Sunni 0 Posted March 4, 2009 Please wippende UP antennas on all vehicles! That would be great! Thanks
Placebo 12 Posted March 4, 2009 Astonishing I know, but suggestions belong in the suggestions forum, moving
mr.g-c 6 Posted March 4, 2009 Yes would be cool to have as some eye-candy, but would require extended physics to let it look good AFAIK.
bravo 6 0 Posted March 4, 2009 at last someone have the same desire i have about antennas. I already posted in physics thread, but i think this is a good idea Please BIS make this happen Would be something like the finger animation when we press the trigger to fire a weapon. FallujahMedic -FM- 836 Posted March 4, 2009 Antennas, wow, it's amazing the little things we forget about. Like Command vehicles, Tank leaders, etc. Its easy on the battlefield to identify who's who by their antennas. Thinking outside of the box, I love it! NoRailgunner 0 Posted March 4, 2009 Would be better if antennas had some kind of function instead of being only eyecandy things. For example: if tank commander or driver drives their tanks at fullspeed + straight into woods - antennas should get damaged and the crew is cut off communications/informations. I think that such a "damage feature" is worth to be done.
Uziyahu--IDF 0 Posted March 5, 2009 And let the antenna contact a low-hanging power line. Then the fun REALLY begins!
bravo 6 0 Posted March 5, 2009 seeing that point of view.. it would be nice to animate the antennas in order to be able to put them in a safe position like this but using a command option: Other wise make them shake like gelly!!! Shake it baby shake it! edit: i hope you see my point of view.. The plate is the car, im the stupid pig and the gelly is the antenna hihi
sk3pt 0 Posted March 6, 2009 You people are a little over the top Some physics for the antennas would be awesome indeed.
bravo 6 0 Posted March 7, 2009 From the recent videos such thing was not implemented. Maybe the effect is not in BIS plans.. Hope they change their mind! Placebo can you please give a push about this matter to BIS developers?
soul_assassin 1429 Posted March 7, 2009 it should be as easy as letting us apply rtm animations to non-soldier objects or allowing equation of motion animations in the model.cfg.
bravo 6 0 Posted March 12, 2009 it should be as easy as letting us apply rtm animations to non-soldier objects or allowing equation of motion animations in the model.cfg. So with your knowledge on the field, you would say its easy to implement such, Am I correct? So, if thats true, why didn't they already implemented it? Its really sad to let this escape if its possible and easy to implement.
CarlGustaffa 3 Posted March 13, 2009 Not too concerned about animations and looks. But a command vehicle is a must. I can simulate radio functions for scripted chatter, but I have no control over how players utilize the builtin channels. I.e. I can use 'walkies' for in squad comms, ACE radios for inter platoon comms, and maybe an MHQ to act as a relay station if distances becomes an issue? However I want things to be. Should naturally affect both chat and builtin VoIP. More channel types would also be nice, 4 doesn't really cut it. Hmm, just realized this got more into radio systems than antenna... Its really sad to let this escape if its possible and easy to implement. My guess is that the ratio of easy/usefull does not present itself as a priority. Ive tried the following things with whats available: 1. Making an oscillating rtm animation, which would have been the best visually, but didnt find a way to apply this animation to a non-soldier object or the proxy of the antenna. 2. Made a model.cfg rotation animation and tried setting the amplitude and period of animation through script but was quite akward and scripting solutions arnt always the best as accelleration calculations have to be done realtime. 3. Tried linking to gmeter animationsource but it has no knowledge of -ve and +ve values, just +ve = akward I think the ability to add equations of motion would be the best as it would allow for greatest visual simulation. Simple damped oscillations could be modeled according to base excitation (the vehicle moving).
dentist guba 0 Posted March 14, 2009 ofp 1 had animated antenna on the hummer and jeep didn't it?
bravo 6 0 Posted March 15, 2009 not that i know of.
dentist guba 0 Posted March 15, 2009 maybe i just imagined it, could've sworn i remember the wires in front of the windscreen on the jeep moving.
dm 9 Posted March 15, 2009 The mutt jeep in ofp definitely had the antenna attached to the dampers at some point.
Nigelwow 10 Posted April 17, 2009 yeah antennas on vehicles, would be great and if it was damaged you would get a bad connection... or a radioman in a group would be nice... ;)
draeath 10 Posted April 17, 2009 Yes. OFP had them. The very first jeep you see has them.
Nicholas 5 Posted April 17, 2009 There was an antenna on the HMMV in ArmA 1, but it doesn't move at all.
