Will my PC Run this? What CPU/GPU to get? What settings? System Specifications.

Recommended Posts

probably normal-high settings aim1? you really shouldnt have a problem, but ALL systems except for a very lucky few seem to take some or a lot of tweaking.

kryos, forget about FPS...ppl are too focused on it here i think. ive never gotten good FPS at the best times (i always want to say, according to fraps) yet the game is perfectly playable and very responsive and fast at those times...i should say that its not always consistent though i think i may have finally gotten there!

Hi.

How do you think the game will run on the following setup:

Intel Q8200 2,33GHz

Radeon HD4870 1GB

4GB RAM

XP 32-bit but will probably get Win7 32 or 64-bit.

I am not excpecting any wonders but what settings could I excpect? Is good fps with everything on normal reasonable?

Thanks.

Hi..

I remember playing the demo version on steam and it was quite "heavy" for my pc... By the way, I heard there was some updates which helped a lot the performance, anyway, could anyone tell me if I would be able to run "good" with my:

C2D E8400

2x2gb

ATI HD4870 1gb

Win 7 RC 64

thank you!

I think u can even play higher than that resolution, just reminder 1280*1024 is a standard resolution for next generation game nowadays, so it wouldn't be problem, ur video card is more than capable if only plays on 1280*1024

Enjoy the game mate :D

I am looking for a new computer right now and I need your help!

Would you recommend me an OC processor?

Is an OC processor worth the money (extra cooling etc.) and worth the extra noise it makes?

System 1:

GIGABYTE GA-P55-UD6 P55 LGA 1156

- INTEL Core i7 860 @ 4.0 GHz

- Prolimatech Megahalems Cooler

- 4096MB DDR3-1600 Samsung selected

- 4096MB DDR3-1600 Samsung selected

- Samsung 22x+/-RW schwarz SATA

- 128GB Samsung SSD MLC

- 1.0TB Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3

- 1024MB XFX ATI HD 5870 GDDR5

- SB Creative X-Fi extreme Audio PCI-e

- Coolermaster HAF 932 Black Tower

- be quiet! Sys-Power 700W 80Plus

- MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

System 2:

ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 X58 LGA 1366

- INTEL Core i7 950 4x 3.06GHz 8MB

- Intel Original-Kühler LGA 1366

- 6144MB DDR3-1600 Samsung selected

- 6144MB DDR3-1600 Samsung selected

- Samsung 22x+/-RW schwarz SATA

- 1.0TB Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3

- 128GB Samsung SSD MLC

- 1024MB XFX ATI HD 5870 GDDR5

- SB Creative X-Fi extreme Audio PCI-e

- Coolermaster HAF 932 Black Tower

- be quiet! Sys-Power 700W 80Plus

- MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Both systems cost about the same (2000€.)

Should I go for the OC with less RAM?

Or for the i7 950 4x 3.06GHz with 12 MB (thinking RAM disk here)

Liquid i7 920 @ 4,0 with 12 GB RAM is an alternative but it costs 600€ more and I do not know if it is worth it??

P.S. I do not have the knowledge and time to assemble a system myself so that is not an alternative.

It should run A2 well.

TBH, if you are going to be gaming, you are better off buying a gaming desktop. I understand that the laptop is probably being purchased for more than just gaming but laptops don't make good gaming machines (unless you are spending a lot of money on a laptop specifically designed for gaming)

I think the second option is much better, since the different here is LGA 1156 and LGA 1366;the memory;n the mobo chipset (X58 is better than P55;P55 is upgraded version of P45 with compatibility on latest processor such CoreI7), so I recommended u to take the second option :)

If u r looking for spec primarily for plays ARMA II, then both option is more than u need, but for future the second option is the best here.

Can the dedicated server run with lower requirements, considering there's no graphics / GUI running? I have an older machine that I'd like to turn into a server, and I'm wondering if a single core will handle the AI. It won't be running anything massive like Warfare, just small 3-4 man coops.

Well 2nd is better.

But...

Dont buy i7950, rather buy i7920 and decent air cooler, like noctua, or megahalem u mentioned...

In second confo u can set up ramdrive to put all the game in it and run it perfectly.

Go 12GB

If u realy cant change the system 2, buy it and then buy just some decent air cooler, (like 50$ more).

Anyone with a higher end system experiencing smooth gameplay while flying jets? I have a mid range sytem. I'm happy with the performance with my troops on the ground, but while flying around the a-10 or harrier I get stutters and tree/building popup.Of course if I turn down visability the performance improves, but it sucks flying around in a haze. This will definitley

influence my upgrade decision. Thanks

You need faster HDDs, SSDs or try using a RamDisk solution for best results. It is down to loading stutter.

Maybe try a defrag on frequent occasions too as streaming games appreciate it.

Thanks for the advice. So you have 0 lag flying? How about pop ups?

Thanks again:)

core i5 uses motherboards with dualchannel ram. get a 2x2GB set. DDR3 1600 wil only be useful if you overclock a lot (on standard speeds the memory just runs under spec or the bandwith isn't needed), save yourself the money and go with some low voltage (1.65 or less) DDR3 12800, you can still overclock fine with that. The case you have there seems pretty large so you could fit an impressive cpu cooler like the scythe mugen 2 or something (just make sure it fits on socket 1156). This will reduce noise quite a bit and you will be able to do a nice overclock some day.
