bonchie 39 Posted October 26, 2009 I have a very fast internet connection. I never had any problems in Arma1. Now when I play multiplayer the vehicles and enemy units stutter, flash back a few steps, jump around, etc. Is this something everyone is dealing with or am I missing a fix or setting I should change? .kju 3245 Posted October 26, 2009 Depends on server location, server settings, client pings, client connection, mission in regards to server FPS (low = jumping server AI). In addition a2 has issues with (AI) units ejecting vehicles and AI units at distance not updated often enough.
bonchie 39 Posted October 26, 2009 So these are just problems everyone has and just plays through? At least when playing large games like Evo or Domination? If so ok. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing anything.

InFireBaptize 0 Posted November 2, 2009 major stuttering, pauses and skipping "whatever you wanna call it"! I don't know why not a lot of you are complaining about this, it's there! enemy AI jumping places and skipping movements no way on earth you can shoot them! I was the gunner on a Humvee and the stuttering was so bad that i couldn't focus! my ping was 60, i have high speed cable (not wireless), CPU was overcloked to 3.8 Ghz, Graphic card was running normal at 60 temp. RN Escobar 0 Posted November 2, 2009 doesn't matter what spec your client PC is on an MP game, and you must be on an MP game else thread shouldn't even exist, its all down to the server. If the game code is running on a server at 5 FPS (these are game frames they are not drawn think of them as object x at position y) it sends out the positional info of the AI units 5 times per second, that is why you get stuttering/warping AI, you could have a LN2 cooled i7 at 8Ghz hooked into 2 ASUS MARS runing off a 8 way SSD raid array, but if you play on a sheit server it will always have skipping warping AI. nobrainer 0 Posted November 5, 2009 with x58 and i7 975 Extreme Edition, I think @ 3.8GHz or higher, and 6 GB of DDR3 in trippelchannel. 6 x OCZ SSD drives in RAID with striping. We had no "warping" in MP, that was with warfare and large coops But then again, It wasn't our server to keep...and very it was very expensive...
no use for a name 0 Posted November 5, 2009 The main server I play on never has warping/lag/skipping unless it's Dom or Evo and there's 5000 AI running around. Every other mission (mostly co-op) plays silky smooth even when I have a ping of 120ms

terox 316 Posted November 6, 2009 This is mainly a server config issue. MINERRORTOSEND The higher the value, the greater the warping MINBANDWIDTH The higher the value, the greater the Jip Lag. The BIS Wiki entry for server configs is not 100% correct and with little detailed info given by BIS, it has become a guessing game to configure a server correctly. When questions are raised behind closed doors, the answer given is a link to the WIKI.

It aint cheap, but if done right you get way more for your money building your own server from your own choice of parts and paying for the COLO than you'd ever get from renting a server on a month by month basis (no matter how much you pay in advance). my 2c on the conversation
