the m249 was out and in full production and usage in 1984, why not in game?

I don't know. For the longest time, I remeber wanting it realeased in a patch, but I could'bnt remeber it whenever I was voting in a poll. This gun *needs* to be in the game.

Not every thing has to be before 1985 thats just the time the campayne is set, its a war simulation not only restricted to 1985

M249, Minimi, C9 (Different Nomenclature) prob was developed and produced but prob not in front line use at the time. I think it should be in game as should the FN MAG ( C6, M270, L7 Gpmg). Both guns are the best in the world and the only gun that comes close to equaling it is the MG3. The only disadvantage of the MG3 is harder to change barrels.

When most armies procure new equipment they have to catalogue, train with (for drills and logistical reasons) and distribute to the troops. Unless the war is in full swing this is a slow process. Here in Canada we finally got our new radio system about three years after the military recieved them. It took 3 years to give to the various units.

I guess you are referring to the new digital radios. Hey, how long have the regs had their new kit? We are still waiting for ours. I guess you guys are too.

I want some handguns like the desert Eagle, or the Glock. Also a knife would come in handy when you're out of ammo in multi player. (or an AXE)

They didn't add it because it's not one of the weapons they chose to add.

You can't exactly expect them to include the entire arsenal of every civilisation and period in history.

And why are there so many aussie things in vbs1? Is the us planning to use aussie for target practice?

There will be 2 VBS-based simulators afaik.

one for marines and one for aussie-army.

yes but the m249 is a signifigant piece of military hardware, used almost as much as the m60

You can get an M249 here. At least I remember seeing that there but I couldn't check because the site is slow.

WTF are you talking about. I have a sense of humour and now my country's mititary sucks. What does that have to do with being weak?

It's just like criticising someone elses country, but it's my own. At least I have the balls to not necesarilly follow the crowd, and say something only because it makes the country I live look better than the next, like some.

And making such jokes is pretty common practice in Australia. That's an Australian trait, we take things lightly here. That's kinda the reason why alot of ppl like australians, cause we are pretty easy going and aren't hung up on "how great a country we are". The government and ppl of power in this country would have it differently though. They all wanna be america, and I think that just sucks anul fluids.

True patriots are willing to critisize their own government and society. It means they care because they know whats going on around them. Also if you cannot laugh at your own kind you have no right to laugh at others.
