mcnools 62 Posted June 11, 2007 Look pretty good even better than my dry south sahrani-island, even though I find the ground-textures a bit too dark :/ will get this though!
MEDICUS 0 Posted June 11, 2007 Cool, will d/l and have a look at it right now. MfG, Medicus
Mr_Tea 0 Posted June 11, 2007 Strange thing is, when flying over this island i get more stutter and lag, than on full Sahrani with same settings. Besides that, nice look and "feel" of that island.
Commando84 0 Posted June 11, 2007 looks nice on the screens, ignore the question i read about it more on the website im downloading now

Mr_Tea 0 Posted June 11, 2007 Are you sure, that you`re unpacker didn`t created an "@Island" modfolder in the "@Mapfact\addons" folder? Edit: So looks my shortcut, and everything works normal. <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">"O:\Programme\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\arma.exe" -mod=@FDF_Sounds;@map;@air;@islands;@CMCD_1ID_US_INF_REPLACEMENTS

Commando84 0 Posted June 12, 2007 ok i got it working on the second time i started arma nice island feels very dry and different compared to sahrani. btw will mapfact convert their airport objects to arma?
fasad 1 Posted June 12, 2007 Hmmm, IMHO it is a little more "post-apocalyptically dead" rather than "dry" - even desert plants are not brown.
CanadianTerror 0 Posted June 12, 2007 I was like "WOW!" when i got ingame. Great job! Jonny's desert marines go great on this map.
mcpxxl 2 Posted June 12, 2007 Not evry dry ground is light sand brown (Lanzarote Cyprus as Sample) So we (Lester) decided to use a different darker Colour. And not every Island should be look equal we think. So now there are three kind of it: Darker   Lester`s Medium  MC_Nools´s Light   Orcan Web´s
Gedis 0 Posted June 12, 2007 omg! this is lookig so real, the nature, the ambience, i mean. dry ground, dry grass, dry bushes... haven't tried yet, but looking at the screens i can say, this island looks perfectly polished, great job guys!
Kabuto 0 Posted June 12, 2007 Very good island, the ambience is perfect.
mr reality 0 Posted June 12, 2007 Well from what i've seen so far, this island looks just like all your other addons, very polished and authentic. Excellent work, two thumbs up
Commando84 0 Posted June 12, 2007 you guys at mapfact are so pro, im wondering why does my arma need 2 attempts at starting the game to make it load the addons at all?
mcnools 62 Posted June 13, 2007 I actually had a DREAM where I wrote some ideas for this map, so I'll write them in real-life too. Actually, the bushes should be a bit more greenish, even in deserts some things manage to live so.. (I actually did the mistake of making everything brown in my plants-addon for my island too). Also, a version with almost no trees at all for a complete desert-like experience would be nice (I know ocramweb is working on this, but it doesn't seem like there's much happening in that front). Radnik 18 Posted June 13, 2007 Very nice and far more realistic island then bi`s. It has more natural feeling with brownish and redish grass and bushes...with big plus to performace and optimization. Keep it up Mapfact!...great work!.
