New Taviana Screen Shots!

Hey dudes,

I'm still working on Taviana and here are the last screenshots that I will release before I release the Taviana BETA some time between the 1st and 10th of September 2009

First are the new rock textures that Marcomio made for the island, very big thanks to him and be sure to check out his work, retextured kolgujev, everon and malden :-)

Taviana will have a fully realistic power grid with wires, wind turbines, transformer stations basically something that BIS should have done on Nogova a long time ago.

This is my louzy attempt on creating a coal mine, it will look better once it's finished :rolleyes:

And finally a shopping mall with fully accessible stores that are full of goods, this shopping center is based on a real one located in the town of Cesky Krumlov, Czech Rep.

The BETA release of the island has been porstponed a couple of weeks as I am in the middle of implementing a tamway system in to the capital city and there are still come bugs, I will release some screens shots in the next couple of days, sorry for the delay guys :(

Hello fellow forum members,

You might have thought that I gave up on my Taviana project, but I didn't. I promissed the BETA to be released a few weeks ago, sadly I was too busy with other things and I couldent prepare it in time. But now I'm back to work and I've been very busy catching up.

Here are some new screenshots to before I release anymore information and hopefully the BETA.

Please not theat these are work in progress screen shots and do NOT reflect the final out come of the work at its best quailty.

The capital city will feature a fully working tram system, in the screen shot bellow you can see some tram rails going around a two floorr shopping center, and if you look closely you can see a gray mesh of a tram, I will release more pictures of that once I get it textured.

Bellow you can see a screenshot of the very first escalator in a BIS game :yay:, this is located in the shopping center in the screen shot above but the main transtation that goes underground has an escalator too :)

And here you can see a bus station that I have just roughly compleated, still needs a tiny bit of work.

Looks amazing! This will be a complete new OFP-experience with those great new stuff! I'm sure, that this will give a real good city-life feeling to OFP! Keep on this great work!

When will you put Download link up? i want this island so much!

I'm trying to finish the capital city which takes up a lot of land and has many cool features before I release the beta so there would at least be one solid finished place on the island, I know I promissed the beta last month but I had to give it more time, hopefull it should be done by the end of October :)

Yep, Marcomio is generous enough to make some nice textures for me :) He will have his own special reward for that on the island, watch the screenshots I release this week Marcomio :)

Hey everyone,

It's been a long time since I updated this thread, mainly

because I am too busy working on the island and balancing that with life.

Anyway as I said previously "hopefully" that BETA will be ready by the 31st of October,

unfortunately I under estimated that and it looks like I will have to give it 2 more weeks.

The reason why I keep postponing this is because I am working on

the hardest and most complex part of the island, the capital city.

This city cover 2x3km2 the biggest proper city in OFP, and it has

many features yet unseen in any BIS game and many big buildings.

Anyway here are a few more screenshots; I will keep posting

more screenshots during these 2 weeks until the BETA is released

to keep the thread more alive and you guys something to look at.

To start off I have created 2 maps of the island:

Bellow is a map of the island, note that no towns, roads etc...

are vissable on this map just to not spoil the surprise.

Here are 2 maps of were the island is fictionally located in the world (this one is in english):

This one is in Tavianske (Tavianian) a mixture of all Slavic languages put together to create a new one.

This in a screen shot of the national bank building "Narodna Banka", I am planning to make all the windows

see trough like the building in the next screenshot but that depends on the performance feed back from the

BETA, also the building features a functional clock.

This is a screenshot of the auto salon (place were cars are sold) called "Autosalon Sabina", yes I forgot

to mention the capital city has been renamed to Sabina. On the picture you can see Trolleybus lines above

the road etc...

Here is a picture of the river banks surrounding the city river, there is also something like a tunnel on

the river banks so you can walk under the road to the other side.

As I said before, I will try to keep thsi thread posted with new screenshots very often these 2 weeks until the BETA comes out, hopfully I should manage to put new screenies every 2 - 3 days.

Wow!!

Screens makes me speechless - it looks absolutely stunning impressive! I'm sure that will be the best big city map OFP has ever seen! Keep on your fantastic work, mate.:)

Looks great! Among other things, like retextured/rebuilded OFP islands and WW4 Mod I am still waiting to re-install OFP and get a good & classic flash. :o

I do apologise for that, it's my mistake and I might cange it if I have time, but a map isnt so important as the island it self so it will have to wait

Here are some screenshots as promissed I will update this thread untill the BETA release :)

Bellow is a picture showing some shop signs. "Posta" meaning "Post", "Chleba" Bakery (Bread) and "Kodek" is Kodak.

This is a picture of a fish shop, noatice I have modified the BIS buildings to suit what kind of shop it is, in this case fish are behind the winodows. Don't mind the bad traffic sign, there are still a few bits that need to be done before the beta comes out.

Nice, those little details creating a good environment for a busy atmosphere....for the rybárna I must say, I just noticed some fishy smell (maybe, it came from the rybár himself....) :D

Nice work. Keep it up :) . I know how you get that sign right: Shorten that pole and put that sign on top of that pole and make that sign double sided(Both sides are same sign). Maybe that works.

Nice work. Keep it up . I know how you get that sign right: Shorten that pole and put that sign on top of that pole and make that sign double sided(Both sides are same sign). Maybe that works.

For the sign, I used the "no entry" sign from the OFP data 3D folder, basically its a pole and a double sided square on top, one side has the back of the sign and the other side has the front, but somehow I acidentally swapped them :o gonna have to fix that later :)
