Its purpose is to reskin the game's infantry, vehicles and the island to winter scheme, to bring some cold, snowy athmosphere to the game from it's original tropical scheme. dm 9 Posted January 14, 2007 Cool cool (excuse the pun) I always did love playing winter missions in OFP, hopefully they'll be just as good if not better in ArmA. I know its not possible until the tools are out, but do you plan on making new models for the soldiers with suitable winter colthing, rather than just reskins? mr reality 0 Posted January 14, 2007 The reskinned infantry look ok to me, what else could be added to make them more realistic. Reskiining the vehicles would only require adding mud textures as i don't think many armed forces paint there vehicles white and black anymore. Would you be making a winter version of Sahrani or a new island because you'll have to remove all thoses palm trees and replace them with pine trees.. And as DeadMeatXM2 already said i too enjoyed the winter feel of flashpoint, it just seemed more dirty, gritty and miserable, just like real war. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

It did, but you have to admit that the ArmA soldier and vehicle models are of a much higher quality than there Flashpoint cousins. So reskins are all that's required in some cases. Guest Posted January 15, 2007 sounds really cool, I kinda figured if someone did this theyd just make the northern island winter (snow), but doing up the whole southern area with 'northern' type foliage for having whole island winter is brilliant. I loved the KEG Winter Stuff, and later all the added stuff by others, aswell as the whole FDF Mod A nice snow generator script would be awesome, reading Kegetys, it would be easier and less preformance problematic as with OFP... Just 5+ inches of ice with more snow getting added every weekend since December 20th. I know off subject but i had to rant.. Least Arma is like a little vacation from the cold and snow... DieAngel 0 Posted March 26, 2007 could it be possible to have uniforms a bit less "warm" i mean with a bit of snow crystals here and there, think like how your gears looks like when you go skiing, some snow on the boots creases and the pants, and some stuck into the buckles aswell as some snow dust on the helmet and shoulders. It's just a suggestion, just that right now it looks like these soldiers are just dressed in winter uniforms in a summer place. Also if the windshields could get some ice, makes em a bit harder to see through, i know that when i drive in winter you feel very "encased" int he vehicle as your field of view is reduced a lot byt the frozen water on the windows borders and where the windshield brushes can't go.
