-TW-Fox 0 Posted March 1, 2007 Hi all, Been playing AA happily for a few weeks, with the exception of apalling framerate, using an X850 XT PE. Installed a new GeForce 8800GTS today, after totally removing the ATi drivers, using Drivercleaner, etc. Everything works fine with the new card, except ArmA. I get awful texture curruption - the sky is a mass of bright yellow shapes and most of the screen is pretty dark. Any suggestions?
Bunkers 0 Posted March 2, 2007 Welcome to the "8800-misery-club" I would not recommend ArmA players to buy those cards at the moment. Lots of issues.
-TwK-Danny 0 Posted March 2, 2007 I would try reinstalling the game. Might be that it needs to re-detect the correct graphics card. Worth the try i think..

bionic 10 Posted March 3, 2007 Noooo! 1.05 was the kill for me the first few minutes the game looks okay but than it begins to become ugly (very ugly) When the problems starts ist looks like this Alt-Tab brings nothing http://img144.imageshack.us/img144....MG] http://img237.imageshack.us/img237....MG] than: http://img237.imageshack.us/img237....MG] http://img141.imageshack.us/img141....MG] And when i try to get the problem solved by reduceing the texture quality the screen changes to this http://img381.imageshack.us/img381....MG] and nothing happens but when i hit Esc the old settings are restored and i get screens like the first 4 pics i posted. Any idea whats going wrong? I don´t want to blame BIS for this in first place since i don´t know it is the gfx card, the driver, any hardware issue ,ArmA or something else but it doesn´t look very promising to me. slingblade20000 0 Posted March 3, 2007 Just an idea, but i looks like your textures streaming from your hard drive arent keeping up with your video card need for them. Then the last pick looks like its starved for information[Textures]. How long before it crashed?
anc 0 Posted March 3, 2007 I'm running XP SP2. There are another thread here about the same error. Unfortunately i can't find it. But most of the ppl that are having this problem have 128MB VGA. I was playing now. 10 minutes after i started look what happened: http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/3115/arma2007030223145505xx5.jpg The frames dropped from 30fps to 20fps, 10fps or even less. Whats the problem? This didnt use to happen with only 10 minutes game playing. I hope some one from BIS can tell was what to do, or fix this I guess ill just have to stop playing the game again, untill they fix this problem For me its unplayable, i cant just close the game each 10 minutes so that the textures loads again =/
berowe 0 Posted March 3, 2007 Happens to me too with: XP 7900GS (newest drivers) It does seem to happen more after I've been playing for a while, but also I've noticed that for me it occurs solely in multiplayer. I can have thousands of units running around downtown paraiso with no problems in SP, but walking through an empty desert in MP my textures would vanish. CG Man 0 Posted March 3, 2007 ARMA will run fine and best on that series 8 card it's normal for developers to sell PC games before their tested on any hardware. Â Look at Total War its month 4 Â and still waiting for a patch to cure it. My graphics turned into Atari 64 Â graphics when I used the sniper scope and the souund of engines and bullets cuts out after 5mins of play. I keep promising never to buy a PC game till it's finnished but they get me everytime with their Fac and screenshots.
JimLad 0 Posted March 3, 2007 I have the same problems and quite frankly it's pathetic.  Latest and best hardware and it's unplayable
anc 0 Posted March 3, 2007 It would be really good if one of the devs, come here and tell us what's going on. If they are working on the problem, if they will try to fix it. As i said before the game its UNPLAYABLE. With patch 1.05 i got more FPS, but thats just useless, since after 10 minutes after i start the game, i have this texture problem. I'm only asking an answer from a dev.
Speeeedy 0 Posted March 3, 2007 I got exactly the same issue, which starts after about +- 15 minutes of playing. I didnt have this problem before 1.05, but i also updated my NVidia videodrivers so it might be something related to the NVidia card as well.
bruun 0 Posted March 3, 2007 Oh boy can I relate to this topic! I've just bought an Evga GeForce 8800GTX ACS3 with 768 mb ram. I'm running Vista business (32 bit), and the demo (1.03) worked just fine, the game was even running 100% smooth when aiming into close foliage and trees! Arma finally hits the streets in a UK version and I go to buy it, and voila! The game turns unplayable. It's NOT satisfactory that the demo ran just fine, and the whole game runs VERY slow (even with poor textures as described above). How can this be? The 1.05 update didn't help at all, it actually made everything worse for me! I would also like some of the developers to comment on this excact issue. My system specs: Intel E6600 @ 3GHz 2 GB 800MHz corsair ram (dual channel) Evga Geforce 8800GTX ACS3 768 MB (Nvidia 100.65 drivers) Asus P5WD Deluxe mobo Creative X-Fi Platinum
Provac 0 Posted March 3, 2007 This is not a hardware issue, if you own a GTX/GTS card its not your drivers or your cards fault. This is strictly because of the patch, reason for this is that every single version has run flawlessly on my GTX up until 1.05 which started producing the same glitches you guys are explaining. Hopefully they will release an emergency patch to fix this issue.

The demo ran flawlessly however... But not the full game.

Now it looks pretty horrible along with some other mentioned problems. Thats why I am saying this is a game issue and not a hardware issue. It doesn't matter what version of the game you have, if it works in another version and not in example. English version that should tell you that its a game issue and not your hardware. For me now the game is unplayable so I just have to wait and hope that the next patch fixes this.

Key Dutch 0 Posted April 7, 2007 well, all ur problem (bugs) can be related to ur video cards, look at posts, all of u use nVidia videocards. for example i do not have sky bug, and only problem with textures i have , if i play over 2-3 hrs non stop, some biuldings of units drop they textures (for 1/10 of the second) to basic. but its easy solve, by rebooting system. Hmm i got rid of the "nvidia memory controler" and "ntune" as suggested in other posts. No texture bug ever now in 105 or beta.... before you do it, you will have to reboot about 3x times and tell it to ignore crap. Was a bit of a worry todo but seems fine. Dont really agree with you here! http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=55868 This problems are reported by both ATI and NVIDIA (I have the exact same prob.) users and are most likely some sort of gamebug. Or how else can people with SO different computers have the exact same problem? Beats me unless its a gamesbug. And its not a "overheated" card issue either (tried cooling mine with electronic freezespray). Win XP ATI X800 PRO, 256 Mb ram 1Gb dual channel ram Psu 450w etc.
