The culminating point in my long, decorated Goldeneye career was beating my high school mates 70-10 in a 3v1 session. I want this to work, but have my doubts, mostly concerning the fact that it's on the Wii.
Zipper5 74 Posted June 16, 2010 Goddamnit... Not the Wii... :butbut: Looks like it would be awesome if you didn't have to control it with motion controllers... All shooters for the Wii have sucked horribly. They've got Daniel Craig instead of Pierce Brosnan, interestingly enough.

All shooters for the Wii have sucked horribly. 10 chars of this :/ They've got Daniel Craig instead of Pierce Brosnan, interestingly enough. I guess theres some franchise branding/rules going on. It certainly feels kinda odd, but I guess with a few more films with him in it'll feel a bit more natural. I cant decide whether or not I'm excited about this or not tho. I mean... the wii... I dont want to have to buy another one just for this.
echo1 0 Posted June 16, 2010 It would be nice if it was ported elsewhere, but I don't suppose that's going to happen. The problem with reduxes is that there is an extraordinarily fine tightrope walk between taking a gigantic dump on a classic, and just remaking the old game with new graphics. Not that the latter is necessarily a bad thing, it's just that if you want to spice it up a bit, it's very difficult.
STALKERGB 6 Posted June 16, 2010 if its anything like red steel (i think thats the game i'm thinking of) on the wii then it will suck control wise, although that trailer looked better than most new bond games.

-DirTyDeeDs--Ziggy- 0 Posted June 16, 2010 (edited) Proximity Mine DM anyone? :D I dont remember a console game in which I had more fun, or laughed more. you can plug in a wired controller, it doesnt have to use the Wii remote. holy crap, having just watched the trailer, I like how it has the same missions as the original. Redux, done right! Edited June 16, 2010 by [DirTyDeeDs]-Ziggy-
jakerod 254 Posted June 16, 2010 I saw a few screenshots for this yesterday and didn't think much of it. That trailer just sold it though. I'm getting it.
Soldier of Anarchy 10 Posted June 16, 2010 Ehhh wouldn't touch a wii if you payed me. But goldeneye does live on elsewhere. http://www.moddb.com/mods/goldeneye-source
echo1 0 Posted June 16, 2010 Does anyone know if they are going to remake the single player campaign on Goldeneye Source? I can't imagine it would be too difficult given that they have most of the maps anyway, and there's no spoken dialog or particularly dramatic cutscenes in the original game itself. gossamersolid 155 Posted June 16, 2010 this looks really good, but it's on the Wii, so I'll just forget about it. I had a Wii at release and got rid of it quickly. FPS games had terrible controls no matter how they advertised it. Now if this was going to be on the 360, or PC (lol) then I'd give it a shot.
Pyronick 21 Posted June 16, 2010 Good God! I still have a Wii somewhere, now I might actually make use of it! :D

Not sure if they could make a single player. They nailed the look and feel of GoldE-N64, but the controls and graphics are soooo much better. Not sure if the source AI would work though, I remember n64 ai being easily killed. Sofar this mod works well and stays true to the original , no idea what the wii version will do. Laqueesha 474 Posted June 17, 2010 (edited) An interesting game? For the Wii? Better break out the compressed air duster. ;) ... I still have a Wii somewhere ... Oh we both have a Wii. The question is, are you man enough to use it? :D Edited June 20, 2010 by Laqueesha
jakerod 254 Posted June 18, 2010 Hands On Impression: GoldenEye 007 It mentions something about branching paths for those who would rather go stealth or action. It also mentions something about destructible environments.

max power 21 Posted June 29, 2010 Because GoldenEye was originally an N64 game.
gossamersolid 155 Posted July 1, 2010 Because GoldenEye was originally an N64 game. so because the original GoldenEye was on a console that had superior power compared to it's rival console (PSX), they decided to make it on the now worst powered console out there? What morons. I wish casual gamers would go back to whatever they did before guitar hero was "cool" and all these other crappy games and consoles (Wii) came out. Nintendo needs to go back to it's roots of the NES/SNES (IMO those were the golden days for nintendo).

Nintendo needs to go back to it's roots of the NES/SNES (IMO those were the golden days for nintendo). The Wii is a fun console. I bought it mainly so that I could play games with my parents, grandparents, siblings, and for the Zelda games. The 360, PS3, and PC don't have many games suited for playing with parents who are not used to games. My parents really like the golf and bowling games in it for example. I've had it for several months and I have only felt the need to have two games one of which came with the system. No 360 game has ever really lasted me that long and OFP/ArmA/ArmA II are the only games on PC that really last that long. There is nothing wrong with Wii. Its graphics aren't up to par with the other consoles but that doesn't matter. You can still have fun without top tier graphics.
