Hvymtal 1251 Posted October 18, 2009 Wow, this pack is going to fit in perfectly w/ McRuppert's SW soldiers pack now all that is remaining: Tie Pilots T-65 X-Wing BTL-A4 Y-Wing AZ-1 A-Wing B-Wing E-Wing BTL-S8 K-Wing Imperial Ground Vehicles Rebel Ground Vehicles And we have a complete Star Wars Pack! ---------- Post added at 11:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:43 PM ---------- This should go nice with the stormtroopers! my previous post should explain that, and here's the link if it doesn't http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=81385 ---------- Post added at 11:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:45 PM ---------- I'm still messing with the flight model the Tie's fly like nothing else in arma at the moment, plenty of tweaking to be done in that area still.I'm trying to find a fine balance between movement and stability, I want them to handle really well and still be stable enough if/when people want to attack static ground objects. The way the set is now, I've been able to do straffing runs upside down and pull out without too much trouble :) This is the largest conversion project I've done so far I have as many Ties to complete as I had in all the jets I converted for Arma1. I've made massive progress on the weapons systems. Ideas for weapons I've had: Standard Laser Laser Missiles 1 Use missile (Air to Air and Air toground) ION Cannon (Still need to work out how to implement this) Freefall Bombs from Tie bombers Wow, no shortage of explosions here! BTW, be sure to have a good rate of acceleration and VTOL abilities, you honestly don't think we're going to try to take off from a runway and get ourselves killed, don't you? eble 3 Posted October 19, 2009 All Tie fighters are VTOL and they are pretty fast, infact probably too fast at 1400. I'll aim for a max speed of 1000 as they clear the maps too quick :)
Hvymtal 1251 Posted October 24, 2009 (edited) What about rate of acceleration? C130 fast? (definately not the case) AV8B fast? The insane F35 fast? FASTER??? I also saw an SU34 in there, with the assassin and bomber, what about it? Edited October 25, 2009 by Blueteamguy
grub 10 Posted January 4, 2010 What about rate of acceleration?C130 fast? (definately not the case) AV8B fast? The insane F35 fast? FASTER??? They were bullshit fast in OpF. You start her up and she would ascend off the ground vertically and then boom!
eble 3 Posted January 6, 2010 Just a quick note to say I haven't stopped working on these. Lots of problems I've run into etc with the textures. Sounds also need reworking. The original OFP release had scripted turbos for the Tie's but I think they are fast enough without assistance, nothing in game currently would out accelerate any of the ties. All the fighter variants will have very similar handling only the Tie bombers will be toned down. The lasers are coming along nicely. I've also requested permission to Cell7 for the X-wing and Millenium Falcon, had no reply but stayed tuned. Work on conversion has slowed due to a new job, the Ties will be released first followed by the various jets I'm also working on. I'll probably release an alpha to get better feedback and take it from there. Su34 is in the vid for kicks and something to shoot at. Southy
Vino3 10 Posted January 7, 2010 (edited) what is the music in the video latest video showing off the tie fighters?? :D :) :P :( Edited January 7, 2010 by Vino3
Altimeter 10 Posted December 1, 2010 Hey, im currently working on a Vulture Droid Starfighter, and have a little problem with the lasers. The method from OFP, which used a rocket-model a laserblasts looks shitty because they just look like solid objects in the ArmA Engine. Another method was to use enlarged tracers, but then I have to use a machine-gun for the lasers which results in the laserblasts "dropping" down during flight....Which also looks shitty :-( So any advice? Thanks in advance.
Zardok 10 Posted December 1, 2010 I think he might have stopped working on it. I guess its "Acayns curse" :D
topas 1 Posted December 1, 2010 Not a great SW fan myself, but hey Eble, nice work on getting these in A2 With such variety (in unconventional addons) A2 is getting more and more like OFP, hope it stays this way PS: :D:D:D
Altimeter 10 Posted December 1, 2010 I think he might have stopped working on it. I guess its "Acayns curse" :D I hope not! Also I think Eble would have given a note if he stopped working on them. Not a great SW fan myself, but hey Eble, nice work on getting these in A2With such variety (in unconventional addons) A2 is getting more and more like OFP, hope it stays this way PS: :D:D:D Yeah I know, during the last weeks some of the old OFP-creativity seems to be back. After I saw how much interest and appreciation the "Battlestar Galactica" and "Mech" thread caused, I also decided to get off my butt and do a SciFi addon. topas 1 Posted December 1, 2010 (edited) whats that Vulture you are doing...? Can only think of this one Am I right? (Never watched the newest movies, only the old ones) You didn't miss much, awful acting and naive storytelling.. plus, no fun in watching really, as you know exactly how it'll end (or continues in ep. IV). I'd say a 12 year old could think it's all cool though Edited December 1, 2010 by topas

Thanks in advance. Why not model two cylinders, one slightly larger than the other. The smaller one could be a solid colour, and the other one a translucent colour, so it looks like it has a glowing effect...that's probably the simplest and quickest way to do it. eble 3 Posted December 2, 2010 Not stopped work completely just it's slowed a lot as these were being ported to be used with McRupperts Star Wars characters. Hopefully McRuppert will finish and allow a beta and then I can do the same for the fighters.

kage74 10 Posted March 22, 2011 (edited) Are we there yet? Just got done watching Family Guy Star Wars (again) and suddenly had the urge to fly around in a Tie Fighter. No download link available yet I guess… *sigh* All the pics and videos on YouTube look great btw. Edited March 22, 2011 by kage74
