plasman 0 Posted December 6, 2007 hope that someone makes a kosovo liberation army terrorist mod soon. Just to even it up. I'm not a specialist but frankly speaking I don't think they would look very different. So I guess EUROFIGHTERX would just have to change the shoulder patches to create instant Croatian, Bosnian, Kosovar irregulars/volunteers/fighters...(you name them) PS: "...And, it's all over The war is over It's all over The war is over Well, all over, baby... popcorn 0 Posted December 6, 2007 Paramilitary and terrorists is two different things...These guys were not terrorists. They were fighting in a WAR. Sure, not in the regular army but they were soldiers in their paramilitary units. They were not doing terrorist attacks like blowing them selves up in a market or something. And they are only considered as terrorists by their enemys. They're not freedom fighters, not nationalists, but people from a country who was in war. They wanted to help their country and their people. When i was in Serbia and there was something about kosovo on the news, some guys started talking about them forming a paramilitary unit if a war breaks out again. I dont consider them terrorists. If a war breaks out in my country (Sweden) and i cant get into the army, i'll gladly form a paramilitary unit with my friends and others who want to support their country. It has nothing to do with terrorism. Sure, alot of innocent people got killed, but ITS WAR. Is there any war were civilians DIDN'T die? In iraq right now, civilians are dying sometimes. Does that mean that the US Army, the USMC and all the rest of the coalition troops are terrorists? Im gonna try this addon later. I have alot of paramilitary patches, if you need pics of any patches i could probably get some. CCCC Your signature, CCCC, belongs to "Chetniks". I know this sign. Why did you use this? Only Unity Saves the Serbs (Serbian: Само слога Србина спасава/Samo sloga Srbina spasava) is an popular slogan of the Serbian people, and is used as a cry against foreign domination and national disunity. It is a popular belief that the phrase is displayed on the Serbian cross on the Serbian national coat of arms, in the form of four C-shaped firesteels (Serbian: "ocila", "оцила"), which form an acronym of four Cyrillic letters for 'S' (с. However, this symbol might in fact be a sort of a copy of Byzantine coat of arms where stylized Greek letters Β stood for the imperial motto Basileus Basileon Basileuon Basileusin ("King of kings, ruling over kings") in Greek. The motto was used in Shields of Soldiers and Despots in the early 14th century.[1] Another popular story has it that this phrase originated in the 12th century with St. Sava, the Serbian prince and monk, and later the patron saint of the Serbian Orthodox Church. It was at this time that Serbs, who lacked a nationally established church, were under pressure from Rome to convert from Orthodoxy to Catholicism. According to the story St. Sava called for the creation of an independent church in Serbia that would remain Orthodox, and uttered the "ocila" phrase to urge the Serbian people to declare national autonomy and resist domination by the Roman Catholic Church. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Only_Unity_Saves_the_Serbs edit: Plasman: They did use different uniforms. At least the albanians.
Sniperwolf572 758 Posted December 6, 2007 Don't even think to start any sort of political discussion about this. I thought that was clear enough? Take the bickering and the rest of the stuff to PM's or other forums that have that purpose. Next post that disobeys it gets this topic locked. No excuses. Maddmatt 1 Posted December 6, 2007 I gave these a quick try. I notice a couple units in the editor labelled as having an "AK47". But they are equipped with an AK74. Since there is no AK47 in ArmA, maybe they could go well with Robert Hammer's weapons. BTW, I think calling them 'terrorists' was completely unnecessary when you consider the complaints this brings up. Just having "Paramilitary fighters" would have been more appropriate. It doesn't affect me, I'm just thinking about the people it would upset here. Anyway it seems like a good addon so far, the AK74 being my only complaint. Although it would be nice if their enemies could be made too so we have someone to put them up against.
popcorn 0 Posted December 6, 2007 I have tested the addon now. They are pretty good. Only one thing.. The guys with the srpska dobrovoljacka garda patch (they are arkans boys btw) They would most likely NOT wear the other patch that you put on them. They would usually wear the SDG patch on one shoulder, and this one on the other shoulder http://www.tridentmilitary.com/new-photos11/spm3b.jpg Otherwise its pretty good. They often used suits in green or black, not camo. If anybody is interested in making a srpska dobrovoljacka garda addon, i can take some pics of the patches i've got. icebreakr 3157 Posted December 6, 2007 Maddmatt: there is M70AB2 in ArmA a.ka. standard Yugoslav assault rifle, we're using it for Slovenian soldiers, here's a pic: http://www.vojak.si/photos/m70ab2porto.jpg We could make a Balkan's war but foremost we would need a great map editor dude that would make a terrain (mainly Bosnia,...). plasman 0 Posted December 7, 2007 Maddmatt: there is M70AB2 in ArmA a.ka. standard Yugoslav assault rifle, we're using it for Slovenian soldiers, I little off topic but learned that the Slovenian Army has adopted the FN F2000 as its standard assault rifle now. So I guess you'll need to re-equip your units soon
icebreakr 3157 Posted December 7, 2007 That's true - our soldiers are already using FN F2000 home and in operations abroad, but lets keep the topic on Serbian units. p.s. we have internal beta version you can find topic here.

FireflyPL 0 Posted December 7, 2007 I do not approve the changes on my post however I respect BIS forums. The add-on I made is not about Serbian nation, it is however about the gangs who committed terrorist acts. I do appreciate your interest and feedback. Thanks for the mirrors, especially for unchanged armedassault.info mirror. Regards But you either have no knowledge or missunderstand who were ths Chetnicks. Srb Cetniks were not terrorists. They were anti nazi partisants, a contrario to pro nazi Croat Ustashes. Durring the civil war in Jugoslavia in early 90s, all sides commited attrocities (mass murders, ethnic cleansing and death camps were just as common on muslim and croat sides as on the srbian - and it's confirmed by UN observers), Muslims were as brutal as Serbs and Croats. The only thing that media were so antiSerb was that Srbs were allies of Russia that's all. Nothing else. What happened in Jugislavia is just the same as what happend to Iraq in 2003 when West started messing up in the region. One should remember that it was Germany, who started the War in Jugoslavia by selling weapons and giving go ahead to Croat separatism. Pozdrav brate Srby! As for units. I must say that they are well made retextures. Pitty, that they are just so common retexts. Hope to see some, more and totally remodeled addons.
NoRailgunner 0 Posted December 7, 2007 Often the most barbaric atrocities occur when combatants proclaim themselves freedom fighters. It's up to player & mission designer what he use or not. FireflyPL do you have any evidence of your amazing presumptions? Moderator, please warn him about this post as he goes into political rant. Unlike this expert for the war in Yugoslavia from Poland, I was actually in one of the cities which were bombarded daily during this war so I would have a thing or two to comment about his post but this is really not the place for this. .COMmunist 0 Posted December 7, 2007 Judging by the EUROFIGHTERX British flag in his name, he must be a westerner. So, here is your answer. Typical western hypocrasy here, when the Soviets attack Nagova, the locals fighting for their home are called Resistance. When NATO attacks Serbia, Serbian resistance fighters are off corse terrorists. That's all to it. So stop bickering about it. That's just the way it is, what's the big deal here?
