Trying to set up my TS3 so I can eventually join a Zeus game, but your manual doesn't provide a port #?

Hi RogueBlade

For TS3 Default port is fine.

At the moment Zeus use TS3 for outside of game chat, mission editing, support etc.

For Zeus TS2 is still used for actual in game MP nights. The reason for this is that TS3, unlike TS2, does not have channel commander yet.

When TS3 has channel commander or some similar functionality fuly operational Zeus will dump TS2.

Kind Regards walker

I'm definately going to have to come and try and hop on your server this sunday night. I'm from the UK too, so the times are perfect for me. Hopefully see some of you playing there tomorrow.

Nice work on Zeus AI by the way, good job :)

Now Running Standalone Operation Arrowhead

All you will need to play with us is a vanilla (clean install) of either Operation Arrowhead standalone or Combined ops.

For the forcerable future we will only be running Operation Arrowhead content

None of our missions will require ArmA2 content

See the initial post in this thread for more info

Our community manual has been updated to reflect these changes

I'm having a slight problem with zcommon. I still update it before joining, as I did when playing with ACE and Arma2. However the last couple of weeks the player recognition has not been working for me in OA. I don't know wich file it is but I suspect it might be missing for me. I think the Mk4 template is for players getting in and out of vehicles, Shackhud is what it is, but I can't identifie the player recognition files....

At some point last night we had 45 players on. Funny to see how having players brings even more players. That means that if you see people on the Zeus server (as you always will on Sundays and Thursdays at the appropriate time), joining will be worthwhile as you joining will increase the willingness of more people to join ;)

Hey Antigoon,

I am not entirely sure, but I think we used the ACE recognition system when we were playing ACE. Now that we have dropped ACE, we are using a home made system which is included with zcommon. It should work out of the box, no userconfig or other shenanigans.

Anyways, zcommon is strictly optional, clientside only, so you don't really need it if you're planning on a game with us. If it still doesn't work feel free to pop by the TS (3, 2 is for game nights only) and we will see if we can't get you sorted out.

Gaming last night was indeed grand, if a little chaotic. I suspect we will have to roll out some more missions, and bigger ones at that, in the coming days.

UPDATE:

I am 99% sure the file in question is called mk4_ShowInfo.

The old "Mk4 show info" used to require a userconfig file. The one that is now offered via Yoma's no longer requires it.

We no longer run ACE, we are currently only running standalone OA.

There is a Zcommon, as Hund says, available via our Yoma addon sync server.

The addons in this pack are purely clientside and although not required to play on the server, should enhance your experience.

If you are running standalone OA, then follow the instructions in the readme file that accompanies the @Zcommon pack

The old "Mk4 show info" used to require a userconfig file. The one that is now offered via Yoma's no longer requires it.

To be clear, I do use the Zcommon pack and update it through Yoma. The info when entering/leaving vehicles and the Shackhud are working perfectly for me.

What I'm missing is the name of the player near to me, if this was an Ace feature, yes ,its logical it doesnt work for me anymore. However I get the impression that other players can still view the names of other players ingame. (on thursday, I remember Hund giving me (Rashomon) and USSRsniper specific orders to clear some buildings as we were closest to them, this would not be possible without him knowing exactly who we were, I think)

Antigoon you are correct, there is such a feature in the zcommon pack.

To use it, hold space bar and place the circle on a player. His name should be visible in the top right corner of your screen. Is this how you use it?

Maybe further trouble shooting should take place in the Zeus forums, where you might get more qualified help than mine.

Yes, the "point at him and have name show up in white" is an ACE feature. The "hold spacebar and see name and group at upper right corver of screen" is a new zcommon feature.

Ok, thx people. I didn't know it was an ACE feature but after your explanations, I'll sort out my keymapping and get your system to work.

Thx for the advice.
