ArmA II: The Vehicles

Recommended Posts

At least the cobra has now finally sidewinder rockets available...

A reminder to BIS: please this time no "TAB-FIRE-TAB-FIRE" nonsense, i never saw it worse arcade-like than in OFP1 and Arma1 with missle-locking".

For instance: Sidewinder could have a lock-on phase of some seconds random, to simulate at least something.

Also it makes a disticntive "hummm" sound when trying to lock on to a IR-Source and a even louder "hummm" when finally locked-on.

Also i hope that ultra-unrealistic radar on top is gone for vehicles which don't have a active radar in RL.

Helicopters are up.

Nice to see that the Ka-52 now has camo instead of the black painting. Again we have some confirmed variants missing like Mi-17 for CDF/ChDKZ, Mi-24V (Spiral ATGM) and Mi-24P (fixed dual 30mm gun).

I don't think BIS showing all variants, at least we know that there are more tounge2.gif

Yes, but maybe there are multiple variants too?

Maybe Russia is not the only faction using the KA52 ?

I was hoping for a CH-53. No luck I guess. Glad we get the hind back though.

A little interesting, that the V-22 isn't in there. To be honest, I don't know what it is officially, whether it be an airplane or helo.

I hope the KA-52 comes in the black camo though, its truly symbolic of the helo.

Can't wait to see how the M240s function on the UH-1, as well as the cannon on the KA-52. wink_o.gif

No Apache? I dunno if marines use it but its a great bird. Maybe they add it later like M270 etc.

So is the MLRS and Blackhawk. Granted I think thats actually a Knighthawk so maybe we get Blackhawks and Knighthawks.

EDIT: Doesn't that UH-1 have chain guns and not M240s?

Too bad. But still, the whole Apache system with little bird designating would be nice to have in the game. Although cobra is great too.

EDIT: Yeah, gettling cannon for sure. I remember from vietnam movies smile_o.gif. Chinook would be nice too.

It is a bit of a shame that the CH-46 or CH-53 did not make it in. At least we get a V-22. wink_o.gif

I think that the V22 will be classed as a VTOL aircraft. i'm happy we got the MLRS and the hind looks very nice.

I'd have liked this one too.

It would have been my favourite U.S. unit in game.

Anyone know if the tanks will be able to fire guided missiles?

It would be nice to see them able to utilise their range advantage.

And the top down attack missiles the Russian tanks fire would be cool if BIS has already mastered the Javelin animations.

Wow a Grad. I would like to see the T-54 from OFP again though. +Where are the civ vehicles?

I believe the one with the car is all the civilian vehicles so I think its in there.

Quote[/b] ]Its a Knighthawk man!

I figured as much but they call it a blackhawk and say its from the Army.

Did they really scrap the Sea Knight or is it just not in the list?

MLRS is in the tracked vehicle section now.

Sea Knight was never confirmed and I was really hoping for that and a CH-53. Apparently so were many others.
