jonneymendoza 10 Posted July 2, 2010 i'l check it out thanks mate. whats the limit on the amount of items that can be carried in a backpack?
Big Dawg KS 6 Posted July 2, 2010 Probably depends on the type, but all of the ones I've looked at were right around 10 slots. 1 mag = 1 slot 1 satchel/rocket = 2 slots 1 sidearm = ~4 slots 1 primary/secondary weapon = ~8 slots

Smurf 12 Posted July 2, 2010 There some cons in using a full backpack, besides losing the 2nd weapon slot?
Big Dawg KS 6 Posted July 3, 2010 Here's where I'm having trouble with the packs. ??? I don't get it, what's the issue? Seems like you were able to figure it out.
Hedo 10 Posted July 3, 2010 ??? :confused:I don't get it, what's the issue? Seems like you were able to figure it out. I think it's the 0:40 part with magazines.
zenith777 0 Posted July 3, 2010 (edited) So he had backpack full (12 slots, 7 stanags, 4 m203 grenades and one hand grenade) and then he tried to add more stuff to the backpack, making some of the stuff dissappear. You sure it didn't get dropped to the ground? Just tested this myself. There ain't no bug, if you try to add something to the backpack that is already full then the stuff gets dropped all around you on the ground. JuggernautOfWar 1 Posted July 3, 2010 I think it's the 0:40 part with magazines. Yeah, also what confuses me is one time I got a completely separate view of my backpack items and I can't seem to replicate it.
zenith777 0 Posted July 3, 2010 Yeah, also what confuses me is one time I got a completely separate view of my backpack items and I can't seem to replicate it. If you open bag while in Ammo crate Gear menu you will see them as a separate view.

Big Dawg KS 6 Posted July 4, 2010 Is it possible to put Backpacks in vehicles?I tried putting mortar and tripod bag in US MTVR but it doesn't work No, you're not supposed to be able to. But you might be able to because of a bug.
nmdanny 22 Posted July 4, 2010 No, you're not supposed to be able to. But you might be able to because of a bug. Oh i found how, i have to click Drop when the backpack is selected and not double click it And i doubt it's a bug, in real life you can put stationary weapons and backpacks in vehicles too
Dark SudoNix 1 Posted July 4, 2010 the funny thing is, is that noone has yet to even mention how to get a backpack on your back in the first place...? I must me missing something...?
zenith777 0 Posted July 4, 2010 the funny thing is, is that noone has yet to even mention how to get a backpack on your back in the first place...? I must me missing something...? Look at the backpack and you'll get an action to the action menu. Can be kinda hard sometimes. No, you're not supposed to be able to. But you might be able to because of a bug. And what would be the point of that? You put your bags in the car when you are going to the journey in real life, so why wouldn't you be able to do the same in OA? CarlGustaffa 4 Posted July 5, 2010 No I think that issue only effects ammo crates. You can apparently put them in ammo crates due to a bug, but you shouldn't really be able to since both ammo crate and backpack are "containers". Vehicles have a special config entry that determines how many backpacks they can store, so that is obviously being a point to allow in the game.
monotone 3 Posted July 7, 2010 (edited) What does UAVterminal pack stand for? Is this just a eyecandy like mortar stryker? I could managed to functionalize that pack with commands. removeBackpack player;player addBackpack "US_UAV_Pack_EP1"; myUAVmodule synchronizeObjectsAdd [(unitBackpack player)] but this commands applicable to any other packs. Edited July 7, 2010 by Monotone
DieAngel 0 Posted July 7, 2010 UAV terminals can be any objects anyway, but i believe your backpack will lose it's UAV terminal property if dropped/equiped again.

Jonn 10 Posted July 27, 2010 (edited) Anyone know the command line to add a Backpack (to a Unit) with satchel charges and some Ammo in it ? I can add the backpack: this AddBackpack "US_Assault_Pack_EP1"; But I can't put items in it. Thx Edited July 27, 2010 by Jonn
CarlGustaffa 4 Posted July 27, 2010 (edited) http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/addBackpack http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/addWeaponCargo http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/addMagazineCargo New commands, some still not documented, here: http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Master85's_Sandbox#New_Commands No commands for dealing with container contents, or even remove a backpack from a unit (without removing it from the world) and dropping it next to him (or any position), which would have been nice for HALO applications where original (not the "chute backpack") is readded to player on touchdown. cyop 10 Posted July 27, 2010 Sheeesh! ... I have tried I don't know howmany different variations of: removeBackpack this; this addBackpack "US_Patrol_Pack_EP1"; clearMagazineCargo this; this addMagazineCargo ["20Rnd_762x51_B_SCAR",4]; this addMagazineCargo ["30Rnd_9x19_UZI_SD",1]; this addMagazineCargo ["HandGrenade_West",1]; What am I doing wrong? (I have been playing with this for hours.) NUTSHELL... I am just trying to change the 'default' contents of backpacks.
Jonn 10 Posted July 27, 2010 Ok i figured it out for the BIS Backpacks (It only works with BIS units): this AddBackpack "BackPack Name"; (unitBackpack this) addMagazineCargo ["Ammo Name",4]; Now I'm trying to figure out the ACE2 Backpack Script, I can add the ACE Backpack but I can't put ammo into it. If you guys know how to add ammo into the ACE backpacks please post it.
