When this island is released... its definitely going on the OGN ArmA Servers in Australia.... this island is one of the Best detailed work I have ever seen made.... well done OFman notworthy.gif

absolutely stunning work. hats off to you.

One note however, it seemed in the one SS that the runway was lined up with a pretty hefty ridge. Looks as though its going to be a bit touchy landing or taking off in that direction.

Edit: OK, looking at it again it looks like the gap in the mountain would actually make it easier for landing as it seems to line up with the runway.

A good combination of high mountains and flat ground on the volcanic island. Great details and nice texture quality. Top notch stuff. A serious candidate for the "The Best Island" Awards. Can't wait to try out the beta version...

We are still testing FPS measure in some parts of island. Number of trees will be twice as Sahrani, so we have serious problem. But... I can assure you that we haven't noticed any fps drops, even in intensve fights with armor stuff. In low-end specs we have 25-50 fps with normal details (and shadows!wink_o.gif.

Optimization still in process smile_o.gif OFman is a island master, trust me.

Great great island, but I noticed in a recent post to the Screenshots thread there are several HUGE BIS rocks on the crest of the ridges ..... these look out of place, mainly because of their size.

While I suspect its a good idea to break the ridges up with impassable barriers (stops / reduces "ridge running") I think it would be better with a grouping of a half dozen small versions of similar rocks.

This looks sooo real, it really looks like crysis also.

Im not sure what type of island it will be, but will be there towns on it or will it be some vietnam type island?

But really, it looks greaaaat! Cant wait till its released. yay.gif

There are a few villages or small towns. Today Beta1 will be ready to testing.

After first betatests:

- OFman created a whole concept of island including villages, forests, coast zone and etc.

- He's going to develop some urban areas (don't except next Paraiso or Ortego...), because there's a lot to do at this point.

- We found a few bugs causing fps drops and OFman will fix them.

- Also OFman will fix some landscape issues (we will inform you later about this)

And I can assure you - Uhao has roads smile_o.gif Probably you'll get to like it, because it looks like Nogova.

I'm really looking forward to this island!  Great work so far!

Without having read the entire thread, any chance for two seperate versions, one with buildings/roads, and one without?

This would make the perfect uninhabited island in the middle of the ocean, for a /shipwreck(or plane crash)/exploration/survival type mission.  Then once you get in a ways, maybe it's not really completely unihabited after all...   wow_o.gif

I hoped nobody here live on Oahu smile_o.gif You have to remember that the island is not like real Oahu, shape and climate is similar but thats all.

Hi, looks really good, i just miss some of the new buildings that come

with the Queen's Gambiet; they could add some more life to the island

and help to recreate small industrial complexes arround there, just

to give the impresion that someone on that island works instead

live from the drugs; also the QG's ship wreck will fit great somewhere

in the shore. Let's C ya

Maybe you could release a first batch when you think it's done, and work from there with QG objects?

Hi, then if you want and think that will be a good idea... you could

release 1St the ArmA (v1.14) version and the QG's version later

on; im very sure that the QG's objects/buildings will improve alot

the shape of the island, and after all... it's an offical expansion...

those objects add alot more life to the islands, seriously. Let's C ya

The truth is that Uhao is tropical island with intimate, modest aura. Default buildings fits perfectly. Also OFman has some surprises.

Now, he works on bugs fixing, because we realised that AI could have some driving problems through dense, forrests areas.

Good decision to avoid QG buildings on the island..

It may be a good candidate for IC-Arma's futures campaigns if you have good FPS, good optimization and bit of a mirrored look like 2 bases/2 airfields in each half etc..

Ah btw..I'll report you to Eur Court of Human Rights for "Performing Torture thru Picture Sharing" .... biggrin_o.gif

contains all the objets but not the rest of what comes with it, so

all the players could enjoy this island without have to buy the QG

for do it.

But im more worried about the playability, lag and bugs on the island

than about the QG's objects; the island looks great to me for what

i've seen until now. Let's C ya

Im afraid that would be illegal. Kinda like distributing copies of QG for free.
