dreday 1 Posted July 27, 2007 hmm well since the end of the rifle for an aks-74 and that for a 74m are practically identicle there should be no reason that it could not be used for it and if not a little machining could easily fix that i just think its much more common to use the aks-74u silenced since its silencer is much quieter and more effective than the pbs or really than most silencers I am not entirely sure what you are trying to say, but the Russians do not deploy any supressors/silencers on the AK-74 or AK-74M. That's a fact. Even though there is a supressed version of the AKSU, it has largely been seen as a failure; it has been made in very small numbers and I don't belive that it has ever been deployed in combat. The balistics of the 5.45 bullet are not well suited for the sound supression. That is why the Russians had to take the route of deisgning a whole new family of 9x39mm subsonic rounds (i.e. SP-5 and SP-6 for AS/VSS). Peace, DreDay
Shadow NX 1 Posted July 27, 2007 this supressor thing is killing me cause NSX contacted me and we discussed this in lenght. He said hes a former officer and reads many of the russian arms amgs and he clearly remembers that he read about reports about usage of a pbs type on Ak-74s aswell, PBS-3 or 4 it seems. Well im as clueless as before now, can anyone call the FSB and ask?

Well im as clueless as before now, can anyone call the FSB and ask? Hehe, I hear ya. I do not want to doubt NSX's credibility, but I would also say that I am very wary of Internet Warrior Syndrome. If this gentleman is able to say that he had personally seen/used the silenced AK-74; or better yet produce pictures of it - I would gladly admit that I am in the wrong. For now however, there is absolutely zero evidence that points to this fact and plenty of evidence to the contrary. If you are fluent in Russian, I will try to dig up a couple of the online sources for you. I also have not forgotten about the pictures of VDV patches hat I had promised to you guys On a side note, I am very impressed with the dedication to realism that your mod has shown. I have tried to explain the same issue with the AK-74 suppressor to several other respected mods, but my suggestions had fallen on deaf ears. Respect, DreDay
Skaven 0 Posted July 27, 2007 Well, I must say that my intel points me exactly to the same side as DreDay, as I mentioned some time ago, normally when they want to use silenced weapons (which is very rare) they use the AKM-S PBS 1 or a 9x39 weapon. It's not that you can't find an AKS-74 PBS 3 picture or.. it's even possible to find AKs with M4 rails on them and so on, but normally they work as DreDay mentioned, according to my intel of course btw, just for the record at this moment the only silenced weapon on the pack is indeed the AKM-S PBS1. We have lots of advisors, and it's funny that most of them have different opinions, but that's good because it opens conversations between us and gives the chance to learn a lot more, now the funniest thing is that the the Russian Army is changing as we speak
Shadow NX 1 Posted July 27, 2007 Before i piss of anyone again i say we keep the AKMS with PBS and add another non kalashnikov weapon with supressor so this gap is also filled.
Skaven 0 Posted July 27, 2007 Quote[/b] ]Before i piss of anyone again i say we keep the AKMS with PBS and add another non kalashnikov weapon with supressor so this gap is also filled. hehe ok you got it, it's really the same to me, AKM AKS-74, PBS-1, PBS-3... you choose and I'll do it it since it makes no difference to me at all Let's just try to make SD variations short or we'll end up with 70 or more weapons inside the pack Update: The receivers have changed 100% for all weapons, I wasn't happy with them, specially with the first person view I think all weapons look generraly a lot better now and with 100% accurate receivers (thanks to the library man FW200 ). MrTroska 0 Posted July 27, 2007 Hello, You guys doing great job with Russian Federation soldiers but one thing is still pokeing my eye. Iv watched tonns of videos about omon and vdv and russian soldiers and I wonder can you guys remove ARMA SLA bag with shovel from their backs? I think it does not fit well with modern russian soldiers. Give them backpacks like some squad leaders got in your pack or remove em fully if it is possible. Or do modern russian army got those bags with shovel on their backs?
Average Joe 0 Posted July 27, 2007 Cant until the tools arrive Troska, in the meantime these guys are making do and still impressing the shit oughta everyone. Keep it up dudes

Peace, DreDay i was saying what you were saying pretty much except that im sure you could realistically silence the ak74 but its not worth it dre you and me are on the same page but of course with the new ak's ie 105 and such im sure this whole argument will end up being obsolete lol

Skaven 0 Posted July 28, 2007 oops sorry ammo = "RHS_545x39_Bullet"; ammo = "RHS_545x39_SD_Bullet"; ammo = "RHS_762x39_Bullet"; ammo = "RHS_762x39_SD_Bullet"; You should however wait for Vr 2 since this classes are changing, none as been deleted but many have been introduced. Skaven 0 Posted July 28, 2007 Thank you, we made one more weapon by request from the Library Man, the great Master FW200 New receiver, pistol grip... . Because this addon is in Shadow NX&Skaven name it doesn't mean we are alone, we have some good friends helping us, one of them is the talented Bionic who 's working on the new 1p29 scope, he just sent me 2 very early pictures of his work ty Bionic, so far it looks amazing my friend Last but not the least, a new scope needs a new sight, well... FW200 started and the Great Japanese Kenji (well known for his work on the T-64) finished it

Shadow NX 1 Posted July 28, 2007 Hahaha, superb i click on the next page after all these stunning pics ( that ive didnt seen before cause i was clubbing last night ) and on the next page it starts with "No AKMS with the stock folded? " Seriously no, why would we add it if anyone would unfold it anyway as soon as he disembarks his vehicle, the weapon pack is huuuuge in V2 but we shouldnt make it explode by adding folded stock versions for each rifle and such stuff
Törni 0 Posted July 28, 2007 Do not know if this can be fixed, but AI has for some reason troubles of loading unloading these units into/from helicopters. No matter if you syncronize the waypoints or not some always seem to get left behind. With BIS infantry all is ok.
Shadow NX 1 Posted July 28, 2007 Intresting observation, i will try to reproduce this at home later, anyone else has this problem?

With BIS infantry all is ok. Might be because of the default formation, I'll check it, did you place the units with the F2 key or unit by unit? If possible do the other way around and see if the same happens. ty.
