Placebo 29 Posted March 19, 2009 (edited) So it seems people are making separate threads for each basic question, no need at all to do that, so post them in here and maybe if you ask nicely you'll get an answer. One good place to start: Dslyecxi's ArmA2 Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures Guide http://ttp2.dslyecxi.com Edited June 19, 2009 by Placebo
Depleted 10 Posted June 19, 2009 Hola... In warfare/scenario's i will always buy a corpsman or two to have in my squad, yet they never heal shot teammates or myself even when i press the Injured button on the commands list, they just stand there and continue on like as if nothing happened. How can i get healed by a corpsman who's in my squad? sometimes if i dont have one in my squad and call for medical support i will get some popup box with like a error of a voice that couldn't play or something similar. :s
nedley 10 Posted June 19, 2009 Select the injured player, F2 or example, and once highlighted press 6 (action menu) and the 1. Heal at corpsman, or similar. You can do with with both units, medic and injured player. Happy healing.
Depleted 10 Posted June 19, 2009 ahh thanks nedley :D this game needs a manual.. i dont use the command menu for anything besides getting into formation :P
nedley 10 Posted June 19, 2009 No probs cheif. Me and my buddies are having a briefing into arma2 tonight if your interested. We'll run through the basics, commands, comms, and some tactics, battle simulations etc. Once you’ve got the grasp of the command system you’ll have your ‘micro’ down to a tee, ordering your troops to do more complex things in no-time. TrueSlawter 10 Posted June 19, 2009 adding to the original when your the one thats down how do you get the corpman's attention? ive crawled up to him but he ignores me and lets me die :(
maddogx 13 Posted June 19, 2009 If you are not the team leader, pressing 5-4 will make you declare that you are injured. Normally the team leader will usually order a medic to help you.

Depleted 10 Posted June 19, 2009 Nedley i'd love to learn the basic commands with a decent group of players but i lag my nuts off on official servers.
Depleted 10 Posted June 19, 2009 Sorry if this has been posted before but the command system really makes no sense to me lmfao, i come from the basic world of battlefield 2 hehe. I'm usually team leader with a squad of AI, i open the command menu, target the humvee and select the Get in Humvee option, yet the voice command comes out as Rearm at humvee instead of get in. It's frustrating because i don't want to leave them behind yet i want to get to the next objective quickly. The commands menu doesn't look like it even works for me to be honest.. i'm only able to tell them to get in formation, everything else like getting a AT specialist to target a BMP just doesnt work. dvolk 10 Posted June 19, 2009 It's kind of funny how you can be dying and screaming on the floor and friendly units not in your squad just walk by like nothing's happening.
Depleted 10 Posted June 19, 2009 So true dvolk..so damn true, thats why i always roll as a corpsman if i can. i actually aid my teammates lmfao.
the unknown 0 Posted June 19, 2009 used to be select units with the F keys the 4, number of vehicle, position of people. Its not that hard I suggest you follow the tutorials if there are any (dont have the game yet), or els open up the editor place a group and make your self the leader of it. Then just work out what all the commands do and how they work.
S7_Mega 10 Posted June 19, 2009 In Arma1, tiddle key to select all units, cursor over the vehicle and press space bar. Easiest way if the transport can fit everyone.

Do you by any chance have a modified BIN file like from the anti-HDR/blur mod? If so, this is what is causing this problem. I had the same problem you are describing, got rid of the bin file and everything worked like normal.
icedz 10 Posted June 19, 2009 I completed the boot camp etc where you tell your team mates to get into the helicopter and it flies off etc but it doesnt tell you how to tell the pilot where you want to fly to.. So in a mission i called support and a helicopter came, I tell the squad to enter the chopter and then its just stuck there i tried using the map and stuff to get it to fly there but no luck :( maybe some1 would be kind enough to explain how to tell the pilot where you want to be dropped off to? Depleted 10 Posted June 19, 2009 well if they are so basic, why isnt there a manual? should tell players how to operate the silly ingame command menu.
Placebo 29 Posted June 19, 2009 There is a manual, having spent time working on it I can attest to that, if you don't have a manual, contact the publisher of your version.

Mcwaffle 10 Posted June 20, 2009 I'm having problems understanding a lot of the multiplayer maps, it seems like people just wander off, some stand afk and no task in the diary and warfare buildings randomly placed. Just a few enemies on the map. No communication what so ever... Am I blind?

Just a few enemies on the map. No communication what so ever... Am I blind? My first couple of multiplayer experiences today were very similar to this. People standing around - people running in random directions, no communication. I'm guessing this can just be put down to the experience level of the other players on the server? Nobody seemed willing/able to take charge and organise the noobs (noobs like me).
