mr.g-c 6 Posted May 27, 2008 Is that something like OFP-Watch which downloads the necessary addons to play on a certain server, from alone? Regards, Christian

acadiancrusader 0 Posted May 28, 2008 i haven't tried it yet, and from the screenshot, it doesn't seen to have much control over add-ons. it would be great if you could simply click checkmarks to load add-ons in a specific order. and for added functionality, it would be great if yoma's synchronizer could be combined with this tool. hint, hint, nudge, nudge nevertheless, great release, downloading now... Yoma 0 Posted May 28, 2008 Looks nice, in what language is it? Wouldn't mind integrating the browser in my tool if you've used .NET and if you wouldn't mind. Other then that mine has TONS of extra great functionality. -easy downloading addons/copying existing local addons -provide easy means for admins to create addon packages -support for both ftp/http with authentication -support for zip/7z compression -support for modfolder sequence (set either by user or server) Modfolder sequence can be different for server (to support serverside only addons) -teamspeak/TIR/TSoverlay support -decent website with FAQ/Forum supporting the tool -10 to 12 real servers using the tool But it looks like a real nice effort you're doing! Keep at it.

I dream for a software who'd allow that... To me ArmaSpy and even more Yoma are so user-unfriendly from that point of view... I think the easiest way to obtain this, by far,is NOT HAVING TO CLICK ANYTHING AT ALL. Which is perfectly possible with my tool, if modservers put a :seq: line in, my tool gets this line and proposes to load these mods in that exact sequence. This reduces starting to play on a heavily modded multiplayers server to about 3 steps: -follow instructions on multiplay server on how to use my tool -click download all mods -click launch arma. (if the modserver uses the :seq: marker, which i personally think they all should) then my app will ask you to load the servers modfolder sequence, if it doesn't ask you this, you simply can click 'set modfolders=server modfolders' and it will preselect all modfolders on the server. Other then that, my tool also allows you to simply click a listed addon (click A first, A will come first in serverlist, then click B, etc etc). Maybe not the most userfriendly kind of way, but a lot of users seem to like it. If you have some genious way to both allow users to -select the mods they like -select the mods the server uses -select the mods the server uses in predefined sequence (defined by server admin) Then please make a tool that does it. Whining is easy, solving is hard.

Rapid share download also does not work. Why is this?
Yoma 0 Posted May 28, 2008 Didn't really download it untill now. Didn't run it as my Sophos antivirus (which is quite good) detects this virus / malware in the main exe. Fix it and i'll give it a shot. Mal/EncPk-C is a program that has been packed with a protection system typically used by malware authors. Mal/EncPk-C programs are often seen in emails sent out either in spam or by email worms. Lets just hope it's a corrupted file or something like that. Kinda gives another meaning to the name armaSPY? M.Andersson(SWE) 4 Posted May 28, 2008 Norton InternetSec 2007 didnt find anything... PS: As long as i have to click every IP in the list just to see the name im NOT using this...
Birdseye 0 Posted May 28, 2008 The website of the author does indeed give me a warning in avira-antivir. But I scanned the package and the .exe file and it's clean. so now I did an extra virus scan using: http://virusscan.jotti.org/ to check the .exe for virus and I'm not too pleased with the results. But of course, some virus scanners give false positive warnings. Service load:  0%     100%  File:  aaspy.exe  Status:  INFECTED/MALWARE  MD5:  cc8a1b16d8bf68384a2e255d296af4a0  Packers detected:  PE_PATCH, UPACK Scanner results  Scan taken on 28 May 2008 18:52:30 (GMT)  A-Squared  Found nothing AntiVir  Found nothing ArcaVir  Found Heur.Win32.I  Avast  Found nothing AVG Antivirus  Found nothing BitDefender  Found nothing ClamAV  Found PUA.Packed.UPack-2  CPsecure  Found nothing Dr.Web  Found nothing F-Prot Antivirus  Found nothing F-Secure Anti-Virus  Found nothing Fortinet  Found nothing Ikarus  Found Suspect code-parts (probable variant)  Kaspersky Anti-Virus  Found nothing NOD32  Found nothing Norman Virus Control  Found W32/Suspicious_U.gen  Panda Anti-virus  Found nothing Sophos Anti-virus  Found Mal/EncPk-C  VirusBuster  Found nothing VBA32  Found nothing highly regarded virus scanners as nod32 and kaspersky found nothing. that's the most importing thing I suppose. I saw that this program was not very familiar, and it had interesting features, that's why I posted it. It's quite old (2007?). Yoma Arma Addon Synchroniser is a great program, with lots of functions. Also the ability to load the mods in the right loading order is very nice. But an extension of the program with a serverbrower would be an interesting feature. But, it ain't a must. it's great the way it is!
bravo 6 0 Posted May 29, 2008 Unfortunately i have to report that my AVG anti virus detected a virus in the ArmASpy executable. i sent it directly to the vault and deleted it. The most interesting thing was that i did not ran the program. when i turned on my computer today the first thing that i saw in the screen after windows was loaded was a Virus Threat in ArmASpy.exe
Yoma 0 Posted May 29, 2008 It may be no problem at all, but untill it's fixed, i won't be touching it and i wouldn't advise others to touch it either.
