cole 0 Posted April 1, 2008 W-O-W.. I'd rate that preview 44/10! Simply AMAZING! Other soundmods won't stand a chance after you release this! Now it just needs a fast release
SSSFreak 0 Posted April 2, 2008 Awesome, just Awesome. Love the sound of the at4. Brutal.

wolfsblut_ 0 Posted April 2, 2008 He wrote the work is "basicly" done. That means of course we have to wait. I would like to see in the sound-mod that the environment-sounds (woods, meadow, rain, hill) should be more than pesky 5-sec-loops of a synthetic environment-bird-sound but a real environment-sound of common real birds who lives in the area of sahrani (atlantic(?), around or near the equator(?)). For example i work with environment-sounds which are more than 5 minutes long (5 minutes-loops) and this works in ArmA also.
Vultar 0 Posted April 2, 2008 If I can request something xP Chammy, any chance of making 2 configs? The 2nd one for realistic volume of sounds. You know what I mean ; )

chammy 7 Posted April 2, 2008 Ok folks , working on a config now. In answer to Vultar, we are working on the volumes now, and a separate config.....negative, I wouldnt understand why we'd need 2. And are you out there Evenlease? We're needing your graphics talent.
NoRailgunner 0 Posted April 2, 2008 Good to know Chammy! Will we have ringing in the ears because some weapons in real world are very loud or did you make an extra action-action entry like "use/don't use earplugs"?

Blackknight.au 0 Posted April 7, 2008 Not that I'm biased or anything but wasn't that impressed with the sounds in that vid. Hope it was just the recording... The RPK, M240G, M4, and AK-74 all basically sounded the same. Anyway, in game is where the real test is, can't wait to try it out.

Ateryu82 0 Posted April 7, 2008 Awesome stuff, I wasn't impressed with the 1st preview vid but that 2nd one blew me away! One thing though, one of my biggest gripes with other soundmods is that when blowing stuff up with an m136 the explosion sounds great but always exactly the same. Is it possible to have a set of a couple of explosion sounds that are randomly used when you blow up an armored car??
mrcash2009 0 Posted April 7, 2008 Well I have to say, this second preview, keep your eyes closed and ... well your watching a firefight from some real iraq videos on youtube! The only thing that struck me as "hmmmmmm" is the comms bleep, the one thats sounds to me like "pacman chomp sounds" LOL. Is that an offical comms sounds from real life comms? If so ... I will shut up, if not, can it be modified? EDIT: Just listened again with another screen open so I couldnt see the video ... very hard to tell it from a real video. Ateryu82 0 Posted April 7, 2008 One more thing, I sincerely hope your light vehicle sounds carry less bass than those in other soundmods. I like a lot of bass in explosions, gunfire and heavy vehicles like tanks but not in humvee's or trucks. FDF and AACF both have so much bass in light vehicles that I have to turn the bass down on my speaker system. Coupled with the fact that you can spend quite some time in these vehicles it gets really annoying. For me and also for people around me. (the neighbours, lol)

Mate, you already did when we tried to release AACF, if you remember and you weren't real nice. At least I am trying to be critical from a somewhat educated stance, having actually had some experience with sound mods... *cough* Anyway, I used to use Chammys v2 and loved it and just hope this version is a step-up. Because it takes a trained ear to differentiate the variants. Really, if you are around these weapons as you say, they will pretty much sound alike, though, you will be able to tell right off the light and heavy mg's from the assault rifles, but as in the AK's it is true ,depending on the make, that the ak47 has a bit of a crack unlike the m16. The Car15's or M4's and AKsu's are a bit louder. This version is a step up, this week the guy who does the config file hasn't been on much lately, he's been busy with family as well.
