New Racs - Lite Version

Here's a list of some of the New/Improved/Fixed things you will have in Version 2.

List of changes:

New:

- A second team of Racs\Mercs using a Jungle/Woodland cammo (Team 2) you find them in the Independet side under the Merc Soldiers class, you can also use F2 inside the editor and choose them as a group.

- 7 new weapons, 2 Fn-Fal (iron sights and sniper scope), HK-Ump, Walther 9mm MPL (used as a pistol), M16A4, M16A4-M203 and an HK-23e making now a total of 12 weapons.

- First approach to High Dispersion weapons/magazines, only East and Racs for now since this will in my opinion need to be changed many times, it will be very hard to make everybody happy, so I will do this slowly with your help (according to your feedback), you find them in the Editor inside the HD Soldiers class, now we have an option to Super AI firing as well as the possibility to have larger firefights. A nice addition to our missions specially if mixed with normal soldiers using different skill levels.

- Muzzle Flashes for all the weapons, check them firing at night.

- Recoils (very close to BIS values).

- Miner and Sniper model added.

- Map pictures (gives a nice look to the units in the editor and makes it easier to identify who is who ex:soldier, machine gunner, miner, AT ...).

- New impact sounds for all the bullets, both my weapons and High-Dispersion.

- Shadows have been 100% changed by new models, less polys and better quality (smoother gameplay).

- AI long distance firing, now the AI should fire slowly at long distances instead of just wasting ammo.

- AI firing logic, AI should fire a lot better now between the Short/Medium/Long distances and also select between the firing modes Single/Burst/Auto better.

Improved:

- Sounds.

- Animations.

- Guear Pictures (weapons and magazines).

- Reworked config file to make this weapons behave close to BIS ones, values like dispersion, rate of fire, range on fire, hit values and speed of the bullet travel have all been reworked.

- Iron sights.

- Soldiers textures.

- Weapons Models and textures.

- Normal Mapping.

- Soldiers behaviour in accuracy and camouflage.

Fixed:

- Colt Anaconda sound.

- M60 config (not enganging well at long distance).

- M14 barrel.

Sorry mate, I have to test Version 2 at least for two days with 1.08, I need to be sure that everything is working correctely to avoid bugs at all costs. Wednesday should be the day of the release  wink_o.gif

wonderfull, a HK21 :-) that's gona rock!

i've got a request however, right now you've only made a small group with the new camo. can you please also retexture the remaining RACS units? that's mainly the Officer and Royal Comandos.

In that case we could use your team one textures (they look bloody good!wink_o.gif as total replacement for the vanila bis RACS (i really dislike those textures' look)

btw, with a Hensoldt scope the HK21 would give a nice sniper weapon.

I will do it in version 3, in this version there are already 2 more models (Miner and Sniper), for the next version it's just a question of making the Officer and Grenadier models.

dude, this addon made me play ArmA for the first time since months and that says something  notworthy.gif  I'm still not satisfied with the game itself, but this addon is of incredible quality!! (edit: hmm, dit not see thet 1.08 is out already, gonna try it out to see if the game is better now, hope so)

Perhaps weapon-sounds could be improved a bit in the future, but for the rest I'm in love with this addon. And I totaly love the camouflage. Isen't that desert camouflage egyptian?

Thank you very much for your nice words Cpt. FrostBite, 1.08 patch seems to be a good step forward in improving the game, I suggest that you give it a try wink_o.gif

About the camouflage, yes the base was Egyptian but I change it a little bit to make it blend better in game, the sounds have been changed for some of the weapons.

Now the usual update biggrin_o.gif

I spent many hours fixing little things, improving here and there and I've been beta testing Version 2 extensively. One thing that I improved a lot was the accuracy of the weapons, they are now really accurate (just like BIS ones).

On a side note, the initspeed of the Uzi, Walther and UMP is like 50% of the assault rifles (again like BIS and like reality) so it means that this weapons are not supposed to be accurate on large distances so please don't send me emails saying that you can't hit an enemy soldier at 300 meters with the Uzi as someone did already biggrin_o.gif

Wich russian camo you do? KLMK camo too (the camo in your signature)?

Is there a way to replace the original RACS with those? I know there are replacement packs for BLUFOR/SF and OPFOR. Or are your new units equipped with stuff not compatible? They simply look great !
