Agreed with all people above my reply, imho, echoes are a little bit too loud.

And i would add there are no more "water sound" while driving a boat.

Nevertheless, your work is quite impressive and really armazing. You must be proud of it: Congratulation and keep it up guys! notworthy.gif

Thanks for your mod thumbs-up.gif

pretty good. I like most of the explosions. The grenade blast needs changing. Most of the guns are a lot better now but a few are quite poor.

I have few questions though. Where did you get the sounds? Are they from the OPFLSH FDF mod?

Also I'm currently making a V2 of my soundpack and so could u link me to some kind of guide that explains how to make config files?

thanks and GREAT work!

It seems Frederf´s Desert M24 Addon is conflicting with this soundmod.

Everytime i try to start both addons together ArmA crashes at startup and tells something about ".. circular addon dependencies .."

Not so bad though, never really needed a desert M24.

Thank´s for the info, we well investigate what´s wrong there.

Frederf already fixed his addon, looks like the bug originated from his .cpp: Klicky

Quote[/b] ]rifles are far too echoey

yeah my thinking also.

Nice sounds in general (great M4/M4 Silienced). MP5 a tad 'putt!'.

Nice mg sounds - but shouldn't the 7.62 have more of a low pitched 'clatter' than the 5.56?

Think the main problem here - and have switched the mod in&out several times to confirm my instinct -- with the longer echo we are missing the delightful "thunk!" of the round meeting & greeting the meat. Particularly noiceable with the current MP5SD6 - great rattle off the bolt but it covers & extends beyond impact.

Great first Alpha though .. thx to the FDF lot

I couldn't hear any tank engine sounds when running this sad_o.gif

@DarkSoul There is a whoosh sound on that vid. I didn't hear that in the mod.

EDIT. I can hear the tank, it just too faint and too weak sound for a tank.

If there is a small rise between you and the tank the sound is lost.

Just installed and tested it.

Whilst it's not bad, I have to say I prefer the standard ArmA sounds. The rifles are far too echoey, firing an M4 in open ground sounds like firing a sniper rifle in a cave.

I agree 100% but I don't prefer the original sounds.

Nice work FDF. smile_o.gif

Yep, the M4 sound is defenitely better in Predator´s mod...I think I´m going import that sound to fdf_sounds. AK-sounds are bit strange and there´s a bit too much echo.

Still, well done fdf-guys!

Great work! thumbs-up.gif

But i can`t hear tanks either??

and when someone fires from distance, sound is a bit too weak.

Personally a would leave original tank and explosions sounds

I use EAX

Make sure you have the respective author's permission to do so.

err I don't think you need authors permission to edit the pack for personal use but to release it edited is a different matter.

Anything that is published on the internet is automatically copyrighted, all rights reserved. This means you have no right to do anything to it. FDFmod's readme says stuff about not distributing derivative works without permission, but nothing about editting it. I'm not sure if this means they condone it or not, they don't say, so it's best to ask out of courtesy, I think. The Predator doesn't say anything other than he reserves all rights. Again, I think it's best to ask, given that what you are fiddling with is their property whether you see it that way or not. Regardless of what I think of your Soundmod, Novusordo, I would ask you if you minded if I tore it apart to see what makes it tick, or to 'make it better' (which I would surmise that you would find mildly insulting).

You can edit FDF mod stuff however you want as long as you don't redistribute whatever changes you made.

This is mainly because people would do all kinds of tweaks and then crash dedicated servers when they joined with their homemade mods (especially animation packs were notorious in this regard). And then everyone would email and bitch about it to FDF mod team.

So it's just easier for us to forbid all redistribution without explicit permission. If you want to use parts of FDF mod in your own works, just ask and we'll talk. There's lots of cooperation between different addon makers and mod teams as FDF Mod credits can tell.

Actually if you changed my soundpack and released an improved version, I'd be delighted and proably try to outdo it myself.

BTW what do you think of my soundpack?

Import them you say.. lol i was thinking about the same thing until i realised that they dont use the same "Sound Configurations" eg. M4 Firing in FDF is defined as 3 x Singlew shot sound clip whereas Burst fire in Predators is defined as a custom sound.. ]

and the coding AHHHH the coding.

This is a video of most of the changes I made to FDF sound pack that I am personally and exclusively using in ArmA.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4--aKxfBWM

I changed nearly all the small arms firing sounds and alot of the heavy guns like the heavy MG's and turret/arial guns. I changed about half of the explosion sounds, too.

Will an FDF member be interested in these sounds and releasing them in the next FDF sound pack release?
