mankyle 391 Posted August 3, 2009 ray243, you are opening the config.bin. You should download the community tools (mainly cpbo for extracting the pbos and unrap for debinarizing the configs) Once you have done that, substitute "soldierWcrew" for "USMC_soldier_crew". hope it helps
DerRelienT 0 Posted August 4, 2009 Is there any way to get ArmA I units in ArmA 2? I've seen some screenshots of people running WWII units in Chenarus, and I was wondering if the BW units could be in game too? I tried bringing the A1 characters.pbo and renamed it to CAcharacters.pbo, but it kept giving me a "Circular addon dependency in '[XXXmod]'" error
mankyle 391 Posted August 4, 2009 use the folder way for activating mods. go to your arma 2 root folder create a new folder and name it whatever you want, for example @arma1 inside create another folder called addons and copy the arma 1 pbos there. some of them work others don't. for activating the mod folder copy you direct acces to the Arma 2.exe go to properties and edit the destination C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2.exe" -mod=@arma

.kju 3243 Posted September 6, 2009 Well a plane might have custom infantry units assigned as pilot or crew.
vengeance1 50 Posted October 23, 2009 Thanks for the feedback, can confirm that finishing the B1B finally in ArmA2 is one of my top priorities. I have had excellent success with an updated version, although it does feel like overkill in ArmA2.Some other chap is kindly porting the F117, and I've given him the source files. Rocket did you ever get the B1B Bomber done for Arma 2?
ray243 11 Posted January 24, 2010 Sorry for the big bump, but anyone still know what addons work in Arma 2? Also, how can I convert some of them to work with arma 2?
Schancky 10 Posted January 24, 2010 Also, how can I convert some of them to work with arma 2? You would first need to contact the respective author of the mod to ASK PERMISSION to modifiy their work for use in ArmA II. I've seen too many mods close their doors because people have modified their work without prior permission. I'd say around 70-80% of the mods just need a config edit to work in AmrA II. Correct me if im wrong.
eble 3 Posted January 24, 2010 Most jets from arma1 will work in arma2 with small CFG changes. althought most of the ones I did for arma1 have scripts for the special FX packages which for the most part do not work in arma2. Also the jets used scripted weapons, which can now be made using arma2 proxy system. You will see quite a few new jets released in the next month of so... stay tuned.
