I also dont like nazis, terrorists, extreme feminists and so on.... But what gives me the right to deside whats wrong and what right... Seems to me like some poeple are afraid of not liking gay poeple because they think its evil not to like them or something. I think homosexuality is pretty sick, U might think stoning people to death because they cheat on theire partners is sick, U might think child pornografy is sick, U might think alot of things are sick but when it comes to homosexuality U are appearantly a complete ass if U think thats sicks. Nothing wrong with being Czech, though this is not the best time to be Czech cuz its jsut been flooded... Nothing wrong with being illiterate, just kinda sucks that poeple are born that way and with all other kinds of handicaps. Anyway I think that BIS got FIA from theire favourite game before they made OFP -> Fia med knuff.<span id='postcolor'> Most people that are iliterate wouldn't be iliterate if the states that they live in had a better education system. Comparatively few people at iliterate due to mental health...anyway Tell me more about this 'Fia med Knuff' ...this sounds like a good lead. Jubs

When did this descusion become about machine pistols. Anyway...off the top of my head I can't think of any 'west' machine pistols as such. Jubs

    Fia

Well it would make logical sense if it were a Czech acronym (the island apparent native language), but I doubt it was really thought about, just slapped on the vehicles without much thought by the designers...I mean really it needent mean anything. I like to think it means something like Malden Islands Freedom Fighters ...only in Czech... but I don't know Czech ...so I can't help you there... Of course if they were a sinicle pessimistic militia then maybe 'F*cked In the Arse' would be fitting... Jubs

I find the keyboard difficult to use when flying anything. I have tried it, but I find I cannot have nearly the same sort of control as I would when using the mouse. I use the mouse all the time and I find it perfectly adiquate and consider myself a damned good pilot. Using the mouse gives you a far greater response and feels just right, particularly for low altitude flight. If I am flying quick and the air is safe I fly just above the tree line. If there are enemys about then I'll fly as close to the ground as possible, jumping up to avoid obsticles such as trees, buildings, rocks...people. When enguaging soft targets not likely to fight back I'll strafe an try to keep as straight a line of fire as possible for the gunners ease with the chain gun. If I am enguaging tanks or AA then I'll use 'pop-up' tactics. If I want to look around I use the keyboard, but I rarely have to. Jubs

Silenced pistols would accompany a sniper very well... Jubs

    Concusion

Thanks bn880. I'll give that a go see how it works. Better get that sound recorded. I don't suppose anyone has it to hand or knows if it is available anywhere out there do they? Thanks Jubs

    Concusion

This isn't for a cutscene. The fade to black is a good idea, one that I will probably be using anyway. The mission starts you by a damaged M113 (you've just jumped out) all your team and the gunner (who is still alive at this point) are all around you using the M113 as cover and shooting at various enemies littering the street. The commanders waypoint is set to run away from the M113 and too cover, your teams units will make there way that way when they are not enguaging. About 10 meters from the M113 all around are triggers that will blow it up after 15 seconds (simulating a fuel leak or something similar). Beta testing shows that on average about 15 seconds after this trigger has been tripped the player has moved just out of the range to get hurt by the explosion (which is good), but I'd like to create some sort of concusion. I'm am trying to explain it as best I can. Try to remember the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan when the main dudes hear keeps going. It has since occured to me what I could do if it were possable (as well as have a second of so of black fade) is to have the sound effect for your heart rate increasing and breathing gettting heavier (as if you were sprinting). Does anyone know how this could be done? It would obviously need to go hand in hand with the rest of the world being silenced. Thankyou, Jubs

    Concusion

Hey, I was hoping someone might have some ideas of how I could simulate mild concusion on the character with a trigger or a script. I thought maybe I'd download a sound effect from somewhere online to simulate something like this. Maybe some combat ambiance that I could warp and make echoey with some sort of sound utility and then have it triggered with and explosion. However, for this to work I figured I'd have to have all other sounds dim dramatically whilst this sound effect played. But it occured to me that what I could do is just have the sounds drop alot after this explosion goes off, to simulate like the hearing of the character has been disrupted. This could hopefully create enough confusion that the effect might be achieved on it's own. The sound would then come back after about 15-20 seconds to simulate the characters recovery. But how I could do this I don't know...anyone have any ideas? Jubs

    F-16 final version

dkraver: Unfortunately the OFP engine does not support more than one type of missile animation per vehicle. Meaning for example you can't have both Mavericks and Smart Bombs. You can however have missiles and rocket pods, because they work in much the same way as a guns within the engine. This is why all the addons out there have just Sidewinders or Mavericks or Smart Bombs and not a realistic combination of many different armourments. It is a shame because a realistic load out is imposible. shernt250: The lighting on the aircraft I seem to remember is generic and can not be altered. Jubs

Jubs<span id='postcolor'> Wasnt disagreeing at all. just pointing out that for Soviet forces, it would be a bit early, therefore, better for the Resistance. For the Commies, how about one of the "Hush Puppies" that they loved so much? Mind you, the AI may not be able to use it properly.<span id='postcolor'> Actually, the Stechkin entered service in 1951. Ok...whilst not modern, it makes the Tokarev seem positively ancient (it entered service in 1930...and is in the game). It did cease manufacture in 1975, however, when the AKSU-47 was developed, but a few still remain in use. I would love to see it in game...but for the Russians... Jubs

    Silenced pistols?

Just a reply to what few people have said. Ran...the Stechkin is not a SMG, it is a pistol. But I can understand where you are coming from. It was originally used as such in Soviet forces, but it was replaced by the more reliable AKSU versions of the AK47 in the early 1970s. The fully automatic feature could achieve 850 rds/min. Marshmanguy...sure in fully automatic, held as a pistol the gun is uncontrollable. But it is very practical at a rate of about 80 rds/min fired in short bursts with a butt-stock attached. Commonly (and with this models case) the butt-stock aslo acts as the pistol's holster. Wardog...yes the Stechkin was very often fitted with a silencer and why as an option for the resistance? The Stechkin was issued to officers and NCOs of verious Soviet units. Anyway...that's enough of me... Jubs

    Military bases

It is definately open to interpretation. I don't believe any of these places mentioned are military installations. The ones on Everon, Kolgujev and Malden are obvious...but there is nothing like that on Nogovo. But it doesn't matter...does it? Jubs

    Who was the tasmanian devil?

Doesn't Victor know who it is? Right when he first hears 'Tasmanian Devil' in the cutscene he mutters to himself 'Tasmanian Devil, Tom...' and then one of the other resistance members comes up to him and says 'Who is Tasmanian Devil?' and Victor goes 'mmm...I have no idea...' But who the hell Tom is I anyones guess! I think he is the guy who gives you the lift into town in his car in the first mission. Jubs
