In the preview i had broken models (strange edges and triangles).

I reinstalled ArmA about 30 minutes ago to overcome this problem but no joy. I have a clean install of ArmA v1.09b + QG, running no addons whatsoever other than Sara Lite. I can use neither these mercs or the PKW pilots because of this issue. Does anyone have a solution that's not 'run it with little/no addons' as both these units are kickass and need to be in ArmA but it seems I'm currently destined to never use PKW addons.

edit: It seems this is a new bug effecting new addons (atleast for me). I now also get this error plus the strange edges and triangles from agamoths Freedom Fighters addon aswell

It`s probably a combination of addons...main problem the PKW pilots I think whistle.gif

I did not use this PKW mercenaries yet but had to drop the PKW pilots because it was causing here the same conflict with probably agamothsFFs second release, andy mags or something else.

PKW pilots are out of my folder and I don`t have the problem anymore.

That does not say that the pilots are the problem but do conflict with a combination of addons.

I made one comment about agamoths stuff, just to show this bug is not confined to your units specifically. Leave thread moderation to a moderator. icon_rolleyes.gif

I have a store bought copy of ArmA Gold from 505 Games.

edit: it seems this issue can be overcome by placing some (1 maybe) default BIS soldier on the map as well, if you place them alone the glitch occurs. However this is still a bug that should be fixed is possible.

Just had a test drive of these guys this morning. While they are technically very good I don't really like the aesthetics of them.

They look more like a mixture of airsofters and what students union socialists probably dress up as in their bedrooms at night (Beret and Cardboard reinforced sweater/jumper...eugh bad memories of the 1990s)

You obviously have talent and are putting in the hard work. But I would have to express a preference for units that look a bit more pragmatic.

Bandanas and berets in field = bad.

Berets are for barracks, bandanas are for...gay bars and pirate movies perhaps?

Probably, you did not read title...

Mercenaries it not regular army it will enough to look at photos from war of Iraq ,former Yugoslavia, Chechenya or Afrika. . - regards - Yac

No I did young man, I did.

But these do not look like mercenaries, certainly not former proffessionals.

They look a little too "well kept" IMHO. But I agree with Imshi-Yallah completely, they are very well done. You got some talent there my friend. wink_o.gif

As far as bandanna's looking fruity.... I kind of agree with that assessment but they are definitely worn out there. I've seen bandanna's and berets worn by PMC's in Africa and the South Pacific.

I think Khadaffy Janjalani would dispute his fruitiness for wearing one. Although not labeled as a mercenary in the west, it all depends on the perspective one has.

Ultimately, the clothing Yaciek used could be proper. It depends on the scenario he sets up.

Personally, I'm not a fan of a few layouts but overall I love these units. Now, a replacement file or 2 would be fantastic, maybe I'll try to finish the one I started. wink_o.gif

Just because a man is hardcore doesn't mean he isn't gay.

Any plans to use some of the gucci community made sights on future editions of the weapons?

Yaciek said that right. Enough spetsnaz guys are wearing bandanas (though berets are something really strange, but at least that could be something like "private elite guard" of Deidrana queen from JA2). Diffirent environments - diffirent load-out. I'm myself a former officer of RF Army and can confirm that guys from reconaissance company were wearing bandanas too (as well as wool caps, caps and special helmets).

And about gays...well, I'm metalhead and wearing bandana sometimes too. Guess I'm a gay according to your classification. Well, in Russia in such situations we say "sometimes it's better to chew, than to talk", young man.

I had a bit of fun trying out these units.

Just one complaint about the weapons:

I use a widescreen monitor, so when I look through the scopes on your weapons I have a white border on either side, which looks kinda ugly. BIS weapons have a black border which blends in better, although not perfectly and the BIS ACOG has 'seams' in the side.

NonWonderDog did scopes so that they were perfect even for widescreens, the black border on either side blended in perfectly with the end of the scope.

So could you please get that border when looking through scopes to be black instead of white?

No they don't have uniforms, but then they don't look like these units.

Anyway, I made my point. Evidently my opinion will not be listened to.

Hard luck, poor old me.

-I do not wish such notes.

It read about mercenaries, guerrillas or last revolts military. It don't compare their for regular army. If you think that addon there is ungood, unused him , or it make better.

these are comming along very well... I'll have to give them a try and see if they really conflict with my addon I hope not but if they do I will find the solution...

about the bandana... if you look at pictures from vietnam you'll se a lot of soldiers wearing them, I belive they are used to keep bugs and other nasty things out of the hair... and I can tell you from personal experience that its not such a bad idea

What I like about your weapons is that you modeled the last rounds in the M249, which I didn't see in another machinegun.

Anyone have a list of the class names for these units? Nothing about them in the readme, unless I'm blind. wink_o.gif
