Evo~Blue V3.x

ok back after a long time on holidays

some of the missions have been tweaked and repacked - see the link in my sig below

next up:

1. remove REVIVE - it's ok but the scripts are so numerous it causes lag after a while playing

2. trim down the amount of units at base

3. Blazes is working on an Arrowhead port

4. finish array list in init file and work this through the entire script set (to maintain ease of use for all imported mods)

anyone having trouble playing this feel free to buzz me on xfire for help

sahrani and chernarus have each unmodded, modded and red versions

and panthera and duala so far have each an unmodded and modded version, red to follow.

Hey guys,

finally got around to getting Caa1 downloaded and setup, and heres whats going on:

-I downloaded every caa1 file as the addon sync wouldnt work for some reason couldn't

find the server it told me so i did it manually.

-I have all the caal files except the autumn plants, I got classic version.

-Have my folder setup with @Caa1/Addons in my Arma 2 folder.

-my target line is:

E:\Games\Arma2\arma2.exe -nosplash -world=empty -mod=@CBA;@CBA_A2;@Caa1;
@ACE;@ACEX;@A2WarMod;@A2WarModSM;@islands

The islands folder at the end has Ara 2 islands, nothing to do with Caa1.

So the situation is this, I get into Arma 2 got to the sp editor, i see all the islands there:

sara, saralite

rahmadi, porto, ect.,

-Sara is all white textures, i got some paa error, but sara lite is fine.

i go to mp start a new server and see the islands there, and the evo

missions are no where to be found, i got the first evo mission:

Well this aint my first day on making mission nor where to put them, so when i downloaded

the mission I put the pbo in my mp missions folder in the Arma 2 directory, and then i used cpbo

to extract the mission and put a copy in my mp usermade missions so i can look at it in the mp editor.

well the missions dont show up at all, anywhere.

Am i missing something?

I had the same with another extracted mission and i could only edit it from the multiplayer editor maybe that solves your problem too!?

@Eggbeast: Great to see you are still working on this. We have been hosting this mission sinds forever now with many great responces. Any other "side" projects in the making besides EVO ?

I tried that, only the islands show up in both sp, and mp editor, but not the mission,

I know the mission is supposed to show up under Sahrani, I looked for it the mp editor but what I did notice is that

Sahrani says United Sahrani, isn't that queens Gambit Sara island?

I mean if the mission is supposed to be on Sahrani and it says united

then maybe thats the issue.:confused:

But What I'm not getting is i downloaded every file there was for Caa1, I did it manually, ya it took a bit but im all setup,

so if i got every file, all pbos, and bisigns in an addons folder, like i listed in my previous post,

then why does it say United Sahrani and not the reg one like in Arma?

So either I missing reg Sahrani, which i dont how its possible,

or its the same island that somehow not reading the mission.

Does Queen Gamibit have its own version of Sahrani? I just looked on Armed Assault website and it has United Sahrani,

and thats what is showing up, in my list and not reg Sahrani like for Arma itself.

Sahrani comes in various forms:

Sahrani ---**** this is the main one

United Sahrani

Southern Sahrani

Rahmadi

Porto

The evo mission is based on "Sahrani"

Get the mission file from my sig below, don't use any others I may have posted. The sig link is aalways the latest working update

in your caa1 folder you should have:

basic worlds that are NOT pure SAHRANI

QG_Worlds -->contains porto and desert2

QG_Objects--> contains DBE1 and models DBE1

Extra_Worlds--> contains 4 files saralite and saraDBE1

MAIN SAHRANI WORLD

ArmA_Worlds-->contains vitally important pbos for sahrani - caa1_c_enableSara.pbo / caa1_c_locationDefinitions.pbo / caa1_w_desert.pbo / caa1_w_sara.pbo / and rahmadi pbo caa1_c_enableRahmadi.pbo

OTHER STUFF

ArmA_WorldIntros-->contains 2 anim pbos

ArmA_Vehicles--> contains m113, ah6, ka50, camel, uh60 and mh6

ArmA_VehicleFeatures--> ah6 and camel weapons i think

ArmA_PlantsClassic--> 1 plant pbo

ArmA_ObjectsCTI--> 2 buildings pbos

ArmA_Objects--> 8 objects related pbos

ArmA_Campaign_Animations--> 2 cutscene pbos

AND you need to run OAC_CORE

oac_core.pbo

to make the caa1 mod work at all

I got this straightened out, somehow I was missing:

caa1_w_desert

caa1_w_sara

I had all the other islands but Sahrani,

now I have it and the missions show up!

Question though, I tried this out on a created server for mp, and was wondering is the radio tower

that calls for enemy reinforcements is it random where it shows up?

as Im used to reg Evo Blue where it was usually in Paraiso's big courtyard by the church.

it's randomised within a fixed maximum radius of a fixed location. I moved it slightly more towards the church but it still shows up in the town and sometimes in the valley etc

try it and see

Great!

If anyone needs the Caa1 that is required to play this Evolution Blue in Arma2

I put together 7 zip files with all the files needed, instead of going through addonsync,

or the dev website up to you guys, this is just the Manual way for those at a loss of where to go and confused about this.

Just download, I have it setup as a mod already so all you need to do is add @Caa1

to your Main Arma 2 Directory and thats it.

Each Zip has a @Caa1 folder with and addons folder within,

and with all the files for that part in there.

It will be alot of downloading, there is no specific order that they need to be downloaded,

but you do need all the files.

Hey Eggbeast question for you sir,

I have a Arma2 Gameserver from Defcon servers,

do I need all the Caa1 files on the server to play the mission,

if the mission is on the server, or can I just connect with

clientside Caa1 and play the mission that way?

you need them on the server. in UK we use gamingdeluxe and they have caa1 as an available mod - you just click install and 30 mins later its ready

Thanks for your continued work with Evo.

I was wondering if you have any plans to create a combined ops/BAF version of Sahrani?

Be nice to see some of the new units vehicles and weapons there. Either way, I`m still enjoying it immensely. :)

Hey Eggbeast question for you,

was wondering in Evo blue on Saharani, the message comes up for the

command to press T to call support or to recurit Ai ect.,

I have my T button set for something else, what is the default button,

or command I should say that brings up this menu for command?

Also i was thinking Is it possible to put that command in the radio like

it was In Arma on the original EVO blue, just a thought.

Another question.

Is there a way to speed up the respawn, it takes forever just to get back in the game,

the respawn is set for 4 sec, but you have the revive, and then return to base thing,

is there a way to disable the revive,

and the return to base button and just have it where you instantly respawn back at base,

or have an instant respawn at where you died?

it should take no longer than 10 seconds to respawn with or without revive.

you can disable revive in the parameters section, but currently I have an outstanding action to fix the spawn location, as you often pop up 300m away from the main spawn point.

This is fixed in our taki versions for OA (by Blazes) so I need to transfer the fix into A2 versions.

T is default key for Taskmenu. you cannot rebind this and have it work in the game as far as i know.

beware custom controls, rebinding some like TAB will totally mess your game up.

I guess i could make a paramater to set the value for respawn delay.

to open the Evo Menu via the radio just put a trigger on the map or write into your mission.sqm this:

By default the menu is bound to your key you use for "Teamswitch", so not necessary "T".:)

Ok,

Is there a way to have the ranks without the multiplyer like in the Original Evo blue for Arma? like 1 point =1 point.

o sure what you mean, but to change the points required for each rank just change the paramater COLONEL RANK SCORE in the server parameters at startup. set it to 120 and then each rank is 20 up to rank 6 colonel = 120. set it to 600 and each rank is 100, up to rank 6 = 600. etc

it's all in the readme mate in my zip file

Last question,

I'm looking for the camera zoom in the scripts possibly the desc.ext,

what I'd like to do is have it where when you die that instead of the camera slowly zooming in to your dead body,

just not have it and then you respawn abck at base.

Basically when I die, i want to respawn back at base within the time set in the description,

but if I set the time to 1 sec to respawn, then you still wait for that camera to finish,

how do i remove that camera, so when you die you just respawn back at base?

the respawn delay is a deterrent to people who like to play arcade style

not sure I want to change it tbh.

I'm not talking about the respawn delay, you can set that to 0 sec and you still would wait 3-5

seconds for the camera zoom to finsh zooming in on your dead body, i just want to have it

where the zoom is not there, you just respawn

I'm asking how I can change it, i'm not asking you to change the mission in general.

I have 2 game servers which i am admin of, and I build reg Mp missions to upload to the servers,

these are private servers for my squad, and the guys like evo blue and the other versions but

would prefer to when they die to just jump back into the game then to have to wait for things like revive ect.,

Were playing an adjusted mission, that i just want to remove the zoom feature on respawn,

so that when you die you can just respawn in a few seconds and not have to wait.

I mean you got to travel to where the combat is anyways, making anyone wait any longer i

think is a waist of time, but as I said its just the mission I am playing with my guys,

not the mission in general for everyone.

where is the zoom thing in the script so i can change it for the mission me and my guys are playing?
