dutchkillar 0 Posted June 10, 2007 what do u think of the fast forwarding time? (press "-" and "+")
ManDay 0 Posted June 10, 2007 Because so few people who will answer this question here are actually playing Singleplayer regularry you can exspect a "Never use it result". I only use it for developing purpose. Waiting for a convoy in your self-made mission a hundert times for debug could else become very time consuming [X] Never used it. Thanks dutchkilla. NAS is fine
opteryx 1562 Posted June 10, 2007 Actually I wish BIS would implement more time speed up, x4 just doesn't cut it when your trying figure out how long it will take a convoy to get from A to B when the route is 100 km.
ManDay 0 Posted June 10, 2007 I think at higher values the AI and collision checks and etc. and etc. will run into trouble because the calculation (cpu-time) is just set way too short. You may try it in the editor with the setAccTime function.
dutchkillar 0 Posted June 10, 2007 btw every1 i change my "oh so awfull" signature
wamingo 1 Posted June 10, 2007 Of course it's unrealistic, but it's useful, especially for editing, and if you feel it's a cheat then don't use it, and if you don't mind you're only cheating yourself anyway.
kmossco 9 Posted June 10, 2007 I like it. It comes in handy sometimes... Imagine you have a mission where you have to travel from Pita to the Airport in South Sahrani in a BlackHawk and there is no chance of seeing enemy...you fast forward obviously. You won't be there watching the landscape for almost 3 minutes will you?
Espectro (DayZ) 0 Posted June 10, 2007 Actually I wish BIS would implement more time speed up, x4 just doesn't cut it when your trying figure out how long it will take a convoy to get from A to B when the route is 100 km. Put up a trigger and in activationfield: "settacctime x" Where x is the constant u wanna multiplide the time
Second 0 Posted June 10, 2007 I use it very much. 200 meters is too long distance, if not under fire, to cross without using timeacceleration. Type of mission has big impact. If it's my own made, i usually am using acceleration alot. Mission made by some other is different case, there's more motivation to do it with 100% attitude

I'm just lazy and prefer pressing a button
Average Joe 0 Posted June 10, 2007 Not Realistic? Its not some kind of cheat people have to use Its a handy tool for mission editing etc as it allows you to see if your waypoints etc are all functioning
EDcase 87 Posted June 10, 2007 Since its only used in single player missions its great to get somewhere quicker.
celery 8 Posted June 10, 2007 I like it alot, very useful in multiplayer.
Balschoiw 0 Posted June 10, 2007 Quote[/b] ]very useful in multiplayer Yes, sure, as there is no time accelleration in MP I use it in editor but sometimes "speeded - up" results not in the same outcome than going on regular speedmode. AI seems to have problems with pathfinding when the speedmode is high and the unit density is high aswell. Using skiptime works more reliable for me.
Guest Ti0n3r Posted June 10, 2007 Very useful when testing custom mission. But now I mostly use a script I made a year ago or so for the same purpose. To have more exact control. Never used it while playing though.
