[xdf]kanga 0 Posted April 12, 2007 Australians At War goes live http://aaw.xtremedefenceforce.com/ Australians At Wars goal is to bring the ADF from Vietnam to today's and the futures Hardened and Networked Army into the Armed Assault environment. Our mod team is a small but skilled and dedicated team and is looking for new skilled members to help us out. If you think you have what it takes and could be of real use to the team then please drop us a message in the recruitment section of our forums. We hope to bring everything from weapons, islands, soldiers, vehicles, air and watercraft from both the Vietnam era to today and tomorrows Hardened and Networked army. EricM 0 Posted April 13, 2007 Sorry for my ignorance, but in which conflicts were Australians involved ? (that's a true innocent question, no sarcasm involved) I can think of East Timor peace keeping operation (is that right?), but Australia seemed a rather peaceful country to me*... Like Switzerland or Sweden, but warmer... * : except on a rugby field...

bana 0 Posted April 14, 2007 Yes, it was Cambodia, not Thailand. Aussies also fought in the Rhodesian War, but as individual soldiers in Rhodesian units, not as Australian units.
cozza 24 Posted April 14, 2007 Well there right next to each other, I got confused
Ironsight 1 Posted April 14, 2007 Aussies also fought in the Rhodesian War, but as individual soldiers in Rhodesian units, not as Australian units. The whole world fought in the Rhodesian Bushwar.
MontyVCB 0 Posted April 14, 2007 The SASR were more feared amoungst the Vietcong than the US SF were. Afaik they only lost one man in action (might be wrong). Which would be impressive even since they did only have a small force in the country at the time.
Col. Faulkner 0 Posted April 14, 2007 The SASR were more feared amoungst the Vietcong than the US SF were... "While the Uc Dai Loi are arrogant and bellicose they are hardy and react fiercely to attack..." Â (from a captured VC intel document, Phuoc Tuy Province) I was thinking about doing ANZAC troops in Vietnam myself at some point, but it looks like you'll have it well covered. EricM 0 Posted April 26, 2007 Very nice cars, but they seem a little high in polygons... How many triangles do they have ? Or do you have a lower poly version to extract a normal map ?
Barry the baldy 0 Posted April 26, 2007 You could drop the polys on the wheels then just normal map to get the treads. That right there will drop a significant amount from the model.

Messiah 2 Posted April 26, 2007 very nice land rover - the bonnet hinges look a little small though? Unless the aussie one differs a lot more than I thought to the british. the tarp cleats are a little overkill - the same can easily be achived by textures and normal maps, but its a very nice model indeed
