Cionara 10 Posted May 29, 2009 Hi guys. I'm downloading Arma II right now from gamesplanet.com for 39,99€. As far as I know there will be no manual attached to the installation. Is there maybe a manual PDF-File or something ? Because I think I really need it, I am maybe the biggest noob in Arma in whole Germany ;-)
eble 3 Posted May 29, 2009 yeah the manual is inside as a PDF, all in German so you should be good to go :)
Cionara 10 Posted May 29, 2009 Oh that's awesome :D thank you for the info !
Placebo 29 Posted May 29, 2009 And before anyone asks, no it's not ok to share any versions of the manual around ;)
kabong 1 Posted June 19, 2009 Just so everyone is aware, the Nexway download version of ArmA 2 does NOT include a PDF of the manual. :P See Placebo - I didn't make the same mistake twice. ;)
EricM 0 Posted June 19, 2009 There's a pdf manual (88 pages) in the german download version from Metaboli too.
Demiun 10 Posted June 19, 2009 I have downloaded the nexway version and miss the manual. Who should I ask it for please ?
kabong 1 Posted June 19, 2009 Whatever you do, DON'T ask for it here - Placebo closed the last thread asking for it. You will have to contact Nexway. For english support, the email provided in the order confirmation is arma2_en@nexway.com. I have emailed complaining about the missing manual but have not heard back from them yet. If anyone does hear from them, please post what they had to say about it here, so that we are all aware of their position on this.
maddogx 13 Posted June 19, 2009 I have downloaded the nexway version and miss the manual. Who should I ask it for please ? Imagine you walked into a local multimedia store and bought a hardcopy there. Then you came home and realized that the box did not contain a manual. Who do you ask? kabong 1 Posted June 19, 2009 I emailed Nexway about 6 hours ago and no response. Looks like we won't get a fix until next week at the soonest. :P
von_paulus 0 Posted June 19, 2009 505 version doesn't bring any pdf manual.
kabong 1 Posted June 19, 2009 505 version doesn't bring any pdf manual. Not even a pdf manual?! I find that hard to believe. From what I've read, the German box and digital download both have a pdf manual. Why wouldn't 505 have it?
zoog 18 Posted June 19, 2009 That would be a scam. You get it digital, most of the times you pay the full retail price, but you don't get a case, printed dvd, manual or even a digital one! I hope it's not the standard for 505 and that it's just a mistake of nexway.
von_paulus 0 Posted June 19, 2009 I'm referring to the 505 DVD version. I checked my DVD and installation.. I don't own the 505 digital version.
Jorge.PT 10 Posted June 19, 2009 Paulus does it have a papper manual at least, or no manual at all?
MehMan 0 Posted June 19, 2009 You get the paper manual in the 505 version, that's why there's no pdf.
von_paulus 0 Posted June 19, 2009 Paulus does it have a papper manual at least, or no manual at all? Yes there's a paper manual (as usual) like MehMan said.
galzohar 31 Posted June 19, 2009 Did anyone get the game online from a place that supplied an English manual PDF? Or do they all come with none/German?
Zaldronthesage 10 Posted June 19, 2009 Well that is just something...I am thinking that the reason some online distrubiters are not including the manual for download, and correct me if im wrong, may be in part because the manual contains the cd key for the game. Given the fact that the game is brand new, I do not have a prob waiting for the manual to come out and frankly, I find more useful information from the ShackTac ArmA2 TTP2 Guide then anything. See you all on the battlefield. <S>
Comet 10 Posted June 20, 2009 This sucks. They should at least post the manual and map pdf online. I bought the game on nexway and I'm new to Arma. This game has so many options that I really find it bad to not have a manual around. Isn't there any place where I can get it?
CarlGustaffa 4 Posted June 20, 2009 PDF Map at least, found in this thread (since it also includes other versions). Also a search for map would have given plenty results.
hoak 0 Posted June 20, 2009 I'm curious, why BI would not allow sharing or even offer direct download of the ArmA II Manual? It's good PR in general to offer the manual for your game or product, many a software Developer does this, and most marketing and PR agencies will recommend it. Even more confounding, if ArmA II is like ArmA in this regard, Dslyecxi's Guide will surpass the manual in every regard, obviating concern for any retail value of the manual, making it a lost PR and good will opportunity to boot. :butbut:
