UH-1N in Police Version

Recommended Posts

Hi there!

I startet retexturing Preparation H´s US Marines Helicopter *Big THX for permission* due to a upcoming campaign.

Here are my first tries.

I don´t know, which scripts will be featured, because i have to ask for permission.

Sgt. Eversmann told me to help me with this project. Also a big THX for this...

Please consider: The Addon on the screens shows my first try. I´ll do my best to enhance quality

There is still a lot of work to do... When Eversmann is back in action he will hopefully explain me how to change the writings on the back via settexture. So there will be different writings like Police, FBI, SWAT and so on

I agree with hidden_spectre's cargo anim suggestion. Don't care if it's realistic, it just looks cool biggrin_o.gif

it may look cool but its humanly impossible to be on the skids of a chopper without grasping at least a "handbar" to hold yourself up icon_rolleyes.gif

looks good about the anims i would make them look a little less in combat mode slightly lower the rifles but have it still look there ready to engage because i think it looks stupid for a long journey to have the rifle up in your shoulder looking down the sights all the way. And also make them look as if they are sitting down inside the chopper becuase it looks like theyre gonna fall out in that pic.

However looks good.

Looks pretty good, although I don't like the yellow "police" title on the tail boom. It's either too generic, or uses the wrong font and shouldn't be yellow. I'd prefer a white version, with perhaps a blue stripe accross the fuslage, and black "police" title wink_o.gif

Indeed. A totally white version with just black registration on the tail boom like this one

Would be cool wink_o.gif

Yes it would, but as the topic title says "Police version" and the image you posted clearly says "UNITED NATIONS", it doens't quite fit.

If you want to keep the yellow font you've already applied, make it all capitals e.g. "POLICE" instead of "Police" - I know its a minor issue, but its something I picked up on. Other than that it looks good, keep it up.

I think he meant for us to ignore the UN bit wink_o.gif

But an unmarked police helo wold probably be black or blue anyway since they would have to paint over the writing to make it unmarked. I'm rambling nonsensical bullsh*t right now I think. If i make no sense ignore me.

Yes, I meant an unmarked version. That photo of a UN Huey is the best I could find to illustrate my point wink_o.gif

Most police forces around the world use white vehicles, with the addition of red or blue or green or whatever colour stripe said country's police force uses

Gotta love GOOGLE!

Yeah, indeed, gotta love Google. I entered White Huey, and that was the best picture result wink_o.gif

You'll find that most of the non white police choppers in the images resulting from that search you did are British... Look at any other European country's police choppers for instance, and you'll find they are white with a coloured stripe or feature (Blue or red in most cases)

Italian State Police

Belgian Police

German Police

Spanish Police

Detroit Police

Dubai Police

There you go... icon_rolleyes.gif

THX for all your replies...

As i already said i plan to make patches with different writings. The Police writing is just an example.

The suggestion to write Police in capital letters is very good and i think i will change it.

I also consider to build versions in different colour. So be surprised smile_o.gif

police depts usualy dip into military/goverment surplus aircraft to keep costs down. Usually if relesed from servce have been fully rebuilt to like new condition before turn in. Tons of UH!H and N models were litetyr given away to law enforcement and border patrol after 911.
