Air Force Combat Uniform

Recommended Posts

I forgot to mention that this picture shows that it looks like it has common tiger-stripe camoflauge. Closer, better lit pictures will show you that it is a little more lighter and actually digitized. Basically, think about it as the ACUs but with less foilage (greyish color), a little darker, and in tiger stripe pattern.

hhmm, why the hell do the 4 branches of the US military insist on having a different camopattern crazy_o.gif, has to be one of the most ilogical and expensive decisions ever confused_o.gif the camo looks alright i suppose but i dont seem why the Marines, Army, Airforce and navy need their own camo pattern. huh.gif

Why does a post "Air Force Combat Uniform" mean "American Air Force Combat Uniform".

Do only Americans have Air Force Combat Uniform?

Because everyone has money to waste with the war on.

Would that be Iraq money?

I really think political debate is pointless on a game forum, but Hellfish, I just can't let this one go. Unfortunately, the exact opposite is true for many different communities in the different services.

Because each branch is a mini army.

In that case, we have three mini armies per squad here in Finland.

Of course - I was generalizing on a services level. While the Navy has gotten a boost for some of its programs (the new littoral program, SEALs, maybe carrier air), some have also suffered I imagine. Likewise with the Army - the infantry is doing well now (for the first time in a long time) while other branches are seeing severe cuts (artillery, air defense, even aviation). smile_o.gif

Haha, sorry Tankieboy. I am not used to being in a largly multi-national forum (was an avid America's Army poster). I thought about it when I had already hit the submit button.

The U.S. Navy temperary adopted the Marines MARPAT, both desert and woodland. I have seen some pictures of the new U.S. Navy combat uniforms. All I can say is that these guys would only be safe at sea-ports. It would make perfect sense that it would be the urbanized varient of MARPAT since they Marines don't have one yet...who knows. The U.S. Air Force uniform has a large number of light foilage like greenish-blue on their uniform to go insync with the sky or air base. Sounds silly but I have been reading that all branches are proud of their differences. The U.S. Air Force implemented to much on it's heritage instead of being realistic. Now they have to get desert and woodland varients (I still don't know if this one is univeral). A lot of Airmen wanted the Air Force to adopt the ACUs as they found it reliable. You should have seen the first prototype...looked like a Hawiian shirt. They even made jokes of it by having an image that compared. Because of all this publicity, the U.S. Air Force made it considerably like the ACU.

I will look forward in doing that, thank you.

I got some good pictures for comparison!

U.S. Air Force Then (Prototype)

AIRFORCE1.jpg

U.S. Air Force Now (Finalized)

AIRFORCE2.jpg

AIRFORCE3.jpg

You notice how closely they resemble the ACU? Even the foilage undershirt.

U.S. Navy

NAVY.jpg

Would resemble a "what if" urbanized varient of the MARPAT.

Air Force implies U.S. Air Force (USAF), it's commonly referred to as "the Air Force" by Americans, though it could also be used for other countries' air forces, such as the RAF. Though usualy other countries have their own names for their air forces, ours (USAF) is just plain and simple.

Actually it is not really temporary. Naval personnel that are attacthed to FMF units wear MarPat. As an example, Navy Corpsman, AKA Devil Docs, Chaplains, etc.

Maybe its because.. its the army, marines, navy and airforce... if we all were to wear all the same camo then some people would mistake marines with navy and airforce with army..... icon_rolleyes.gif

Just reading through these posts here about the Navy and Airforce camo. Forgive my ignorance - but why do sailors and pilots need camo?

Why do Sailors and pilot's need camo ?? Good question, why don't we give them fluorising yellow suits tounge2.gif . Think first before you ask the question m8. For example what do you think happens when a pilot gets shot down over enemy territory ?? He will be happy he has camo clothing wink_o.gif (and a gun ofcourse)
