*** new official sound blaster live! drivers

Sorry, I was talking about the xp/2k drivers.

    New nvidia drivers (41.09)

I haven't had much luck with beta drivers as of yet, but thanks, I'll take a look at em.

    New nvidia drivers (41.09)

I've found that I also get crashes using 41.09 when playing video playback, like a dvd etc. To solve these probs i need to go back to at least 40.72, but then I get texture problems in unreal 2 and gta3 and some other games, and if I go back to 30.82 then I don't have control over my refresh rate etc. (I can set up to at least 120hz but my system says that my monitor doens't support it, though I know it does). So for now I just gotta keep exchanging drivers. bummer.

I have recently started getting crashes that freeze the game. Â I sometimes see a moving mouse cursor, but can't continue the game and can't ALT-TAB or CTRL-ALT-DEL. Â I too upgraded to 41.09 also OFP v1.90 recently.<span id='postcolor'> Yeah. I was having crashes like that, and also sometimes the computer would just restart. I went back to 40.72 (only ones I could find) and the crashes stopped, but am just about to dl the 42.01 drivers and see how they worked for me.
  6. I'm using a Gainward geForce4 ti4200 with the latest nVidia Detenator drivers, 41.09, on WinXP and am constantly having system crashes when playing games like OFP and Mafia. I am only guessing that it's the drivers causing me problems, although I have also installed DirectX 9 recently and can't be sure that's not the actual cause of the problem. Anyone else using the nVidia drivers having system crashes or other problems?

    Force feedback!

I've got the same stick and the same problem. The joystick does work on games other than OFP too though. Joysticks weren't made for OFP. So if you aren't happy with it, why don't you just refund it? But yes, it would be nice if BIS could sort this problem out for all us fools.

    Force feedback

Actually I just made a new thread about this topic, but it might look more impressive if there's several threads for BIS to look at about the same subject. Maybe it'll encourage them to fix this. Please BIS. Could you please please please do it? Ohhh c'mon. You can do it.
  9. I have just bought a Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 because I love force feedback in games. I have tried it in OFP, but the effects are weak as, and the centre springing won't even work. I did a search on this topic and found a post for 1 year ago by someone complaining about the same thing. (I didn't bump it cause I thought 1 year is a bit old) I know force feedback works because about 2 yrs ago when I bought this game I had a Logitech Force 3D and force feedback worked great. That joystick died just outside it's used by date. I went for about a year with out any game devices, then I got a Logitech Cordless Rumblepad, and again the force feedback was good, but this controller didn't like my computer for some reason and would rarely work. So I refunded it and got this Sidewinder. I also own and still sometimes play Descent 3, and in this game the force effects do not even work at all, although the centre springing works at least. Now I'm assuming this problem with this particular device has been around since the game was released, and that it is common to all who own this game device and not just me. So since this is a popular brand of joystick, and a respected brand also (well, their peripherals are respected, and I guess even their software is too. I know the company isn't) does BIS think they can do something about this bug. Please please please. I love this game and I love this joystick too (when it works). Please make my OFP experience all the more enjoyable.

Big kick applied to the left side of your computer. If that doesn't work try kicking the right side. ;Å¢

Mouse wheel fails to function (logitech mice)

    The eax problem

Well don't worry about it. I've been playing it more and I've started noticing it again. I think it's not as loud as it was b4 though. I think I've started noticing it because I've been using headphones for the last couple of days.

    The geometry performance setting

Ok. It seems to have fixed itself somehow now. All I did was after changing the settings (sliding the geometry slider to the far right) I opened the flashpoint.cfg file to see what values it had stored in there. It seemed to be around what I had set it at. I then ran the game and while in game I alt+tabbed and checked again. The values were the same. Then I shut the game down, checked, they were the same. Then ran the preferences application and the slider hadn't reset itself this time. I was then also able to set the LOD's and all the texutre sizes and they stayed at the right values also. Sexcellent. I would just like to thank me for all my help....8) Just hope this helps anyone else in the same situation. I don't understand how what I did could've fixed that problem though as I didn't actually DO anything.
