gazmen 0 Posted June 23, 2007 Hi, I have detected some people using a realy simple cheat when playing online to find well hided unit, those play with friend using Hotmail Communication, one is in BLUEFOR & the other OPFOR, and they tell to each other where are hided the Sniper & the Tanks (the good player with high shoot rate)... Also, some people change side during the game, to check map to see where was hided the guy who hit them, then they go back to theyr first team, to hit, the one well hided who killed them (by localising it)... So I wan't to ask you this, how can BIS correct those method of Cheating... Could they not add a fonction to the game that force people to stay in theyr first side (the server or map should memorise for 2H to side choosed first ? Even if they disconnect & come back to the server)... Or could they add a SIDE fonction (in ARMA ID) to keep playing in Only one Side ? (Adding RANK in ARMA ID would be great)... Could they add a fonction to the game, that block other Microphone communication during game ? (like Skype, Messenger, Yahoo & Others) So how to avoid such cheating ? ATM you cant do anything against people like this exept asking an admin to take care of that. How dumb can one get, you sure they do that becuase when the switch teams to look for the enemy they will have lost all there kills and points when they switch back to there first team. The kills score is just number, what about pleasure to kill the boy who add killed you so much time... And about point, did I say that he was a Evolution Server ? smellyjelly 0 Posted June 24, 2007 Most of those suggestions aren't very good. Being force to turn off teamspeak or vent will just ruin most of the teamwork. As of now, the voip is very low quality and I, personally, have a difficult time understanding people. People will do these in most games, and there's really no way around it. Sc@tterbrain 0 Posted June 24, 2007 One actual solution is to not play on servers that use Cadet. At least ones that don't have the map radar enabled so you instantly know where all friendlies are and enemies everytime they take a shot. Aside from that, welcome to pc gaming. M.Andersson(SWE) 4 Posted June 24, 2007 Why is TS a cheat, that is the ONLY way to comunicate.. That is a perfect way to get a group work as a team. A cheat to me is when a player is using an exploit/bug in the game or a code that alters the functionality of the game... TeamSpeak, VOIP, Ventrillo is just a nother way of comunication. NOT A CHEAT... EDIT.. The map radar is to me the "REPORT ENEMIES OVER RADIO" in Real life...Couse thats what happens in real life battles... maddogx 13 Posted June 24, 2007 If ArmA were to block the microphone port for other programs (which I'm not sure if it is even possible), there would be a public outcry. People are already complaining that ArmA sound volume is attached to the main system volume, and claiming it is 'intrusive'. Blocking whole programs or system functions is simply unheard of. jdski 0 Posted June 25, 2007 I don't think anyone was complaining about VOIP he was just saying back when it was new and not everyone had VOIP, some might have felt it was a cheat because they didn't have it. I wish people would use it more often. I'm not sure if they are mic shy or using TS instead. The ingame voip work well now and has more features then any outside VOIP app with the direct comm and vehicle channels. The problem with using TS is that not everyone may have it or get the IP in time to tune in leaving them in the dark. Or they might not have a mic at all so they never got any VOIP apps.
