Drew 10 Posted November 5, 2009 Hello friends, I recently downloaded this, and its improoved ARMA 2's FPS & overall game play a bit for me, (you may/may not notice any difference) but check it out. Its worth downloading. http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html Game Booster™ FreewareHighly Recommended by Most PC Gamers! Designed to help optimize your PC for smoother, more responsive game play in the latest PC games with the touch of a button, Game Booster helps achieve the performance edge previously only available to highly technical enthusiasts. It works by defragmenting game directories, temporarily shutting down background processes, cleaning RAM, and intensifying processor performance. That means you can keep all the features of Microsoft® Windows® Vista™ and XP® ready for when you need them, but turn them off when you are ready to get down to serious business – gaming. Game Booster makes it simpler to enjoy the latest games and take your experience to a new level. All systems go!
NeMeSiS 11 Posted November 5, 2009 Is this a bot? Haha no, altough his posts does sortof look like that. :p These programs usually dont have a significant impact on performance. Simply rebooting usually gives you a bigger performanceboost if youve been doing alot of other stuff before gaming.
Drew 10 Posted November 5, 2009 I just woke up and decided to test it out I'm actually impressed with it.
cole 0 Posted November 5, 2009 I'm using it myself for a few weeks already, and it's really useful, flawless recovery of everything it disables and yes, performance in arma2 is better and much more stable (less stuttering).
InFireBaptize 0 Posted November 5, 2009 also manually terminate explorer.exe process before you start the game and re-start after you finish playing the game.
tractorking 10 Posted November 5, 2009 i use it for arma and other sims. I also use it on my old slow laptop as it free's up memory. Its not malicious at all and has a defrag for individual programs. I seem to notice arma stuff, particularly the editor modified stuff need defrag now and then.
pipscouse 10 Posted November 5, 2009 I've been using it for a good while now without any probs - and it's perfectly safe
DTM2801 10 Posted November 5, 2009 I usually dont look twice at this kind of software, but this one actually does make a difference.. very good especially when every frame counts.
STALKERGB 6 Posted November 6, 2009 how big has the performance boost been for you guys? thinking of DLing it myself.
evilfury 0 Posted November 6, 2009 Try it. You cant lose anyting. I think it just placebo effect. I have been using it for months.

EDcase 87 Posted November 6, 2009 I use it too. Haven't done any measured tests to see if it helps but shutting down any unrequired services must be a good thing. Actually I just downloaded ArmaMark so I'll see if it makes any measured difference.

Guest Posted November 13, 2009 Is this for real? I once got tricked into listening to a bunch of fake comments before, don't wanna do it again xD
kklownboy 43 Posted November 14, 2009 it is. And they have a nice defrag tool too.
LEEROY_UK 10 Posted November 14, 2009 I use GameBooster and its works very well for me , definate improvment in stability and as kklownboy siad has a defrager that you use to just defrag your arma directory if you so wish to increase performance even farther , great freeware product , gets 5 stars in my book ! pchaxor 0 Posted November 14, 2009 no need for it. just use the latest beta patch. boost enough.
Drew 10 Posted November 14, 2009 (edited) your "logical" reply baffles me. Why not use this program and the beta patch for even more boost? Edited November 14, 2009 by Drew
no use for a name 0 Posted November 14, 2009 I usually dont look twice at this kind of software, but this one actually does make a difference.. very good especially when every frame counts. same here...I use this for almost all my games and it does make a difference. For me and Arma2 it gets rid of .5 second pauses every 30 or so seconds. Also frees up a little extra RAM. I could just go thru my msconfig but that would take forever lol
viibez 10 Posted November 14, 2009 (edited) good post and some good feedback :) will do it & test this directory defrag thingy ==== I hit the link from the first post & AVG shield popped up in the window before the page loaded and said "DANGER" so i closed it real fast like ;) --ok the website is riddled with threats apparently! Microsoft Anti-virus with OneCare now shows Game Booster as being infected with the Virus:Win32/Induc.A a virus that infects Delphi library ... forums.iobit.com/showthread.php?p=22414 Found this but could not access it, threats also! im scared lol -- Heres more; Why does game booster from IObit always come up as a virus? Best Answer - Chosen by Voters My theory is that its all in Game Booster's coding. Yes, I have this program and I dont think its a virus, just something we techies call "false positives". Because of what booster does- messes with processes and shuts them down - antivirus software probably think its doing something bad. Note: Gamebooster is hosted on download.com as well as major geeks. For this reason, as well as me never experiencing adware from it, I think its clean. ;) Source(s): User and fan of Game Booster on XP and Vista OSs So is it clean? Drew 10 Posted November 14, 2009 its not dangerous, I have Windows Live One Care and it didnt come up with that message, and believe me Windows Live One care is beter than AVG, I would know because I switched from AVG to it. ---------- Post added at 07:03 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:36 AM ---------- It's perfectly safe. you probably have ur AVG set to very high in regards to downloading files and such. trust me its safe, I wouldnt post a link like that on these forums if it wasnt.
