FOV of TADS with M230, the inner square weapon/sensor position and dot is cued line of sight.

Also there was a sort of psuedo FLIR in A2 but it was only used by the UAV's at first, later community modded to more but still heat based in any way and was not at all sharp, it had a sort of post process look to it.

Hopefully one day the impact of the 30mm will look in ArmA as good and realistic as in that video.

Guess thats because of the FLIR mod conflicts with the OA FLIR

The Apache liveleak video is definately MTADs as the image is too defined to be the old Legacy fit.

Would be good to have the High Action Display shown centre bottom of the screen on the AHs optics and also the range finder to be moved to the left of that.

Would also have liked to see the Radar guided hellfires and the Laser guided hellfires fitted to the apache so it can target weapons lased by ground troops, RF missiles are bloody expensive aswell so Laser Guided are generally the only ones fitted.

Maybe the good ol flechette rockets as fitted to our british cabs aswell, they kick ass but thats for another time.

Nice FLIR in OA anyway helps when hunting down that last hostile hiding amongst the compounds.
