Dwarden 1125 Posted April 21, 2007 another bug AI squads are spawning out of nowhere WHILE you are looking at that place ... it's quite strange when u drive e.g. apc and all of sudden 50-100m infront of You spawn squad of 8 enemies ... you get hit by RPG before realizing wth is going on ... it's spawn, i experienced this multiple times (even on foots) ... i hope it can be done that AI squads spawn only if they not within Line of Sight from player ... Bama 0 Posted April 21, 2007 Has anyone experianced the bug which player suddenly be teleported to far sea while in vehicle? Yes, several times. Seems to happen mostly while flying. We've just started testing the 1.4c and cant clear the first town. AI's are spawing into town and cant seem to cut their numbers down before they all respawn again. Seems there is a problem with csar 20 , ill check it out. if it shows you the far bottom left hand corner of the map in the sea, abandon the mission and do somthing else. funny thing is it works sometimes. Red Devil 0 Posted April 21, 2007 both my CTD today have been while looking at large groups of SLA. also had some heavy lag whenever the rain hit, after that I was dodging the rain clouds from fear of lag rather than getting wet. also I started the ambush mission and the convoy started near pita!! might be a good idea to remove a point or 2 everytime you die, otherwise medics are worthless, just respawn if your lost, injured or out of ammo and your back at base ready to go again. KilJoy -SFG- 0 Posted April 21, 2007 I have released version 1.4d and you can get it from the first post. The penalty is added to prevent the kamikaze move. I would be interested to know if anyone experiences client crashes with this version. Dwarden sounds like a nice idea. But I think there would have to be more vehicles at the farps. Red Devil im not entirly convinced the weather causes any lagg, i havent noticed red chain when it rains. For the most part its a vary client sided affair. Â simple solution ... add to each farp 3 trucks (for supply,fuel,ammo) which are static (locked) ... again to prevent TK destruction , respawn time 5-10m on each... or even simpler ... add to FARP repair/reload/refuel pod ... again works only if area around is safe ... USAV005 0 Posted April 21, 2007 Another option would be to make a "repair/refuel" chopper. Â With this you could fly to a downed unit and get it to whatever the minimum running specs are... then the downed unit could be driven/flown to a FARP for full repairs. This would add the realism of having to watch assets without the trouble in convoying trucks across the map to recover vehicles others have crashed and left behind.. especially frustrating since the missions typically run for 15 hours or more with small groups. Great suggestion. I am a former helicopter pilot and I play on a mp server with former/current serving pilots too and the one thing we ask for is a "fat cow" (CH-47 with fuel bladders). But my only concern would be how this system would work. if you are pilot you would have to land close and switch to driver of the broken vehicle? its hard to get close to anything in a uh60 in arma. could you hover an empty vehicle and it is repaired with no one in it? if 2 people are involved one driver of stricken vehicle and one chopper pilot , who should get the repair points as there would be a reward for this action? An idea that is going around in my head and others is the concept of a personal vehicle. this vehicle you could "requisition" for a cost to your score. you would have the ability to lock this vehicle and unlock it at will. The vehicle could be any type of west vehicle in the game already that your rank would permit you to drive. should the vehicle get lost in the battle you can retrieve it and repair it or order another one at a loss of points. possibility you could trade in your old vehicle to offset the cost of the new one. should the system be put in place you could ignore it totally as the default vehicle selection would remain. But should you gain rank to colonel and all cobras are lost at sea or lost in a danger zone for example you would have a second option. Id like to know what people think about that. Id like to know what people think about that. @Kiljoy The pilot should get the points as it does require a little skill to hover so close to a vehicle. I've had to do it many times to rearm the AH-1 and UH-60 with guns. So it would take team work with at least two "cleaning up" the battlefield. We help each other get points, so for us it wouldn't be an issue just who gets the points. The one who needs the points if often given the tasks that rack up the points...like gun position in AH-1 Â Also if no points for a refuel/repair then we wouldn't bitch about that either, since we don't get points currently for that task anyway..do we? So it can also be used for refuel/repair. That way our organization can get one step closer to the realism that we are looking for. Sofar in my testing with the penalty I find it hard to not consider any offensive moves to be "kamikazi" when the AI dishes out headshots from 500+ yards using AK iron sights.
