snoops_213 75 Posted July 29, 2006 Well i just went to simhq.com and I saw that they are reporting that two seperate standalone games will be released by BIA very shortly, based on the VBS1 engine. Is there any word/comments from BIS or BIA on how we are goning to be able to purchase these? What other details can you give us? Does that mean that the BIA crew are still waiting for the final ArmA/Game2 engine to be completed before they start VBS2 or they that bloody good they do this in their spare time? PS the aurthor has realized that he screwed up the name of the second game it is "Australians in Vietnam" not Austrians
Sdstorage 0 Posted July 29, 2006 At present, this may be the most prevalent forum to discuss this topic. VBS1 lite and Australians in Vietnam represent the final OFP/VBS1 based game that will be available to the public from BIS/BIA. After watching both videos created by Magnum of SIM HQ, I am impressed all around. I especially like the wildlife presence of sheep in the VBS video. It makes me wonder what other wildlife will be around in ArmA, besides the birds and the bees they've already stated. If Magnum is correct and this product is released at a $25 price point, I am certain to pick it up. I wonder how does VBS1 Lite compare to OFP: Elite? Both are more developed versions of OFP. Australians in Vietnam shows us artillery, which many of you have been clamoring for. Does it meet your expectations? At one point in the video, we see a chinook transporting an artillery piece. It has been stated that artillery will be physically represented in ArmA. This might be the first version. This is all quite exciting, but terribly underreported by BIA. Do they even have their own forum for us to speculate and debate? Perhaps it is time to create one.

deanosbeano 0 Posted August 1, 2006 Ah the old ofp2 nam debate . pitty they changed the ofp2 site to arma. if you wtched channel 1930 1950 and err 1960. there was bits of stuff from vietnam japan etc. many thought the helmets in that pic was first used in korea and that was where ofp2 would be set, i am too noob to know, but loved the debate and mystery. btw here is the original of that picture. its from a vietnam site so i guess that tells a story in itself. . sniperandy 0 Posted August 1, 2006 I wouldn't raise speculations on this. It is certainly NOT OFP2 or whatever you wanna call it. "They" don't even have DEV's yet. AntipopAU 3 Posted August 3, 2006 Hey Guys, Some Questions. 1. Will VBS1 Lite become public? 2. Does it have, as West ADF Military, and West Iraq Insurgent men and vehicles? Or what? 3. Will it become avaliable to Australia? 4. Estimated Time of avaliability? Thanks - Hurley
