New issue:

CTD with new ATI Drivers 9-10

It's unusual CTD because ArmA is still running but I can't bring it back.

Cpu - Phenom II 940 (@3.4GHz) AM2+

MOBO - Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe 4 | DDR2 DIMM

Ram - OCZ 4Giga PC2 6400 Dual CH. Platinum Rev.2 (4-4-4-15) @800

GPU - PALIT HD4870SE ( 9.10 )

OS - Windows 7RC2

Old issues:

I still see some white artefacts, mostly in dark forest, plain cockpits, inside humvee or uaz.

When a lot of things going on around I do not hear some sounds.

Problem with "Waiting for Host" if you got squad logo. If you got it you can stuck forever during joining on server, if you disable it you won't get this problem at all.

Strange problem with dodging animation, sometimes in dynamic combat soldier performs a strange duck on the side on which I do not have any impact.

Grass issue - something must be don with this... with grass it's very hard to spot someone who is very close to you, but you can see him very well when he is far from you, even if he got prone. It makes ghille suit useless.

Titanium vegetation and trees.

M1A1 and TAB button - sometimes when you lock target with TAB button as a gunner something happens with sight, bullet is going higher, when you press the TAB a few times everything back to normal. It happens only in M1A1 and TUSK.

- grass still sucks (you see it, the ***** shoting at you isnt seeing it. sucks most imho)

- AI detection is way too high

- still fps drops when doing 360° turns and moving near towns (buildings.pbo)

- groupleaders icons showing his people are still ugly, big as hell and have no texture

- there are still bugs in radio chat (no one read that stuff be4 release??? (german language)

- waiting for ACE mod to get many many things fixed

The 360 controller scheme is completely useless with the right trigger not exsisting. Fix that please!

I just started playing the game and so far I'm impressed with the amount of detail and realism of the game. CQB is pretty fun. Chasing chedaki out of the town and fighting them in the woods was fun.

I noticed the ai infantry sometimes don't react intelligently to tanks. I somehow snuck up on an antiair crew and they were allsitting with their legs crossed before I opened fire. Can someone explain to me how to get the support chopper to return to base after its picked you up? or to make it go to a specific position? I am playing through the campaign and I am stuck.

Also in Single Player, as mentioned above, the AI absolutely suck at driving when I sit in the backseat and command the ai to drive to a certain waypoint if they arent on a main road that's paved without too many turns. The ai sometimes crash into parked cars instead of driving around them. And one time while I was driving, one of my teammates teleported out of the car and got ran over.

When using ALT+TAB often on MP the game remains black while receiving while being able to hear sounds, read/type/listen/talk in chat => game restart needed.

"Immortal frozen AI" in MP still there even without lag.

Sure you haven't got something set up wrong? I occasionally use a PS3 controller, all the buttons work fine!

I was a huge flashpoint fan back in the day but didn't get into arma due to my computer being garbage. Now that I have a great computer I went and got arma2 and I'm pleased (and disapointed) that most of the great aspects (and bad aspects) are still there. I do have a few questions that I wans't able to find answers to on the forums/wiki.

1: why are ai vehicles seemingly more stupid than in flashpoint? In flashpoint I could plop a chopper with a simple move or seek and destroy mission near the enemy and it would devastate enemy armour and then move onto picking off infantry. Now when I place a chopper, even with a targetted destroy mission on the enemy armour, all it does is fly over the enemies and get promptly shot down. I was never too good with the editor and never could figure out the more high-end init options and scripting but what am I doing wrong? All I want is an AI chopper flying around and doing it's job, not instantly getting shot down by a single t-72 or bmp or bloody static machine gun. Tanks seem to have similar problems too, they never shoot each other properly and end up driving around randomly untill an AT soldier finally hits them.

Vehicles controls were always a bit tricky in flashpoint but I got the hand of them pretty well, but after a few days I really can't get a handle on them in arma2. My main problem is that in flashpoint if you were the commander of a vehicle you could zoom around your vehicle in freelook and simply click on enemies to target them, same when flying a chopper just point and click or click on the radar. In arma2 I'm having a horrible time commanding any vehicle.

Arty! I've read 3 walkthroughs doing everything exactly as they say yet I've never gotten it to work. I place the artiliery, I place the modules, and I put in the complicated scripts. When I load up the mission it will tell me art strikes are available and on my radio it shows up, but it's never in my list of support actions and clicking it on my radio does nothing. I downloaded an example mission with arty and it works, but i can't open the mission in my editor to really see how it works.

Civilians! Once again I've read the wiki and tutorials on how to populate towns with civilians but just like with arty I can't get it to work. Once again it's something that requires complicated init scripts with a thousand different options and arguments and I just can't get it to work.

Warfare buildings? What are these? It sounds like they are part of some awesome base-building RTS style game but I can't find much more info about it.

If anyone could give me some help, explained as if I was absolutely retarded, it would be great!

To take a chance at a cross-thread warning, I highly encourage all of you to try the latest beta (60295) use like a mod. BIIIG time improvements, but it IS a beta, so post if you find a problem so it may be fixed. Greatly increased my A2 enjoyment. Cheers

Barronjutter: Civilians are easy. Drop and play, same with vehicles. Secondary Ops module, place and Sync (F5 in the editor) with your team leader, or you. Enjoy. As for the other modules, I know as much -or as little- as you. :)

The latest betas are great for AI driving and teamwork skills! Please try them out if you haven't.
