echo1 0 Posted June 14, 2006 Excelent work! Would love to see those Green Berets in this ACU EDIT: You should make version with the BDU and Desert camo gear replaced with ACU ones
chipper 0 Posted June 14, 2006 I don't like the coloring of the ACU here. IMO it should be more like FFUR's ACU.
olemissrebel 0 Posted June 14, 2006 well, that's what it looks like in real life, so i don't have a problem with it. the ranger scrolls are worn on both arms, not that random crest. if you want some pictures of it, let me know.
BlackScorpion 0 Posted June 14, 2006 Well, AFAIK, that would be the earlier generation ACUs. The later generations are more tan-ish, not blue-shaded (check DLEMs I think). Although both are used and the design does change it's shade a bit in different lightnings. Although I might be wrong as I haven't actually tested these. Yet. olemissrebel 0 Posted June 14, 2006 considering i have twelve pair of them in my closet, his are decently accurate, apart from the fact that rangers have ACU everything. not a hodge-podge of tan & woodland IBAs, etc. Â everything is basically ACU, and you don't see too many M4's painted desert color. Â you're right though, they are more tan IRL. Â Edit, i took a few pictures of various things that could help you... also, those are 75th regiment scrolls you see, i'm not a ranger, they were purchased to use as a reference awhile back, and arent even velcro . i'm an infantryman in the 20th SF group, alabama national guard. Blackbuck 9 Posted June 14, 2006 wow thats a good referance of pics TB_84 should see that and multicam i think youll agree with me appears different in different lighting so... (everyones a critic <C'ept Me>)
Wilco 944 Posted June 14, 2006 I don't like the coloring of the ACU here. IMO it should be more like FFUR's ACU. Considering FFUR's is off color also, I don't think it would make much of a difference.
olemissrebel 0 Posted June 14, 2006 Actually, it's 101 degrees here today in Alabama, and noon, so I'll take a picture of the ACU's outside so you can see how they look. here's half in the shade, half in the light, obviously: http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b72/olemiss623/100_7159.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b72/olemiss623/100_7158.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b72/olemiss623/100_7160.jpg as you can see, it really doesn't look that different. his ACU rangers look a lot more realistic than those of FFUR, or any others released so far, so great job! loony 0 Posted June 14, 2006 That's all is awsome. But i mean, the logo on arm it is too large... but i don't know, how big is he on real :P
action man 0 Posted June 14, 2006 I'm probably in the minoroty here! But what the hell here goes, this is ace! However why is everyone getting swept away with this new face thing? It would have been better without the "face " thing. I think the new face's make these unit's look like somthing out of a cheap arcade type game. I also hope the fad for these new face's die's out soon.
olemissrebel 0 Posted June 14, 2006 i agree, no one wears facepaint in iraq, it's retarded.

olemissrebel 0 Posted June 14, 2006 i know, i was going after a generalization (sp) Â i'm not SF, i'm just a cadet at the university of alabama, and an e-4 in the alabama national guard, 20th SF group. Â i won't be able to go to selection or anything until after college. Â it's just my unit.

chipper 0 Posted June 15, 2006 Am I the only the that thinks the coloring of the ACU's on these rangers are a bit off? FFUR ACU Real Life ACU Laser's Ranger's in ACU Another Real Life ACU Now look and tell me which one looks more like the real thing. I'll be surprised if you tell me Laser's Rangers in ACU are. Shashman 0 Posted June 15, 2006 Man...Simulating ACU is like reproducing the sound a bullet being fired makes. It's just damn difficult because it changes shade and tan and appears different in practically every lighting condition, just like a bullet being fired changes sound in whatever environment it is fired, so people can sit here and argue until the cows come home about whether he has the right degree of Grey #09BH36 and all the rest... One addon is never gonna be spot on, when it comes to ACU
Sgt_Eversmann 1 Posted June 15, 2006 hey, I tried to simulate the acu as good as I can... but it seems you never get it 100%. Maybe you try to change dxdll settings abit or sth like that. Or maybe it's because of the paa compression which makes the textures look blueish. Like when you compress gunparts from tga to paa there is some strange violet color then. I try to improve the acu textures as soon as possible and as good as possible. Let's cu
