mr burns 132 Posted December 4, 2006 First of all i´d like to thank Toadlife for this great OFP Mission! Credits for scripting, the idea, etc. all belongs to him, i only made it ArmA compatible (more or less). The test is worth a try, especially since many users have problems with ingame performance this could be handy to find the main differences in hardware leading to the huge varieties in playability on many rigs. Download - ArmA Mark v1.0 (click "Download" on the right and wait some seconds) Instruction: Quote[/b] ]Extract the .pbo included in the .zip to your x:\ArmA\Missions folder.- Start ArmA, go to "Options" and set Quality Preference to whatever you like. - Select Missions in the main menu and start the benchmark. - let it run through once, hit escape and then retry (helps for caching and preloading making the test more comparable). - once it´s done make a screenshot of your results and post them wherever you want (preferably here) - or enter your results to the ArmA Mark database (much appreciated). Result database can be found here: ArmA Mark Homepage edit: *Updated to final release* ------------------------------------------------------ - Results below are obsolete - Here are some example results from users on our german forums: Quote[/b] ]luemmel´s results Quote[/b] ]SchwarzAlbe- Results - Test One: 44 Test Two: 22.5979 Test Three: 48.1514 Test Four: 15.6189 Test Five: 19.7005 OPF Mark: 3001.37 WinXP SP 2 Gainward PowerPack! aus_twisted 0 Posted December 4, 2006 Good idea, I was using the opening cut scene of the campaign using Fraps to benchmark from the start to end testing different video card and CPU clock settings. One thing, shouldn't it be changed from "OFP Mark" to "ArmA Mark" ? Now I just need to get a 6600E and 8800GTX lol.
deanosbeano 0 Posted December 4, 2006 nice one burns old chap heres a quick change ,it shows something on every test , first test might be a little hogger , lemme know if ya want it to be more scaled , from easy to hard . arma mark

WhoCares 0 Posted December 4, 2006 I like this idea very much - looking at the startup switches of ArmA, it seems like BIS wanted to implement such a benchmark feature as well - too bad it isn't supported (yet?!.  Oh, and could [utw]-bert post some screenshots with 'maxed' settings, in the Photography thread and/or probably even here: Guru3D GF8800GTX Screenshots (we have to spread the word of this game outside of this forum  - nothing better to do it with such a high-end system  )
jerryhopper 286 Posted December 4, 2006 great stuff! checking it out asap! okay, i just wanted to checkout the score, its with my radio broadcast software running in the background. overall score : 888.202 specs : xp2800+ 1gb ram x800 512mb video
feersum.endjinn 6 Posted December 4, 2006 3110.36 ArmaMark http://img11.imagevenue.com/img.ph....5lo.jpg AMD Athlon X2 4400+ Nvidia 7900GS 256MB (clocked 550/700MHz) 1 GB DDR memory It seems to be very heavily dependent on amount of system memory and video memory and results can vary around 20% between run times because every test is in different part of island. Using "camPreload" command before each timed test would be better measure of real ingame performance since no vehicle is fast enough to zoom around island in just few seconds. It would also reduced need to have one dry run before actual measurement run to get everything cached.

feersum.endjinn 6 Posted December 4, 2006 Hmmm, Feer, something is wrong with your ArmA-Mark picture Not that I'd not like to have ArmA mark results like that, but... Imagevenue sometimes gives out broken links and it just redirects to random image instead With amount of not-safe-for-work stuff people upload there results can be interesting indeed. Should be fixed now tho.

paragraphic l 2 Posted December 4, 2006 First time I started my ArmA just got it by the mail. Had the test run 3 times.. this one is the last result Test One - 23.0059 Test Two - 19.4593 Test Three - 28.2467 Test Four - 16.0085 Test Five - 14.3971 OFPMark is 2023.07 Pentium M 1.73 GHz 1024mb RAM GeForce Go 6800 256mb Don't have a clue what these numbers say about my notebook. CanisDEK 1 Posted December 4, 2006 Test 1: 51,0965 Test 2: 24,3259 Test 3: 46,1743 Test 4: 20,4604 Test 5: 18,4556 ARMA MARK: 3210,25 My setup - Athlon X2 3800+ - 2GB RAM - n-Force 4 (ASUS A8N32SLI-deluxe) - GeForce 7900 GTX 512MB (Underclocked by 100MHz) - Using onboard surround sound (which slows games down... need a good sound card soon) _ Then I did further tests with the settings I use when actually play the game. Settings 1280x960x32 85Hz 1200 View Distance Landscape: Very High Objects: High Textures: High Shading: Very High Post Proc.: Low Anisotropic: Very High Shadows: High Blood: High I got the following results Test 1: 45,2295 Test 2: 20,4656 Test 3: 43,1359 Test 4: 16,2866 Test 5: 12,8929 ARMA MARK: 2760,21 While it isn't that much lower than with the "Normal" setting I just don't understand where the 18 fps in the first test and the 12 fps in the second test come from. I have played for hours and I have yet to see anything lower than 29, using the settings above. (I use FRAPS to measure fps) ____ Then I did another test. I set -maxmem=1024 since I have 2GB memory and then ran 10 tests. They were all worse than my regular scores! Then I set -maxmem=512, since I have 512 MB video ram and the results were just about the same as my regular scores without -maxmem=xx - but still they were just a tiny bit lower. WhoCares 0 Posted December 4, 2006 People, please add the amount of RAM on your graphic card to your statistics, as it seems as it is an important factor to the overall performance of ArmA. Otherwise nice to see some stats of systems close to my current machine and with some potential upgrades
=BFP=Cheetah 0 Posted December 4, 2006 @CanisDEK These results are different from FPS as far as I know. It's probably a score based on the time your pc needs to go to the next camera position, or complete a number of camera movements.

CanisDEK 1 Posted December 4, 2006 lol the guy with a 8800GTX got 8800 ARMA Mark. That's wicked! Guess I better look at that card to replace my 7900GTX.
feersum.endjinn 6 Posted December 4, 2006 Those numbers seem bit random at medium range and don't really line up with hardware people have got... Better benchmark probably would be to have various complex scenes with units in them and have camera runs through city/desert/forest terrain at walking/land vehicle/aircraft speed and then have Fraps take minimum/maximum/average frame rates throughout whole thing. WhoCares 0 Posted December 4, 2006 My run (Mark 0.1): Athlon64 3500+, MSI GF6600GT 128MB (GDDR3), 2x512MB PC3200 RAM, 160GB S-ATA2 Hitachi HD, A8N SLi Deluxe, X-Fi Xtreme Music; (-maxmem=666) Odd enough, looking at all the other results I would have expected a lower score. Esp. when looking at CanisDEKs score. Test 1 & 3 (UAZ and Tank) just showed open water? Looking at some of the other results again it really looks like it is mostly a CPU benchmark (keep in mind that the game does  benefit very little from dual cores) Edit: Did another run on the standard 'Very High' @1280x1024 resolution - terrible graphics as the textures do not load fast enough in the fast-moving scenes... yarex 0 Posted December 5, 2006 This game is SO MUCH CPU dependant!!! Well, it depends on angle of view. The better graphics card you have, the more powerful processor you need to feed it with the data. For example even fastest todays pc processors have problem to 100% feed latest dx10 cards , so the processor power can really affect game performance, if you have good gfx card.
