rekster still a client crash bug yes, i am working on it i have a method now for detecting the problem better so it wont be long unitll i figure it out.

I had an ammo removing trigger i took it out temporarly, it will be back in in the next version.

Wpat mission has a bug will be fixed soon.

Dwarden I stole that uaz it didnt disapper (on the hillside in pariso right?). empty enemy city vehicles only dissapper when destroyed.

-i understand what you mean . what is hapining is you are recruting people who have a higher rank and its a feture of arma when the leader dies command goes to the higest ranking player in the squad. since ranks are dynamic in evoloution this causes a problem. I will have to think about it.

boat missions bugged in 1.4b

head movement dead flying choppers and rearming are all arma bugs. first 2 caused by dysnc.

Interaction bug i got for the first time last night very strange , not sure yet what is the cause but it seems to happin after you spawn form being dead.

december, would be interesting to give engineers a job like that, maybe they carry a small tank of fuel and a toolbox. Ill keep it in mind.

PaveQ i know what you mean i may disable rain when 1 hour day is enabled.

mohsen i dont mind servers renaming the mission to suit there listing method.

What about allowing the Pilot class and Crew class to have the ability to put a little fuel and a little armor on their class of vehicles. That would facilitate getting helos back into play even though they would have to hop them back little by little.

If speed = 0 and altitude = 0 and vehicle driver is x_class then repair 1 unit

Repeating it once every so many seconds.

What a Coop ! The best Coop Map we[J4F] have ever seen.

But 2 Questions :

First : What the Hell does the Phone ?

Second : How i use the Ammonition Truck ? We cant reammo Strikers, Tanks and so on !

Second. I think you experiance the arma reload bug. save some ammo and they will reload. If you use it all they wont.

2. as an Redforce Player i would like to see an "REvolution" Version of the Map, playing as Redforce against the bad Blueforce troops..

and about the reloading deal, we just like to blow up the vehicles then repair/refuel and magicly you got all the ammo back

works best on the airport itself, but having ai following just outside of the city in those 2 trucks works good too

1.4b CTD just as I was about to land a chopper. Happened in just the same way last time I played 1.3a :-/

i would really like have those mh6 choppers respawning again, from a certain point it's a really long travel to north sara towns and to repair a chopper, you need mostly ai's to help which are driving like a drunken bastards. well anyway i can stick to 1.3a

In 1.4a

1. Paraiso, the first city seemed like it had a ton of men, jeeps and BRDM's compared to before. 2 guys playing, we had almost 125 points each when done. Is that right? Personally, I *like* it.

2. In 1.3 and before, I could "capture" a T72 by shooting it, then getting the men to pop out, kill them and then get in and repair the T72... but now in 1.4a it won't let me get in enemy armor anymore.. is that on purpose?

I have released version 1.4c and you can get it from the first post.

satexas69 the entire city spawn system is different now as of 1.4, a lot more in pariso, when i have the counter on its usualy about 120 to 130 enemy now. And if all west units are defeted in the zone the enemy is fully reinforced next time the city is visited. If playing in small numbers you may want to leave an Ai squadmate in the zone hidden to prevent this.

Some enemy vehicles are locked the ones from missions. but city vehicles are unlocked , its possibil you experienced the no action menu bug at the time. one way to tell this is if you dont get a gear menu at the vehicle as all vehicles that are locked should show you this option.

Control I'm working on the ctd's.

WillardBL thats a great name for a red evo campaign. there will be one eventually, i would like to play as red too , I love komov and bmp2. The only thing is hand held weapon upgrades wouldent have as meny upgrade options. But not a real big deal.

i noticed that the mission is heavy and causes lag to players.

I also notice that you use civil to drop points in players.

in my opinion these "crappy" civilians are there to cause lag! They do nothing else but lag and steal 1 point if you shoot them.

Suggestion1: remove the crappy Civil from towns. Will reduce lag and might turn mission smoother.

Suggestion2: As already mentioned, add m9 at start.

Suggestion3: Remove chopper respawn, its irritating. Only spawn if they crash on water. (if possible)

Suggestion4: Reduce LAG and make mission smoother.

Suggestion5: Ask BIS to optimize game.

LOL you are obsessed with the m9, I bet if you think about it you never need it unless you dont have it. As far as i can tell most lagg is caused when a city zone is woken up as a lot of units spawn at this time. i might have to break up larger citys into smaller sections. this might help the problem. chopper respawn was requested by more people then no respawn, its an optional param you could complain to your admin biggrin_o.gif. BIS want to make my life hell by not reveling the meaning of the reports in the arma.rpt file. Also they have stated that usermade missions ctd's are a low level priority. sad_o.gif

Hey KilJoy. First off, great coop mission you have designed here.

I also have a question about the rank points. Would you be against creating a variable in game for the admins in each server to set the rank score? For example, the admin could lower rank scores by half (CPL=5, SGT=15, COL=100, etc.).

I think that an element missing in the mission is the "combined arms" feel of troops, armor, transports, and air support earlier in the mission. For example, you have to be colonel (200 pts) to drive a M1A1 tank. By the time someone actually gets 200 pts, the team is usually far into the north island and air travel is prefered.

If you were against added an admin option to change rank point values, then would you be against a properly named modified server with lower points for each rank, such as cutting the points in half across the board?

I ask about this because many family people just can't dedicate the hours it takes to get major or colonel in one mission. A lowered point value for rank will bring vehicles to life earlier on in the game, while still keeping the basic concept of the rank evolution system in tact.

I ask this because I wouldn't change your Evolution mission files on my own for public use unless I had your approval. I know you are generally against modified versions of your mission, but the rank point values are a relatively minor (and easy) change that would enhance the gameplay for players with limited playing time, like myself.

Your thoughts on this issue? And, does anyone else think this is a good/bad idea?

Killjoy I have a question for you about mission.

Last night while testing 1.4b with Aussie_Dave, we have an player by the name ImBack join the mission and run some command, which now of us were able to find out what it was, but it instantly killed all players and destroyed every vehicle, building, soldier and odject around each player, one town was almost wiped of the map (due to most players were hunting AI enemy in it), at this point he just left.

You know if there is an player nuke script running in the mission that admin's should know about ?

As this upset everyone on the server and had to restart the mission to fix the vindictive act of one player.

Hope you know of a fix for this!

I agree, lower the vehicle requirements or the points needed for rank. Maybe base it on the number of people playing and dynamically increase the needed points as more join.

Can kills by my AI be counted ? I m sick of my AT soldier getting kills that should be mine biggrin_o.gif

Great mission guy !

But since we play 1.4 version on our server, it crash often, and players get CTD too often. I play 1.4 on others servers and get same CTD everytime. Anyone has a solution to avoid those crashs ? Is 1.3 version is more stable ?

I'm in trouble because this mission is one of the best and i really would like to play it most of the time !

I think the RANKING points are just about perfect right now.

With the addition of tons of units in Paraiso, the first clost city, you literally can get Major in the first town, without using ANY armor or choppers - only respawnable HMMV's.

And yes, I often play with 2-3 people only on our dedicated server.

Please don't mess with the points, but put the respawnable choppers back, at least as an options per my various earlier reasons listed.

FUSION: Suggestion - early on, don't use AI to fight with you, just use them as transport guys - and use the AI later as gunners in equipment when you DO get credit for their kills. I generally have an AI with me in my Hummer, and them have him drive it back when I get out.. so he's waiting on me when I die... OR, if I need rockets, he can drive TO where I'm at because he's like a mobile crate. OR - if you want them with you in a city, have them hang back, basically covering your butt or being lookout while you press forward, etc etc.

Lots of CTD on our sever also with 1.4c. Each player was getting a CTD every 30 minutes to an hour. All crashes were just client side, and the server itself always continued to run.

There seems to be CTD as a helicopter was approaching or I was on one and about to land; but it could have been coincidence. Also, CTD came in groups of players at exactly the same time. We were on Teamspeak, and verfied when we were CTD. Not everyone on sever CTD, just groups of us at different times... seemed to be random players, but usually it was players close to each other on the map that would CTD at same time.

Hope this info helps you fix the CTD issue Kiljoy. I know you are aware of it, but I wanted to share this info from our server so maybe it will help isolate the problem.

As Kenbow says the server keeps going so we can't give you a server.rpt. How about a client report?

I did crash today when my chopper was going to land, 3 of us crashed 2 stayed in game, think u were there Kiljoy wink_o.gif

I think the players that crashed were players that were on the server longer. Could it be some problem with scripts running/looping and causing it?

i suggest You remove that mounted MG located at airfield spawn (aimed at our helicopters) ...

either move it so it aim to north or remove it completely (leave only bunker w/o MG) ...

it's only purpose is "TK my vehicle by this MG" for now ...

p.s. btw. are medics rewarded for healing wounded friendly?

nope it has to be a arma_server.rpt, client doesnt show the debug info i put in sad_o.gif preferbly from 1.4c to.

Dwarden good point, long time ago specopps used to rush the base. ill remove it.

Kenbow that sounds right, every time I crash my client always produces the same error, im sure if anyone else checked they would always see the same thing

This messege is related to an enemy unit who in this case is the 5th member of his squad. I have no idea what the (no person) part means. As BIS wants to leave us guess log meanings.

I presume it means he is somone with no body. but how that happins i dont know.

The squad is not always the same and neither is the unit number.

This is always the last line in the clients RPT file before a crash.

The server log instead of just a a squad code will tell me what city or mission this unit is from. and if he is a vehicle driver of on foot.
