Any bordeaux fans? Arsenal signed Chamakh, wondering if he's good enough to do well @ the emirates?

Yup, this guy is rather skilled.

Lyon did us, now France did our players. :( I don't give a fuck about England but it is bad to see Arsenal players loosing with their national teams. I have to say though, Rachel Yankey, who I think has been one of our best Ladies at Arsenal for a while now, had a ineffectual game.

Ah well, roll on the Asia tour.

No, I'm not following it. I did watch a lot of under-17 matches in the European and World Cups recently, partially because some Ajax (my team) players were participating. I watch a few international matches of female teams a year, and it's not bad if you're watching the right teams, a lot less tactical/malicious as "modern" football. Nationally, the womens league is pretty much dead, with the crisis forcing teams to make cuts, the womens team often ending up as being the first to be cut. The number of teams went down from 9 to 7, and none of the big clubs is participating at all because they don't think it's economically viable. The number of registered female players has been on the rise for years, but the sponsoring, media coverage and attendance are still negligible. I don't know what the situation in Germany and the US is, but in the Netherlands, players are semi-professional without trying to go pro simply because the pay is worth little more than an expense account.

I think there is enough time to see them both go. It is Arsene's fault that they feel like they need to move on, he has had years to rebuild that team after the Birmingham game in 2008 destroyed it and, because he didn't, now the top quality players all want to leave because they are being teamed up with Denilson, Bendtner, Eboue, Almunia, ect rather than a team built to win things.

Nasri looks likely to go, Cesc looks less likely as the days go by because Barca aren't bidding, they are bullying (and being FC UEFA they will get away with it).

At least Wenger could claim a 'moral victory' when they get beaten. :D

''We lacked the mental sharpness''

''We just dropped a bit physically in the second half''

''I believe the pitch did not help us''

'They will be better in two or three more years because they will be even more experienced'' that was 4 years ago!

“When you have to play Champions League qualifiers so early, you push players and they get injuries, which is what has happened.†whos fault is it your qualifying?

Cannot be dealing with more of these this season!

I think he should be sacked if he says "mental strength" or LANS one more time.

Well i have to say as a United faithful, i'm quite looking forward to the season. I am quite prepared for a year without any silverware. But going off pre-season and the CS it looks very promising, i am especially excited to see what the youngsters can do given a longer stint in the first team.

I know the community shield cant really be used as a benchmark, but i'm content with the thought that we are at the begining of another great Fergie team. Now comon Sneijder, sign already...

Although watching how Cleverly has progressed over the past 2/3 years, he has got the potential to be as good as Scholes at his prime. He used to run the reserve midfield against any opponent when Ole was in charge. The loan spell last season has done him the world of good.

As for Arsenal, it looks pretty certain now that Nasri and Fabregas are as good as gone, you needed a stonger defence and a holding player last year. Now your going to have to replace those two. Not a good time for ou gooners. Ok i dont like Arsenal or Wenger but i do admire the way they play football. I'm happy to watch good games of good looking football, with Arsenal not really going anywhere. But if i was a supporter, at this point i would be definatly looking for a replacement to Wenger. He has had time to build and rebuild squads since the undefeated 03/04 team, which in the end do not cut it.

Well actually it isn't as if we didn't have a completed team in 2008. Post Henry, post invincibles, post Wenger's initial drift into insanity.

The problem is that every season we play against Birmingham, every season Birmingham destroy the team and every season we flop just after playing Birmingham. 2008/2009 was Martin Taylor's attack on Eduardo and Gallas's mental breakdown, 2009/2010 we were at the top of the league until we played Birmingham. 2010/2011 we were going strong in all competitions and crashed out of all of them after the Carling Cup final failure to Birmingham.

I was hoping that we could keep Fabregas (Nasri can fuck right off) and get a few decent players in and get a season without Brum for once.

Since you guys are speaking of Arsenal I will just throw this out there:

Yes, I'm a Udinese fan.

51310.th.png

But I'm not too confident for the elimination round, since Udinese just lost two valuable players like Sanchez and Inler.

Plus, playing against such a famous and skilled team like Arsenal, our players might also have to overcome some kind of inferiority complex or stuff like that.

Well I hope they will put up a good match at least.

You will probably win mate, Arsenal are a team that throw games away. Even if they had 90% possession an Eboue/Almunia/ect sized fuck up will cost us the game.
