AMS Roter Stern [Campaign]

One year ago Stoned Boy and me was planing to make a campaign for ArmA2. And today we're proud to present you the first chapter of Roter Stern.

At the moment the campaign is only in german language, so we hope here are any intersted people who wanna play this campaign.

The first part of the campaign deals with that what could be passed, namely to the war ChDKZ against CDF and her government before the invasion of the USMC on Chernarus.

As an officer of the ChDKZ you must be able in 4 missions to lead the ChDKZ to the victory.

However, to the contents of the remaining episodes we would like to abstain at this point, because the Outro gives a look on it.

Is it only in German?
At the moment the campaign is only in german language

It's a shame, really. Sounds like fun. I for one would be interested in an English translation for sure! :D

Why it is a shame? It's your problem when you don't understand german :D

At the moment we translate mission for mission into english. Takes few days.

I had given it a try but had no idea what I was supposed to do or how my squad got ungrouped from me in the first mission, so I couldn't really continue. However, it's great to hear you're translating it!

1st mission: Search & Destroy enemy forces at airport

Primary objectives: sabotage (do not destroy!) Shilka and kill four SU-25 pilots before they can fly away - you are the hero so you can deal with this task on your own.

Secondary objective (after completing primary): use High Command to neutralize other enemy units - lets see how a hero can lead some troops.

Imho the first mission could use some spice eg. a UAZ driving to or from airport, tent near the Shilka were the crew is sitting around a campfire talking or listening to radio Eriwan erm Sahrani.

All vehicles should be empty except those on patrol. The enemy force should be on ease (safe/careless) mode = sleeping or sitting around and maybe talking to each other or playing guitar. :)

Hey, thats a great idea! But they're on war and should not sleeping at 4:00 am :)

I stopped playing it after i noticed that every 30 secounds after 3 min or so all of my highcommand guys died with no reason:rolleyes:

Strange...never had this problem before.

But i've did some minor changes in the first mission today. The new version comes with the english translation all in one. ;)

Changes:

  • Patrols now safe
  • Troops for the High command replaced.
  • Binocular for player
  • Crew of the shilka now not in the vehicle. The are in the tent and listen boring music (thx NoRailgunner) :)
  • addAction for shilka sabotage (thx to Clayman ^^)
  • Little small changes in briefing

anyway, how would you classify this campaign?

realistic/ authentic, action based, infantry, "spec ops"?

Hmm, i don't like the word "realistic". Let's say it's a action based campaign with an authentic story.

Thx for info about script errors. I know them and i'm on the way to fix them.

But where is an error in "s4 setcaptive false;" or "s4 dofire s10" ?? :confused:

s4 seems to be undefined, i.e. there's no soldier with that name.

Seems to me like a "nice" piece of work! Congrats for this job m8s

1st mission: we've taken airport and no more enemies found, why does it not end?:confused:

In Notice or Briefing I've found no clue what else I have to do...if I have to do something additional? :)

I think you didn't find all enemys on the airport. Find them, then that's not the end. :)

Nice that you enjoy the camp so far!

Yep...You're right, I missed some of the "bad guys"! :o

Realy thought I got 'em all.

In the "Vormarsch..."-Mission the SAVE-function is disabled.

Well it maybe good for immersion, but it's a very long mission and somebody like me would prefer to play it in parts.Could You please activate the save-function in the next version?

Will try it out soon! Is it better to play the campaign with A2 only or did you implement some A2OA features/weapons etc?

Btw is it the right updated pbo - date: 24.08.2010?

No, we edited the missions only with vanilla ArmA2 content. The pbo date from 24.08.10 is correct. We planed to released it later here with english briefings, but it was too much work atm. So we release the full version of the campaign (incl. chapter 2 and 3) in english then.
