So I have some Feedback for you. I´ll write it in german to properly express my feelings.

I have played it with CO+ACE+Zeus AI

Mission 1:

Die Mission fing ja sehr schön an, die Aufgabe die Shilka zu sabotieren war auf jeden Fall sehr stimmungvoll, der 2te Part mit dem ausschalten der Piloten war ebenfalls gelungen. Einziges Manko: Die Waffe. Leider ist es in ACE so das man nicht mit nem Nachtsichtgerät durch ein Scharfschützenvisier schauen kann, dafür gibt es extra Varianten mit NV Visieren. Also gleich mal die Frage ob ihr eine ACE Version plant? Während das mit den Piloten noch kein Problem war da sie an einem gut ausgeleuchteten Ort sind, war der anschließende Sturm auf die Basis schon schwieriger, man ist gezwungen die Waffe zu wechseln. Das nächste Problem bilden die eigenen Panzer. Ich weis nicht woran es liegt, womöglich ist die Besatzung zu blöd Nachtsichtgeräte zu benutzen, aber auf jeden Fall werden die eigenen Panzer von den paar BMPs auf dem Flughafen gnadenlos geschreddert, die eigene Infranterie macht sich auch nicht viel besser da sie meistens keine Nachtsichtgeräte haben (verständlich da es sich um Aufständische handelt) jedoch genug CDF Offiziere mit NV rumlaufen.

Der Angriff auf den Flughafen wurde dadurch zu einer sau schweren Angelegenheit.

Mission 2: Zuerst mal scheint die Mission ein Problem zu haben da man direkt die Fehlermeldung "NIL Variable overriden Please fix Mission or loaded Addons" bekommt.

Das erste Missionsziel die eingegrabenen Panzer zu zerstören gestaltete sich wirklich schwer da durch ACE die Bomben auch wirklich ungelenkt sind und Panzer auch nicht ganz so einfach zu zerlegen sind. Selbst als ich es dann geschafft hatte wurde das Ziel trotzdem als nicht erfüllt gewertet. Musste die Mission daher per Cheat beenden. Eventuell wäre die Möglichkeit das Ziel als erfüllt zu werten sobald die Besatzungen ausgeschaltet sind oder aus dem panzer aussteigen.

Mission 3: Schöner Einstieg jedoch wieder mit dem Fehler NIL Variable overriden. Die Probleme beginnen an der ersten Sperre. Leider agieren die verbündeten Panzer nicht wirklich gut da sie direkt in feindliches Feuer fahren, ehe man etwas tun kann ist die eine Hälfte der Verbündeten hinüber. Bitte setzt doch den Spieler als Kommandant in den ersten Panzer und gebt ihm das Kommando über den Zug. Die Menge an Panzerabwehrwaffen an diesem Frontabschnitt ist einfach nur wahnsinnig, von überall kommt was angeflogen. Da man durch ACE nur eine beschränkte Sicht im Panzer hat ist die Stelle unmöglich zu lösen wenn der halbe Trupp direkt aufgerieben wird (kann auch an Zeus AI liegen) eine Lösung wäre den Angriff durch Inf zu unterstützen wie man es in echt ja auch machen würde.

Weiter hab ich nicht getestet, da ich ganz erlich gesagt keinen Bock mehr hatte. Diese Kampange bietet auf jeden Fall extrem frustrierende Erlebnisse wie ich sie so bis jetzt selten erlebt habe, hat aber auch verdammt viel Potential. Ich bitte euch eine Ace Version in erwägung zu ziehen und die Sache mit den Errors aus der Welt zu schaffen, da ich eine danach kontinuierliche abnehmende Performance feststellen konnte

Hmm...strange. Never had any errors by tests in all missions. All works fine for me. Tested today again. Maybe you should play it without OA. The missions are edited with vanilla ArmA2 and showscripterrors ...without any modes.

Well if I don´t start OA, then I can´t use ACE^^

This NIL Variable Error is something new in OA, at least I didn´t see it once in Arma2

As a lot of the problems you had are caused by mods, you might want to consider playing the campaign without these mods. ;)

That NIL Variable Error is a "feature" of CBA, I think.

Hmm... played 3 missions only with latest A2 beta (72558) and got a 10MB arma2.rpt mostly:

some other error messages appear ingame...

Some ideas/suggestions:

What if you create 2-3 characters instead of one hero? Like in good old OFP times ;)

1st mission:

- could be good to have a rifle with SD, I managed to sneak 35m behind pilots but shooting with the Makarov PM isnt great. Next time I will try to kill them from distance.

- one BMP2 didnt manage to get out of those hangars

- what about sniffing/tracking dogs ?

2nd mission

- get the AI away from driving and walking on taxi- and runway (let them watch at player or make some exercises or let them construct something)

- the mission tasks are not correctly checked

- let the plane fly along the coastline

- chase the player with a plane to his homebase

3rd mission

- better if support is only available in safe places like solved mission objectives (eg villages), in this way there is no crazy driving around of support units

- reduce the fps impact :D

Overall interesting + challenging campaign missions that need some polishing here and there. Hope that there is soon an A2OA variant of it incl. some CO features/weapons... (guess A2 is abandoned by BIS anyway)

This RPT madness would explain the poor performance.

I got a hint on the Nil Variable problem. In Mision 3 it occurs when you pass the Trigger at 046 096 The Trigger says "{deleteVehicle _x} forEach list zivilzone;deleteVehicle zivilizone; nil = [this] execVM "scripts\createACM.sqf";"

And there you have overriden the Nil variable!

I´m currently trying to make your campaign somehow ACE and CO friendly by giving the player the NV SVD in mission one and replacing the Tanks in mission 2 with BMPs=easier to destroy

You could add some mortar fire support to mission 1

Ok I have made a Ace friendly Version. Note that Combined Ops and ACE are now required to play the campaign.

Changes:

Mission 1

-Replaced SVD Camo with SVD NSPU

-Removed NV from all low ranked CDF Personel

Mission 2

-Changed player Slot from Officer to Pilot to prevent Blackouts

-Set t72 start damage value to 0.8 so that a few good aimed rockets will be enough to destroy them

Mission 3

-replaced own tanks with T72B Variant exept the leading Tank (He is F*** anyway and you get the command ;) ). With the new Tank you have a better chance to survive a few RPG hits (a hit from a MBT is still likely to kill you)

Get it here once the original Mission makers give their OK for this

Tonci87 do you got the permission from AMS to rework their current campaign and release it? §20 includes campaigns and missions... :rolleyes:

Damn I really should have asked, well I made this for my personal enjoyment and when I was ready I thought why not to share it with the community... If Imutep or Clayman don´t want me to have this reworked Version uploaded I will remove it, for now I will just delete the Link in my last post

Yep it can be quite demotivating if someone changes your work without asking first, especially if there is something left to surprise or if its not finally done. Better report issues/bugs and wait till its "done" + the permission to port the campaign and make it run with ACE.

Well, the bad performance in the 2nd mission is the result of the HC module. Also the big rpt. Don't know whats wrong there.

I noticed all your ideas and will reworked the missions. But i release no second chapter1, it comes in the final version with chapter 2 and 3. We're on it. ;)

Sorry, but it's not a nice move if you reworked our campaign and release it without our permission. We spend a lot of time and work into it, it's not ok. But nice that you removed the link. ;)

If you want we can talk about an ACE version when we've released the final campaign.

Glad that you all enjoy the campaign so far. Anybody played the 4th mission Chernogorsk? :cool:

Ok I`ll keep the reworked campaign to myself then, no I still haven´t finished the Tank Mission, the latest Beta killed my saves....... (And by the way the tank mission is really tough, good work!)

Chernogorsk wasn't that smooth and lagfree for me. Worst thing - I could see groups spawning... kinda no-go for me and immersion/atmosphere crushing. Please don't do it again. Maybe split such missions into smaller parts and/or use DAC?

Chernogorsk was finished before DAC was released for ArmA2. I've reworked the mission with DAC and now it's smoother to play and free of lag.
