FOV (Field of View) Issue 1.15b Solution?

Has anyone figured out a solution to the FOV (Field of Vision) problem with 1.15b?

What exactly is the problem you ask?  Fourm member Lee_H_Oswald brought up this issue in the 1.15b Feedback thread and even said the problem could not be resolved by using the UNAFOV addon, so I just want to know if anyone has found a solution? It's driving me nuts! And don't suggest the double-tapping of the minus key on the numpad as that gives a 'fish bowl' view... not the intended fov. How do we make it like 1.14 again?

some guy said its due to problems with key assignment for

zoom in or out.

try to reset all keys or try to set or unset all zoom actions to a key

Failed to get it looking like 1.14. Tried resetting all controls to Default. Restarted. No joy. Tried just setting all Zoom Controls but didn't do anything.

Color me stumped. Any other suggestions? confused_o.gif

I'd suggest that you check your Graphics Settings and try another monitor aspect ratio. If you're set for 4:3 on a 16:9 monitor, your FOV will not be as you expect.

I run a 30" @ 2560x1600 which is a 16:10 ratio, but I run 16:9 so I get a slightly wider FOV (effectively increasing my peripheral vision.

Tried that. I'm running in 1920x1200 @ 16:10. The view is definitely pushed in more and I tried deleting all the Track IR settings from Zoom In/Out... yadda yadda.

Tried everything... even the UNAfov addon. Tried deleting the keyZoomCont[]={}; in my game Profile and then deleting the TrackIR +tZ key assignment.

This is very discouraging and I'm sure Lee_H_Oswald feels the same way.

FOV can be adjusted in the *.ArmAProfile file.

fovTop=0.750000;
fovLeft=1.200000;

Their were small signs of improvement in the recent beta patch 1.16. Hoping they change it in the next full patch.

But the problem with this "fix" is that the objects on the map screen is screwed to click on.

Hope it will be fixed back to 1.08 FOV in final patch!

Well if someone would provide me with all 1.08 configs (only), I can easily make an addon. ;)

Is that FOV addon working in vehicles too? Annoying if your head is "glued" to the windscreen. Maybe somekind of "zoomed-out view" as workaround?

When I tried to use truefov_accurate.pbo the FOV did not work. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Was running 1.15 Beta, and ACE 1.07, (Before 1.16b was released)

Will test again shortly.

Sine the default FOV was changed to the worse (at least for me) with that patch ;)

Judging from this forum lots of ppl, including myself, prefered the "old" FOV settings.

Was running 1.15 Beta, and ACE 1.07, (Before 1.16b was released)

Will test again shortly.

Just tried it and it didn't work in ACE 1.07. :mad:
