Block certain cheat users

it might not be the SCP, there is another method mentioned on the KFC forums, which has been known to crash servers, some console hack.

KFC have suggested that this not be used as it causes server crashes, and that is not part of their creed, apparently

Escobar, I am aware of that other cheat and it is checked for in the addon.

I have not tested with rundll's addon so I cannot guarantee that the addon is "activating" unless you are having that start up line in the missions init.sqf file.

Hmm i dont know exactly why but on a certain berzerk server my keyboard locks up and i cant do anything but alt F4 back to the desktop screen im not exactly sure if this has anything to do with the cheat pack or if its something else thats causing this like a downloaded addon, also just to let you all know im still working on this piece of art, yet i still have the problem with clearing the menu's

I think he was talking bout my server:)

Ok, we tested our server last night with Doolittles addon started by using rundll's addon (so I havent manually edited all missions).

And.......

Things were really very bad. Our server lagged like hell and even crashed 2 times which it (crash) hasnt done for maybe 6 - 8 months.

However, I am not sure if this is due to the addons I installed or it might have to do with some weird error on our server (which I wont post here cause I dont want to go offtopic) which after I thought about it might cause the addon by rundll to be executed over and over and over again flooding our server.

I am going to move our server today to my new home where I have a 24 fiber connection.

We will see how the server runs there, if the server doesnt get the error I talked about earlier anymore than I will enable the anti cheat addon again.

If it didnt go away I will post it in the troubleshooting forums and put a link here so you can read what I was talking about.

Server went again late last night, after modifying the 2 new Evo maps back to the Doolittle's method. but they was a guy artillery spamming so I'm not sure if that crashed the server or something else.

Edit: All the AI had being frozen on the spot again and I as flying around not realizing the server had gone tits up, see all players are listed as if the games still running, and you can still move around in the environment. (had no reports of zombies etc before I clicked it had gone.)

Having read what has being said above now that you mention it yeah stress on the server has increased particularly around when people are connecting especially more when they is more than one person joining, both with runddl's addons and even with it is off and where using stock Doolittle's method.

rundll ill mail you the report in fact ill mail both of you it.

its been running on a full 64 man berserk for days now, using the rundll addons, so no server lag there.

maybe its something specifically with the new EVO maps

Lo all,

After playing tonight using the same method as just mentioned with your string of code edited into the files the server has just gone down again, but this time they was no one connecting to the server nor was they any reports of spawn spamming or artillery spamming.

The other thing that I have noticed in all 3 cases of the server locking up, is that when it happens they is generic game marker placed on the main map in the city a red square with a plus sign in it, not long after noticing this the server dies.

However it must be said that while running the anti hack scanner with rundll's addon with the two older versions of evolution Evo3.0 and EvoRed.b9, we had no such problems in what little time we where running them on the server.

So weather or not they have found a way around the anti hack scanner altogether, or they are exploiting something in the new Evo series I really don't know, maybe a bit of both? or just maybe this is a new Evo problem which remains to be seen.

Kiljoy has a copy of the server's crash log files which logs two of the three crashes mentioned.

Edit: the server always seems to die after four+ hours of game play. And it always seems to happen 3 cities into the mission on both new Evo maps.

ANG3L, sounds like that is a pretty new map that has some things needing to be worked out? I haven't had a chance to try it myself. Nice sleuthing though.

Yeah maybe we'll I think the server might have being getting overloaded in the last few case's so I deactivated one of the server's internal scanner's and left your's running in stock flavor.

So far so good the other night we had a De sync but no crash so fingers crossed still testing.

Just to let you know so far it seems the "specific" troubles we had on our server are gone.

The coming weeknd we first play one night without those files on the server.

The next day I will enable it though. That should give you good enough feedback from my side to see if the earlier reported problems we had still exist wink_o.gif

I would also like to add that the loader should be workign fine if doolittle updates his addon. (wich is needed cuz there is an update of the kentucky fried bastards it seems)

We'll m8t it would seem as if that lot are having a big feud in camp atm was reading yesterday, with regards of them going around crashing server's because they couldn't have it there own way. Didn't see anything pertaining to an update.

Still no crashes on the server over the course of the last week smile_o.gif all seems well, So turning one of the server's scanners off definitely helped.

Great job trying to stop the griefers. Most are probly using others codes, so I would not call them hackers, just griefers. Now the other day I was thinking instead of just trying to stop them, and boot them. Is there somthing we can do to harm them? corrupt there game or HD? For legal issues you could always put a warning in the server greeting.

From a purely scripting point of view, it's hard to do anything. We can crash them out but then other people on the server get some lag because of that.

I dont think its a problem with Doolittles or Rundll's scripts, i regularly play on the Jolt.co.uk server and whenever we ran Evo Red/Blue V4 the server crashed. It sounds like the same thing is happening when yourserver crashes, all the a.i. freezes but the player isnt kicked if i'm correct? so try V3 or another map to see if it still crashes.
