Still got a way to go before beta 1, fixing textures and fine turning the multi weapon loadouts.

The original  IkaR's addon only came with mavericks, Aim9 and AIm-54, unfortunately no sparrows, so for the moment we will stick to the CAP with 6 x AIm-54 and 2 x AIM9 -  I have adjusted the AIM54 have just a little more range than the AIm9, I've cap' them at 4000m

I have modeled a version of the LANTIRN system for the F14:

We have managed to integrate a fully working gunner (thanks to namman2 for that)position, it has a forward looking TV camera for targeting, and I must admit the first trials with an AI pilot are damn fun, he lines it up, you select and fire on your target.

This system will also be put into IkaR's Mirage 2000 D version for the next release, you won't be disappointed.

This gunner position works with missiles, FFAR and the cannon. (not tested with GBU, but I see no reason why this would not work).

why should Eble need the project RACS authorisation to release a RACS version of the f-14 ?  

Not for a RACS version of course. But for a RSN version it would be nice to at least give them a heads up. The camo and roundel are after all their creations...

Ok the F 14 is probably a favourite for a lot of poeple, and out of those we all, or maybe most have a different colour scheme we like.

With that in mind I'll release the texture template early so you guys that want to can get cracking on your favourites.

in the template I will include all the original skins from the opf model, so you can either remake the one you want or start a fresh.

lets see what you guys can do, we could have a little competition with the best skin getting inclusion in the beta 1/2 release.

the Opf addon does have a Lantirn pod but I'll check this out, thanx again.

Who said this Tomcat cant have the same kind of optics in the panel? Just pm me if you need any details.

And i agree with Fritz160 wolf, F-14 and the SU-27 family will be good counterparts. I would like to see a balancing among the Aircrafts. Would be good to have realistic values for all addons.

Another small update:

For those who want to reskin the F-14 with you own colour scheme I will be releasing the mlod model tonight  (Australian time).

All external textures are now final – (Except for one custom texture that we can choose from the community made ones, if completed in time either way, beta 2 will feature at least 1 custom skin)

All multi weapons version working correctly

All gunner optics final (in this version, may change for a future beta)

All animations working as intended.

Special FX scripts all done

To do before release:

MP testing threw up some errors, it will entail a config re-write to fix (not a small job)

Internal cockpit textures need tweaking

Afterburner scripts needs tweaking.

Finish the surprise package

I hope you'll add the tailhook script to it, and the gunner cam might want a new look in the future, but I understand that this will be released as a beta so it doesn't matter for now
