yanquis 10 Posted October 24, 2009 probably normal-high settings aim1? you really shouldnt have a problem, but ALL systems except for a very lucky few seem to take some or a lot of tweaking. kryos, forget about FPS...ppl are too focused on it here i think. ive never gotten good FPS at the best times (i always want to say, according to fraps) yet the game is perfectly playable and very responsive and fast at those times...i should say that its not always consistent though i think i may have finally gotten there! Askedal 10 Posted October 24, 2009 Hi. How do you think the game will run on the following setup: Intel Q8200 2,33GHz Radeon HD4870 1GB 4GB RAM XP 32-bit but will probably get Win7 32 or 64-bit. I am not excpecting any wonders but what settings could I excpect? Is good fps with everything on normal reasonable? Thanks.
mula 10 Posted October 25, 2009 Hi.. I remember playing the demo version on steam and it was quite "heavy" for my pc... By the way, I heard there was some updates which helped a lot the performance, anyway, could anyone tell me if I would be able to run "good" with my: C2D E8400 2x2gb ATI HD4870 1gb Win 7 RC 64 thank you! I think u can even play higher than that resolution, just reminder 1280*1024 is a standard resolution for next generation game nowadays, so it wouldn't be problem, ur video card is more than capable if only plays on 1280*1024 Enjoy the game mate :D

TBH, if you are going to be gaming, you are better off buying a gaming desktop. I think the second option is much better, since the different here is LGA 1156 and LGA 1366;the memory;n the mobo chipset (X58 is better than P55;P55 is upgraded version of P45 with compatibility on latest processor such CoreI7), so I recommended u to take the second option :) If u r looking for spec primarily for plays ARMA II, then both option is more than u need, but for future the second option is the best here. bhaz 0 Posted October 26, 2009 Can the dedicated server run with lower requirements, considering there's no graphics / GUI running? I have an older machine that I'd like to turn into a server, and I'm wondering if a single core will handle the AI. It won't be running anything massive like Warfare, just small 3-4 man coops. Dont buy i7950, rather buy i7920 and decent air cooler, like noctua, or megahalem u mentioned... In second confo u can set up ramdrive to put all the game in it and run it perfectly. Go 12GB If u realy cant change the system 2, buy it and then buy just some decent air cooler, (like 50$ more). :)

I'm happy with the performance with my troops on the ground, but while flying around the a-10 or harrier I get stutters and tree/building popup.Of course if I turn down visability the performance improves, but it sucks flying around in a haze. This will definitley influence my upgrade decision. DDR3 1600 wil only be useful if you overclock a lot (on standard speeds the memory just runs under spec or the bandwith isn't needed), save yourself the money and go with some low voltage (1.65 or less) DDR3 12800, you can still overclock fine with that. The case you have there seems pretty large so you could fit an impressive cpu cooler like the scythe mugen 2 or something (just make sure it fits on socket 1156). This will reduce noise quite a bit and you will be able to do a nice overclock some day. Edited October 27, 2009 by Leon86
