they do have an civil airport and all so...why wouldnt they have a chopper(civilian) at first but when they formed the resistance what stops them from painting it green and slapping on a pk mount on the side?

Hmmm... a chopper is about ten times more expensive to buy AND maintain than a Cessna.

But hey, Everon could have had a tourist fly-around in a Bell Jetranger before the war.

Exactly! I am all for a Resistance chopper just like that! And as for the expense, they are a voluntary group so volunteers could maintain a chopper free of charge!

When was the last time you saw a helicopter in use by a resistance force? Would never happen. Helicopter training is very very extensive and first you need to be a fully graduated fixed wing pilot, and only the very elite can afford it. Then once you can fly the thing you need to buy one (millions of what ever currency you use) and pay for the fuel...and let me tell you they are not economically friendly!

The resisdents on Everon and Malden are just farmers...they do not have that sort of desposable income.

capacity?, why not just USE one or two CHINHOOKS instead, which we got in an addon earlier?..., and some more .'s ......

besides, a well placed strela or 2 against an osprey and theyre all toast, but when using 2 chinhook or maybe 4 blackhawks there more to shoot at and more probability for more people to survive, i think...<span id='postcolor'>

2 strelas takes out just about anything. 1 will take out a kiowa and even a uh60 if you are lucky.

Thats 5 vs. 2, and you wanna make that 6 vs. 2. The US has gotten enough addons lately. I seriously vote for some Soviet hardware. KA-50 or MI-28 attack helicopters to counter the apache, MI-26 heavy lift helo to counter the Chinook, BTR-80 or MT-LB apcs (they are a so vital part of the Soviet/Russian infantry combat that i find it odd that they have been overlooked)...<span id='postcolor'>

Yeah well, unless you had noticed, the Mi24 is the most heavily armoured helicopter in the game. An AK will take out a cobra and a stela will take out an apache. And look at the weapons the Mi17 has. 192 57mm rockets. I love that chopper. Id rather fly an Mi17 or an Mi14 than an apache or a cobra anyday.

There would be a tourist industry, and choppers would be used to fly tourists to and from Everon. Chopper prices in UK currency actually start at about Å65,000. The pilots of the tourist choppers would be pretty well paid - I found out that a chopper pilot is a nicely paid job. And they can use the choppers for tourists anyway!

When was the last time a Resistance army used a chopper? WHO CARES? OPF is a goddamn GAME, not real life!

I think the CH53E is one of the best heavy lift/troop transports that the USMC has. I'm in the USMC and my job is a CH53E mech and I've seen a lot of helo's and the 53 beats them hands down. There is only one helicopter world that can lift more then the 53 and thats a russian heavy lift helo (can't remember the name)

As far as the Osprey...My squadran shares a hanger with the VMMT-204 Osprey Squardan. The last time they were able to fly one wasover a year and a half ago and when they were flying, all you heard from the aircrew were complaints. The aircraft is a flying coffin. I lost a friend in one of the crashes. To glorify that death trap would bring nothing but pain to those who have lost friends and family because of them. The ONLY reason the Government is still testing them is because they dumped so much money into it they don't want to back out, so they would rather kill more good Marines in testing it until it works. I don't even see why we need them in the first place. The CH-46 has been doing the medium lift jobs great since veitnam. If it ain't broke, why fix it.
